    Regretting it

This is late and you probably have it sorted by now but my doc's office told me to sip 1 ounce over 15 mins. They gave me little cups to use. The first couple of days that was tiresome but I stuck with it because I wanted to make sure to get my protein and not get dehydrated. I did not want to go back to the hospital and/or die. Now I can drink pretty regularly just more slowly than I would have before surgery. If you are still having issues, try the sipping over 15 mins and see if that helps. Also, keep reminding yourself WHY you did this to begin with. I am smaller than some others here, but at my height I was too big and I had aches and pains, sleep apnea, and other issues were on the horizon. I had lost weight countless times before but never kept it off. I didn't want to get my health in some dire situation that I couldn't come back from so I chose this surgery. I feel SO MUCH better (though I am ready to chew something ) and can see how this new lifestyle will benefit me in so many different ways. Stay focused on the goal. Good luck!

    The mystery of Oatmeal

I have always hated it. I can't stomach the look of it, the texture -- nothing. Just looks like cat vomit to me. Maybe someday I'll try it again but I doubt it.

Make sure you consume some kind of protein within 30 mins of your workouts.

    5 Days Post op

Day 8 for me. I can have Gatorade so I drink 12 oz of that a day. I do 16 oz of broth a day with two scoops of Unjury chicken flavor protein powder (42 oz of protein). I drink one Muscle Milk pro a day which is 32 oz of protein. And water. Am losing about a pound a day.

    Need real answers

I am seven days out from surgery and I, too, have nausea issues with anesthesia and use scopolamine patches. I am still on a clear liquid diet but I haven't been nauseous, I had little to no pain and I could have gone back to work yesterday but I didn't want to haha.

    Struggling with pre-op diet

Sorry I meant to say make sure you are getting at least 60 g of protein. Protein helps you feel sated so the hunger pangs won't bother you, especially if you go into keto.

    Struggling with pre-op diet

    Lots of protein.
  8. There's not much I want to do that I don't do already (I learned long ago to push past the fear) but here are a couple of things: Skydiving. Dating.

    Massive hair loss and stall

You can't worry about what other people are doing, track your progress and keep your eyes on the goal -- better health, more robust life.

    Need a band buddy

Hi! My tentative banding date is May 18. It would be nice to have someone who has gone through it to lean on.

    Protein and water requirements

I use unjury flavorless protein powder because I can't drink shakes everyday. You can stir it into anything. I also use their chicken soup flavor for a lot of stuff. In fact for dinner last night (still on full liquids) I made cream of chicken soup. I took 8 ounces of skim milk, one scoop of chicken soup flavor protein, one scoop of flavorless protein and microwaved it = 49 g. protein.
  12. *knock on wood* I'm a little sore and tired, but otherwise fine. No gas pain at all. I lost 9 pounds on the pre-op diet and need to lose 90 lbs altogether. Good luck all!
  13. Today is my first day of non clear liquids, but I started with greek yogurt that I mixed with 2 tbsp skim milk to thin and stirred in some no flavor Unjury protein powder. For snack I had a muscle milk chocolate. Total = 54 g of protein.
