  1. I have tricare prime too, I'm in San Diego right now. I'm SO worried after reading all the posts about denials from insurance. I am aware of the requirements tricare has in place, but I'm not sure yet if I have any comorbidities. (my first appointment is next Friday) I am 5'6 and 240 pounds. So I think a barely make the 100 pounds over thing. If anyone has any advice on dealing with PCMs and how to make sure I get approved and so on, I would really like the help.
  2. Hey, I also have tricare west, I'm in southern California. I have my first appointment with my PCM to request a referral next Friday. I'm nervous because I am 100 pounds over (just barely) at 240 lbs, and I'm 5'6. I don't have any comorbidities (that I know of), so I'm worried I won't be approved.
  3. Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum:) I'm 20 years old (yes I'm young hehe;) ) and I have been overweight my entire life and dieting the whole time too! I am 5'6 and weigh 235 lbs. I'm not sure if I meet the requirements because Im not 100 lbs overweight, but I have been really think about getting the lap band surgery lately. I live in San Diego, CA, my husband is in the Navy. I want to know if any of you are from San Diego and have found a primary care provider that is helpful in starting the process? My provider is in Coronado and makes comments every time I go in if I have gained a pound or two or three ( which really bugs me because I am ALWAYS fluctuating) and although she is overweight herself I don't think she understands. I need help! If anyone has advice I am open to it even if you are outside of san Diego, share your experiences, whatever:)
