My Gastric Sleeve Loves... My Gastric Sleeve Hates...
My sleeve loves steak. My sleeve hates hamburger. My sleeve loves pork. My sleeve hates chicken. My sleeve also hates anything even remotely spicy

Which shakes have the most protein?
I've heard this too, however don't forget that we can't drink the shakes as fast as most people can. If we could chug a shake that had 60 grams of protein, maybe then it wouldn't get absorbed. But with the way we drink it over a length of time I would think this wouldn't really have an influence. It would be no different than waiting a couple hours before having a second shake or a meal for a regular person.

Which shakes have the most protein?
If you really want to hit the high Protein, go with Isopure. It isn't a "shake" as it is a clear, flavored liquid. It has 40 grams of protein in 20 oz. I couldn't handle it for some reason, but I seem to be sensitive to a lot of the whey protein products out there. Good luck!

Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte Has Protein? Who Knew?
The protein comes from the milk! I normally have a few glasses of milk a week, for the protein but also for the Vitamin d and Calcium. And I can't finish a tall either! Did you know that you can get them in a "shorty" version? It is their kid cup, but they can make any of their drinks that size.

4 Weeks Gastric Sleeve Postop Today. It Is Getting Easier Just Like They Said!
You're welcome As for the ticker... I just click on me and it brings me to the correct place to update. Also, when you first make the ticker it gives you a link you can save (the same place clicking on your current ticker will take you). I bookmarked that link and put it as a tab so it is right there for me when I open up google chrome. As for the amount of weight loss, I haven't officially picked a goal. For my ticker I picked a number that was right in the middle of the "normal" BMI range, but I know that between any extra skin I may have and just where my body evens out I may not hit that. I am not bothered by numbers. It may be because I was never little in my adult life (i'm only 20) to begin with, so if I look back to the last time I was "normal" I was just a kid, so I am really facing the unknown. But I'm happy about that. It also means I can set a new standard for myself.

4 Weeks Gastric Sleeve Postop Today. It Is Getting Easier Just Like They Said!
Just imagine how awesome it will be at 8 weeks out, 9 weeks out!! (that's about where I am!) It seriously does get easier every day. You get all the benefits of the weight loss and the restriction. At this point I pretty much have my limitations down, though I do experiment every so often to see what I can tolerate. At this point just about everything except hamburger is fine for me. I can't wait to see where the following months bring me! Congrats on getting through the hard part! You said you wanted to lose 90 pounds, and you've already lost 1/3 of your excess weight!! That is amazing!

Hernia After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I had something similar that ended up going away, however I DID contact my surgeon and he checked it out. At the very least call them and see what they say. Hopefully it is nothing, but if it's not it is better to bring attention to it early than late! Good luck

I Hate My Gastric Sleeve
I'm so sorry to hear this!! I am 2 months out as well. Please please don't give up! Stay positive. Are you taking a PPI?? My surgeon put me on one from day one. It helped keep the nausea down and helped me keep liquids down. That is the hardest part, the liquids. For the first few weeks I literally kept my bottle next to me constantly and I made sure to sip sip sip every few minutes through the straw. My bottle is 30 oz, so I aimed to drink one before "lunch" and one before bed. It also sounds like all the other problems could stem from the dehydration. Good luck and please keep us updated!

Camisoles Are My Friend
I love these! I love layering clothes, and the extra layer is very nice when I am soo cold! I hate that I actually get cold now. I NEVER used to get cold. I was always the one out in the snow with short sleeves and I was always the one who wanted to turn the air down or the fan on. Definitely not true anymore!

Chicken Crispers!
I saw this and I thought you were talking about the chicken crispers from Chili's... which I just had (well I had one lol!) a few minutes ago!! I love these because, even though they are battered and fried... they go down so well. I don't eat the majority of the batter, just the chicken. It is so juicy and moist and easy to go down. I get it and "share" with my little sister. Between the two of us we normally bring home two or three! Your recipe sounds yummy! I'll have to try it one day.

Wow - How Fat I Am
You are definitely not alone! Even though I have come quite a ways, it is sooo hard to see because all I can think of is how far I still have to go. I still have so far to go. In fact I would still qualify for surgery even! So I see all the posts of people with lower bmi's (low to mid 30's) saying how they are fighting for their surgeries and it always reminds me of how bad I let it get and how much more I have to go. I avoid pictures. I have a few that i'll use as my "before's and during's" but at this point they are not positive reinforcements for me. Just ugly reminders.

Fat Pant Photos...
Wow! Those are amazing I can't wait until I can take those pictures myself! Congrats

Salt Cravings?
Hello! I am just about nine weeks out now and recently I have noticed that I am craving salt... big time!! This is very odd for me as I have never been big on salt. I don't add it to my food (except some while I cook, never after) and whenever I go to restaurants etc I always ask for them not to add it. I always chose the "lightly salted" chips and stuff if I bought them. So for me to crave salt is very very odd. At first I thought it was tied in with my monthly curse, but then I noticed that it is not connected. Any ideas? Thanks!

