  1. Well my sleeve surgery is rescheduled for June 21st! My GYN said it is okay to wait on the hysterectomy. The uterus does have to come out but it is not going to get worse over the next 6 months and the hysterectomy will actually be easier when I have lost weight. I am staying on the iron pills to get and keep my RBC's up and as long as they stay up I am good for my June 21st sleeve!
  2. Thanks guys! I will have to go back and look at your previous posts Determined1. I thought if I posted on here someone would surely have something similar to share!
  3. Well I am feeling more optimistic. You know how they get you up and want you to move around after your sleeve surgery...You suppose that would be okay after the hysterectomy?
  4. So not sure if you guys remember me from the post above about a week ago but wanted to give you an update. I went to see my ob/gyn. They did ultrasound and found out for sure why I am so anemic. My Uterus is 5X the size it should be and I have 2 large fibroids. He does not think an IUD or ablasion will help. He said I need a hysterectomy. He said uterus is so big that it will have to be an open procedure instead of lap. That is okay by me EXCEPT IF IT MESSES WITH MY SLEEVE SURGERY! Ob/gyn said to get my Iron level checked next week and if it is up enough he will talk to the bariatric surgery about doing the sleeve and they hysterectomy at the same time. What do you guys think about this??? So confused and a little scared. I want my sleeve guys! Advise needed!
  5. I hope you do not get canceled. I can relate. Mine was just canceled this week due to extreme anemia. I would hate to see anyone else go thru this same disappointment! Hope it works out great for you!
  6. Oh no! I knew not to take the iron with caffeine but I did take it with milk darn it! Good luck to you on the 14th. Keep us posted!
  7. Hey guys! I went for my pre-op testing Monday. I am so anemic that they canceled my surgery. I am devastated to so the least. I had everything ready. Work arrange, post op supplies purchased, day care arranged, etc. They will not even talk about rescheduling until they figure out why I am so anemic. Going for further testing next week. I am beyond words disappointed!
  8. Yes it is my iron count. I think it is from heavy menstrual bleeding. I am going to OBGYN to try to get an IUD. I wanted to get one anyway and my sister said she NEVER even has a period at all once she got hers. If I can get the bleeding to slow down or stop plus I am taking my iron pills hopefully I can reschedule sooner than later. I just did not think having low iron was that serious of a thing but I guess it must be. I am trying so hard to just take actions to get myself better now instead of dwelling on how broken my heart is right now that I was supposed to have surgery in 14 days and now I am not. But taking the emotion out of it is hard for me. I go from being pissed to being sad to being thankful that they caught it before surgery. I don't know just a mix of emotions plus I am so drained and tired anyway. Going to take it easy for a few days and hope the iron pills start kicking in. Thanks everyone for the well wishes!
  9. Thanks everyone for the support! Trying hard to keep my chin up. Will start anew tomorrow with my iron pills and make my appointments for further testing. Kinda wishing I could go to bed and wake up to find it was a bad dream!
  10. My heart it broken! Went for my pre-surgery testing today. The hospitalist says my red blood cell count is 7 (1/2 what it should be) and my blood sugar is very low too. My April 19th surgery date is canceled. I cried and cried and thought I was going to lose my mind. I finally got thru the hurdle of insurance approval so I thought I was good to go. This is a devastating blow for me. I have worked my whole life around planning this surgery. I have bought all my post-op foods and supplements and planned every last detail about how I was going to make this work. Doctor would not even discuss rescheduling until they figure out what is wrong which is good but I feel like I have been shot in the heart right now. SO disappointed!
  11. Guys..As I stated in my post yesterday my surgery was scheduled for 4/19. I just got home from my pre-surgery testing. I am extremely anemic and they have cancelled my surgery. I have never been so upset in my entire life.
  12. April 19th for me. So excited! Off for my pre-surgery testing this morning!
  13. Sounds like just what I am looking for. Thanks!
  14. I am looking for a good book about Weight Loss surgery to read during my recovery. Can anyone recommend one? Maybe something that mentions ways to deal with emotional eating or the changes we will go thru etc.
  15. Cassandra What flavors do you like in the Isopure Zero Carb Waters? I am going to go get some and have the fridge stocked for when I get home from the hospital. They are expensive but seem like they would be worth it to get in 40 grams of protein and 20 0z of fluid!
  16. Your incisions look great too! Can barely see them! That is encouraging!
  17. CONGRATS! I know how relieved you must feel! I was just approved last week and I felt the same way!
  18. Ha! I am doubting the guys do it...no offense guys! Glad to hear that I am not the only one who is being ultra prepared !
  19. Ha! If I get mine all done and do not know what to do next I just may come to your house. I am doing the prep thing too. Have a fridge full of Protein shakes. Ordered jello and Soups from Bariatric Choice. I keep trying to stop myself from packing my hospital bag with all the things suggested by people on this site. My surgery is April 19th so I think I need not pack yet but I so want to! Just finding myself a bit obsessive during all this or lets just call it prepared not obsessed!!
  20. I am finding that in the weeks before my surgery I am nesting like I did when I was pregnant waiting for the baby. Cleaning out closets, Steaming the carpets, Redecorating a bit. I guess maybe it is a way to keep myself busy as I wait for the big date! Did anyone else do this??
  21. My sister and I are going to take our young daughters and spend a week in Hilton Head on the beach! I can already feel the sun and I have not even had my surgery yet!
  22. Something comforting about knowing someone is going thru this at the same time so we will have to keep track of each other .
  23. So excited to learn today that my sleeve is less than a month away! WAHOOO!!! Anyone else being sleeved on April 19th??
  24. Congratulations! Have faith you are doing the right thing!!! I just found out my date today......APRIL 19th so I will be just a step ahead of you and will tel ya what to expect!
  25. You look GREAT! And your hair looks even fuller and better than before. Have you done something specific to keep yourself from losing hair??
