  1. Hi everyone:

First day post-op, seem to be doing pretty well. Not a lot of pain, the gas I could live without although it is getting better. Leak test and to the hotel tomorrow for two days before going home Monday.

Very happy to be on this side of surgery for sure, time to get A new ticker to count down pounds lost, yay!

So happy you're doing well!! I can't wait to see your progress!

  2. Totally interesting... Anyone else find themselves doing this?

I found myself doing this even before I was sleeved and overweight myself. I'm not proud of it. I think its part of our psyche that projects our own disappointments and shortcomings on others so that we don't have to deal with our own problem or to make ourselves feel better. But I'm no psych major :)

  3. I'm sure I'll have the same issue. I just keep hearing "baby sips - baby sips" in my head

I'm in my second week and the capacity for liquids is much better. I do find myself taking too large of sips because I forget but my Guardian angel (my sleeve) lets me know very quickly. My culprit is getting caught up in my work and forgetting to drink.

But I know you're going to do great!!

  4. Hey everyone!

I have seperated stomach muscles from my first pregnancy. I ended having a c-section and every since then I've suffered lower back pain. My doctor says this is because my core muscles no long support my back. From what I understand, they lace your muscles back together like a corset. I would like to have this repaired and would like to know of your experiences or any stories that you have heard about it to determine if its worth the hassle.

    THANKS!

  5. Please let me know if you have a hard time reading my font/color as I do love it! I wouldn't want anyone to skip my posts because of my choices because I do want to be helpful to those folks that come here for support...thanks in advance! Blessings~Melanie:)

I dont find this hard to read, I don't think red is an issue. Its the cursive fonts that are hard and then to add bright colors on top leads to an immediate pass over.

  6. Congratulations!!!

I'm only 9dpo, but the best advice I can give is walk walk walk as soon as possible!! Also sip as much as possible. During your first week, don't focus so much on your Protein intake, just try to get in as much fluids as you can. Take it easy and remember to use a small pillow to splint your stomach when coughing or rising up from a sitting or laying position.

    4 more days!!! :D

  7. I'm not at the point where I can eat things like this yet, but Like the previous posters said, I think the sugar is not an issue due to the small amount that you are eating. Unless you are having hyperglycemic symptoms right after eating, I don't know if you should worry about it.

  8. smh!. umph! Neckrolling...side eye. No you didn't. Girl. Get in touch with me. I LOVE window shopping : ) We can hit up Wheaton Mall, Columbia Mall Arundel Mills--shoot Rockville.. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk.. People get a sleeve and act like they can't coordinate with somebody...lol

Kidding aside 1. You are going to be down more than 2 sizes by then. 2. Check out Youtube OOTD videos. I love watching people put clothes and colors together. 3. Magazines, Marie Claire, Vogue, Glamour, Essence (sometimes), O Magazine, InStyle.

I love that kind of thing. Know your body shape. and you can look up sites that recommend cuts for that body type. Undergarments are king and the proper fit goes a long way. Accessories! Dresses, Shoes! Locally I also check out Burlington Coat Factory-they have a lot of dresses this time of year.

This literally made me spit out my Protein shake! LOL I am 2 steps away from Wheaton Mall and Burlington is my FAVE! We definitely need to coordinate a shopping day!!

  9. I have no tips on cream Soups as I was told to stay away from cream soups. I don't think you are going to find any that have much Protein in them, that is what you need to sustain you. day 6,I was still on full liquids, drinking mostly nasty tasting Protein beverages....lol. seems like those 4 weeks of liquids lasted 6 months....I drank alot of muscle milk shakes, those have 20grams in each 8 oz container, if you can tolorate them, it's great source of protein. I loved them, still drink one every day.

    Best of luck

    Great question.

Purdy, did they tell you why you should stay away from cream soups? Is it because of the carbs?

  10. I can't wait for all of you who's dates are coming up to join me on the loser's bench!! I've been waking up lately full of something, I didn't know what it was. Then it hit me. I'm happy. For the first time in a long time my happiness is radiating from the inside out instead of me trying to force it from the outside in. This is such a great feeling! I hope each one of you feels the same way :)

  11. Thanks for thinking of me! Yes, at work for my last day before flying out tomorrow. I am on Clear Liquids only at this point...I am excited, and scared, and at this point I just want to be there and have met everyone so I know more what to expect!

Yes, please keep us in your prayers. I will update as soon as possible from Mexico.....I am sure I will post tomorrow, but just in case!

Good luck and a speedy recovery to you!!

  12. Hey brandymarie81, it's like you're reading my mind. I had frequrent Y.I's before the sleeve and once my period hit the day after its been really bad. I don't know if its the hormone fluctuation thats doing it but I'm now on meds for it and I'm going into the doc Thursday for follow up. I know my symptoms and diagnosed myself but I want confirmation. Have you been to the doc yet? BTW this may be TMI but I'm STILL bleeding! WTH. I hope this period craziness doesn't last for a long time.
