  6. the nectar does fill me up! you want lots of different flavors because you WILL get bored with it... i have like 6 flavors i switch between
  7. my favorite is the nectar brand protein powders. you can get them at vitamin world and any vitamin type shop. They have lots of unique but good flavors... like cherry explosion, cappacinno, iced tea, pink grapefruit, calypso breeze, fruit punch, chocolate truffle, and strawberry mousse.you just mix them with water or milk. i recommend skim plus milk it is fat free like skim milk but has the flavor of 2 % milk and more calcium then whole milk
  8. i'm in central but having my surgery at SOCH (southern ocean county hospital) how about you ?
  9. the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so it's easier for the surgeon and for you. also helps to get a few pounds off before the surgery. I think they also do it so you get used to smaller amounts of food and being on the protein shakes... i am on day 8 of my pre op diet and i can eat very little and drink my shakes and i get full pretty easily... i couldn't if i wasn't on this diet and as far as people talking you out of this, don't let them... this will be a life changing thing that will make a better you... so good luck to you hope this helped!
  10. i like the nectar brand protein powders they have tons of flavors like cherry explosion, iced tea, pink grapefruit, chocolate truffle, strawberry mousse, kiwi strawberry, fruit punch and the list goes on. my nutritionist said that we need protein with the first ingredient is "Whey protein isolates" it's the purest of protein and there is 23 g of protein per scoop... i love the stuff and love how it makes me full too
  11. i did that too for a bit... hey where are you having your surgery? i am in nj too. i go for my surgery next friday! good luck to you
  12. kristen where are you having your surgery? that is the same exact diet i am on too for pre op
  13. hey kim! my name is ashley and while I haven't had the surgery yet, i am going next friday and the whole process leading to the surgery is an important time to get you ready for it. I too have been overweight my entire life and had similar issues with giaining and losing. I chose to have the surgery because i know with this i can't cheat after (yes i know i could) but the risks are too high to cheat in my opinion. While i LOVE food and i realize I am a food addict... i know that if i binge or eat something bad for me after it will make me sick. This is how I know I will stick to it. You will see on here lots of people say "cheat once, you won't again!" Now I can't talk from experience but the whole thought of getting sick from eating too much or stuff that is yummy but bad for you makes me want to follow the diet as close as I can. I am currently on the pre surgical diet of Protein shakes, sf pudding and Jello and yorgurt... it helps to shrink your liver for the surgery and i'm not gonna lie... it's hard but i want this soo bad. I think you need to come to a time in your life that you KNOW you want to change and keep it off (hopefully). I work with someone that had the lap band surgery and she lost like 200 lbs in less then 2 years and she looks awesome. that's how i know it works (And she didn't even exercise) sorry if i keep rambling but i hope it helped a little at least if you wanna chat more just message me good luck! Ashley

  18. nope just 2 weeks prior to surgery just had to go on a liver shrinking diet... includes 4 Protein shakes a day, and 6-8 servings of yogurt, sf pudding or Jello, a small salad, 64 oz of liquids a day and vitamans and Calcium supplements... it's getting easier but the first few days were tough i am on day 6 and it is getting easier for sure.
  19. my bmi is 63 and since i started the pre surgical diet I lost 20 lbs already and i am getting banded in 10 days. I have about 250 to lose all together and was also feeling like the fattest one but i feel better now

A healthier you, you can go shopping ANYWHERE, you can fit into any seat and your thighs won't rub together anymore lol... just to name a few... hang in there! we all have your back Ashley
  23. just keep at it rrr! I am on day 6 and i was able to eat a cup of lettuce, a protein drink and couldn't even finish a yogurt.. i was full! my stomach is finally getting used to the little amounts of food. wait... you have to fast for 2 weeks? how does that work ? or is it just a liquid diet?
