  1. Here is a link to some at Amazon if anyone is interested. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001LUCNY4/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
  2. I took your advice a few months ago and bought the GNC Bioton 5,000 and have taken one every night religiously since then. I have to say my hair is growing back and I'm happy! So although your hair may fall out for awhile, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And I'm 107 lbs down since last June and feeling great! Only 30 lbs more to go.
  3. I was sleeved on 6/6/2011 and have lost 107 lbs. I feel great! Only 30 lbs to go!
  4. I have no such card and don't even tell a waitress about my surgery. I just order what I want and they give it to me. Crazy eh? It works every time. They just figure out the price ala carte and it's never much. I'll say I want a poached egg and an order of bacon or the 4 oz steak and the green beans. I never get a hassle anywhere I go. Don't know why others have had trouble.
  5. I drink beer just about every weekend but not during the week. I can honestly say I can drink about the same now as I did before my surgery. It hasn't effected me at all. I think the key is moderation.
  6. I felt the exact way you do at that stage. The good news is that it DOES get better and soon I might add! Once you start on solid foods and get used to it (with no nausea) then you will start to enjoy eating again! I'm almost 5 months out and it's awesome!
  7. Bottom line for me. Every time I started eating more carbs, my weight loss stops. Every time I stop eating them it starts up again.
  8. What confuses me with these stalls is that if I hadn't been sleeved and eating like I am I would be losing weight like CRAZY. I know, I've done enough dieting over the years. I just don't see how you can NOT lose a pound in a week eating 900 calories a day composed of mostly protein and not many carbs and NO sweets, pop, etc. When I've done that in the past before the sleeve I would be dropping at least 5 lbs a week. Weird.
  9. Yep, you're in ketosis and there isn't much you can do for it. It's not emitting from anywhere you can wash or mask the smell. Sorry.
  10. I drink a Tim Horton's medium coffee with 2 creams every morning. I also drink varying amounts of beer every weekend. It hasn't stopped me from losing 80 lbs in 4 months. Other than portion size and cutting out certain foods, I feel pretty normal again.
  11. My surgeon told me it's against the law for him to remove an organ unless something is wrong with it. I am taking medicine to prevent gallstones.
  12. I have Bio-Oil but haven't it used it long enough to say it works or it doesn't. When I do I'll let everyone know.
  13. I'm 4 months out and battling with constipation right now. What I would give for a runny bm. lol
  14. I've been waiting until my pants are just about falling off of me before buying new jeans. I've went from a 46 waist to a 36 so far and I try to keep about 4 pairs of jeans at each weight, 2 for work and 2 for going out. I do have to wash a lot more often than I would if I had a lot of clothes at each weight but it keeps me from having to spend so much. I'm still on the same belt I had at my heaviest, the difference in that I've had to poke new holes in it and cutting the end off ever since I started losing. I'll need a new one soon.
  15. I've lost 82 lbs in about 4 months and I feel GREAT! I have only 53 lbs to goal of 185. This was the best decision I have EVER made for myself. Would do it again in a heartbeat! I am so glad my surgeon recommended this to me instead of RNY because I was going to do whatever he felt best. He said "I think the sleeve would be best for you" and I said "okay then". After I researched it I knew it was the right decision!
  16. It varies in time but for me it was a few weeks after I went to solid food. I was nauseated at first but now I love to eat again!
  17. I started eating cereal and my weight loss slowed way down. Too many carbs/sugars I guess and I was eating the low sugar cereal! I stopped eating it and started losing fast again.
  18. Sorry to say but people that love each other as much as you say you both do do NOT treat each other like that and be non-supportive. I'd re-evaluate your relationship. That is NOT love.
  19. It'll happen. When I was first sleeved I had a BM about once a week.
  20. I had surgery on June 6th of this year. I don't really count calories anymore as in I don't have a total for each day although I do look at labels to make sure the calories aren't too high on anything I eat. I eat mostly Protein 3 times a day with 2 small Snacks. I eat a lot of grilled chicken and beef and seafood. I also eat cheese and beef Jerky. I've lost 76 lbs so far and only 54 lbs to goal. I can't wait! Hope everyone else is doing well, too. This was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Feeling great!!
  21. I love fried chicken livers and gizzards but I don't eat fried food anymore so it's a no-no for me. I've never heard of KFC selling them, though and they certainly don't sell them here in the Detroit area. They do have places here that do sell them, however. I would imagine it would be a good source of protein...BUT... the fat from frying them and the breading would outweigh the benefits to me. If they were broiled like the other person said it might not be too bad. But I would think it wouldn't taste as good, either. You know what I do when all I have are fast food choices and I need protein is I go to McDonalds. They have a new grilled chicken sandwich and I order it without mayo and just throw away the bun and eat the rest. It's really yummy! I also eat Wendy's chili now and then for a treat. Good choice on the chili!
  22. In 20 years I'll be 70. Any complications from this surgery will probably be the LEAST of my problems by then!
  23. You're going through the absolute worst part of the whole surgery process. After you start eating solid food again it gets a LOT better. Hang in there!
  24. Well I had a little nausea when introducing solids back into my diet but I think that was normal after eating nothing but liquids and mushy stuff for so long. Other than the normal right-after-surgery stuff I've had zero problems. I can eat pretty normally although I choose to stay away from bread, Pasta, and rice. I also don't eat fried food or food too high in carbs. I stick to mainly Protein most of the time.
  25. I just responded to this exact post but it wasn't this post. Are there 2 of them? Anyway I would do it again in a hearbeat!
