  1. I have been noticing pain in my hips as well when I wake up in morning. I've also noticed it when I sit in one place to long on my tailbone. I've NEVER had that problem before! I don't know if it is because pressure from the bones being closer to the surface of our legs or just the drastic change in body composition pulling Calcium from our bones.

  2. That's fairly common. I don't want to downplay your frustration, but 3 days is not a long time. There are a LOT of luids introduced into your body during surgery, a lot of swelling, etc. There are a lot of physiological reactions to bod trauma, and to organ trauma, and you've had quite a bit of both. Unfortunately most of our body reactions involve Fluid (actually I think it's safe to say that they ALL do) - and a lot of it. Bear with it, and keep in try to focus on "it has ONLY been 3 days" instead of "it's been 3 days already!" :)

A lot of people weigh more when they get home from surgery. A lot of people actually gain weight shortly after, as they're able to drink & their bodies begin to hoard fluids.

It's like your investment portfolio. You really can't look at it on a day-to-day basis and expect it to make any sense at all. You just have to trust that it's right, and see where you are after some time has elapsed.

"Investment portfolio" I love the comparison!

  3. You have to give your body time to catch up with your mind. You're thinking the weight should be falling off and your body is in panic mode as NancyJerry said. You just had major surgery on top of a sudden drop in calories. Your body is built for survival and is now in survival mode. Just keep doing what your surgeon and team tell you, follow your diet, drink your Water, walk, and just live. I promise you will start to see results.

    ^_^

The majority of people on this board have the stall around 2/3/4 weeks. Everyone is different but that stall seems to happen to everyone.

Suggestion---> hide the scale. Weigh once a week, preferably in the morning right after you pee, then hide it again.

  4. Ok' date=' so now if you notice my stat, you'll notice a change. I was hungry ALL DAY yesterday. And I started today off hungry. I definitely do not like this I am sooooo close to Onderland.

I edited to add that everything I eat is so tasty.....lol. I truly have a sleeve of steel. There is nothing this thing won't eat.[/quote']

Aww I'm sorry. Maybe it's your Tom?

  5. Thanks ladies! I have no idea why I called it a pouch. I guess it's the pain meds talking. I'm glad there's other people out there in my boat. I had my surgery through the air force and like many thing in the military' date=' there's not a lot of wiggle room (in regards to Protein intake) and not much in the way of support.[/quote']

I know exactly what you mean. I feel like I'm completely alone and coordinating my own care with the military.

  6. Hello!

    My words of encouragement are:

It really does get better :)

Hang in there and folllow your surgeons rules as close as possible.

Don't too down on yourself if you can't get all of your fluids or Protein in. I'm about 2 months out and some days I miss my goals. This is a lifetime change and you won't get the routine down your first few weeks out.

I hope that helped and I hope it gets better. We are here when you need us.

  7. I'm gonna chime in due to a recent gallbladder situation. I had constant nausea and my pain was toward the middle as well, but it radiated. When I had my first gallbladder attack, I just felt off. Nothing specific. I thought I had ate something I shouldn't have. I had stones before my surgery and it got worse after. I went to the ER and eventually I ended up having a second surgery 6 weeks after the sleeve. Please get checked and an ultrasound to make sure the stones haven't moved or increased in number.

    GL to you!

  8. Tomorrow will be six weeks and now down 37.2 pounds, my next official weigh in will be at my 3 month mark. I am finding getting the 900 calories I need hard still. The thought of eating at times makes me feel blah.....

Congratulations Jeni!! I understand exactly how you feel about eating. Sometimes I wish I could just take a pill 3 times a day and get all the nutrition I need.

NaturalRhapsody33, glad to hear you are feeling better and that your surgeon was able to use your VSG cuts plus now you have a new thing to Celebrate a inny belly button. This sound like a win win to me.

Today is one day short of my 4 weeks since my surgery and I am happy to report that I have lost drum roll please, 33 lbs total since the start of this journey. I lost about 7lbs prior during the liquid diet phase and 26 after surgery. I know I said that was only going to weigh myself each month, but I figure since tomorrow marks 4 weeks since my surgery, measuring myself a day before was not going show anything differently today then it would tomorrow. Also yesterday I walked 3 miles, it felt so good and then I went to dance practice. I woke up this morning feeling really good and refresh. When I looked in the mirror for the first time I noticed a change. So instead of pulling something out of my clothes were I have all of my big girl clothes, I ran to my other closet were I have my transition clothes of 16 and 18, I found a dress that I love and tried it on with my pj and was surprise it fit with clothes underneath. This dress is a 16. I guess I have some clean and reorganizing to do tonight. Moving all of my big girl clothes out of my main closet and bring my 16-18 down from the other closet. Boy, I feel really good. Now on to my next goal to loss an additional 30 lbs before my birthday.

Thank you! I'm relearning my body, but the weight is starting to come off, so I suppose I'm doing something right. Congrats on getting down to your other closet!! Way to go! We have similar goals. I want to lose another 20 before my sisters graduation in June. When is your birthday?

    Stay motivated!

  9. I went thru the 3 week stall and now I'm in a 5 week stall......it is frustrating but I try and remember that before the sleeve I was in a lifetime stall........ I was sleeved on march 21 and weighed 258 on surgery day and am only down 238. Some people say well u coulda saved all that money and done that on your own but I couldn't of because I was a food addict. Idk I am upset but all I can do is try harder.

I love the comparison to lifetime stall. I will have to add that to my inner dialouge when I'm upset over my stalls.

Don't let the naysayers belittle your progress. They couldn't lose 20 pounds in a month but you did!

Patkaye- I can't say anything other than what has already been said. Patience is key. Don't be discouraged and continue doing what you know you should. Your body will catch up to your brain :)