Size 20 Dress anyone??????
I have a pretty one that I had bought at dressbarn two years ago... I wore it once. It is an emerald green color and layered... but it is an 18. I noticed that their sizes can run large (they can also run really small too... no middle ground). Maybe if you go there and try their sizes out and if an 18 would work I will try to send it to you. Where do you live? The dress is similar to this one, except no sleeves, the neckline is V shaped and the bottom isn't tapered, it is straight. My dress is much younger looking and the layers are a bit wider. http://www.dressbarn.com/detail/iridescent-shutter-pleat-sheath-with-rosette/100902131/301 It is the same color as this dress. Or at least very very close. http://www.dressbarn.com/detail/iridescent-tiered-dress-and-bolero/100731972/800 Let me know If you are interested, cool. If not, not a big deal.

I am the only one??
I didn't do it on purpose... but anything with artificial sweeteners made me sick after my surgery. So I ended up doing water and broth.... it wasn't horrible but I did get sick of it very quickly. It was better once I added in my Protein shakes, though not completely because even those had the artificial sweetener in it.

I am the only one??
It makes no sense to do sugar free and fat free at the same time!!! Many things that are sugar-free have a higher fat content, and many things that are fat free are higher in sugar!! I do low carb, but only because I am carb sensitive. However, even though i'm low carb, I don't count them anymore since having my sleeve. I figure there is absolutely no way that I could eat the same amount before, especially since I always eat my Protein first... and by the time I do that I don't have room for anything else! I have been losing steadily and feel great. When I am meticulously counting everything I mentally feel like crud because it puts me into "diet mode" and I won't do that to myself. The only thing at the store that I buy special is a low-sugar ketchup. My sister (she is 6) is very sugar sensitive as well and regular ketchup sends her up the walls. I also happen to prefer the taste. Oh, and I buy the "light" cheese sticks, but only because those are higher protein and I can't taste a difference. As for feeling cruddy with sugar-free and low-carb products?? DEFINITELY! I noticed this immediately post-surgery. Before surgery I loved propel Water and Powerade zero... afterwards? They make me sick. I feel dizzy and weak and hot and I hate it! Even some of my Protein shakes that have artificial sweeteners bug me!

After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Bucket List
I love this I believe they have another one somewhere on the site but it is great to see new ones! My list - Wear a dress. I have never worn dresses unless I absolutely had too. I would love to wear one and actually feel nice in it. -Actually play with my sister at the park. My sister just turned 6... I would like to play with her (without being self conscious and wondering if the swing is going to snap) and not just sit on the side with my book. - I want to rollerblade again. I used to do this ALL the time as a kid. I went through pair after pair because I would wear them out (the good ones too!). I was really good on them too. I would love to rollerblade again. Right now my ankles aren't strong enough to support all my weight. -I want to iceskate again (see above, same reason!) -Ride all the rollercoasters, and walk all around the park... and maybe wear a bikini top (or a tankini) on the Water rides My biggest (and craziest)... I want to learn how to hang-glide. Yup. I want to be strapped into a giant kite, towed behind a plane and let loose! It is one of my ultimate dreams, but I would never attempt it at my weight.

3 months post up with pics!!!! ^_^
You look great! I especially like that last photo with the blue scarf I noticed that we have very similar stats! I am about 2.5 months out and I have gone from a 22/24 to a 14/16... and I am about to turn 21! I don't have very many before pics but I was planning on posting something at the three month mark as well. Also, I still can't see that big of a difference in myself as well. I still look the same, just in smaller clothes! My mom however swears up and down that there is a huge difference.

New!!! BMI 39.6 are you kidding me?
I remember reading somewhere that someone (not on this site) had seen someone weigh in with ankle weights on to push themselves over the 40 BMI mark!! Good luck and I hope you get your approval!

Driving after surgery
I asked my surgeon about driving and he said that it was absolutely fine. The risk is no different whether you are the one driving or the one being driven. A sudden stop or an accident would do damage either way. Sometimes you can't avoid it. I know I couldn't. Unless you are on pain meds the surgery is fairly minor and your stomach is pretty well protected. It would have to be a very major accident to rupture it.

Any1 else go thru the shock of how you look when you start to lose?
I'm mixed... there are some days where I feel smaller but then I look in the mirror and I'm like "i'm still huge". Then there are other days where I just don't feel any different. Even when I was at my heaviest I was still very active and I never had any major issues (there were some pretty darn close on the horizon though), so at this point I honestly don't "feel" different and I don't see any major changes. I avoided pictures like the plague so I don't have many "before" at my heaviest, but I have quite a few that had from about 30 lbs up... and I can see a difference, but all it does is remind me of how far I still have to go, and I get the shock factor of "geeze, how did I not notice!!"

Its time!!
By the time you see this... YOU ARE ON THE LOSERS BENCH!!!!!!! You did it! Happy Dance! Congrats
