  1. Thank you for your quick response- that was very helpful. I emailed the surgeon with my concerns and have arranged to speak with him over the phone next week as the surgeon is 200mil away. I will keep you posted- I am not willing to do the RNY and will seek a second opinion if this surgeon will not do the surgery of my choice. In Canada the surgery of choice is the RNY because they feel it has more success stories. It is going to be a battle to get the surgery of MY choice but I am willing to fight for what I believe is right for me.
  2. My surgeon is insisting on doing the RNY- I do not feel this is the surgery for me. I want to do the VSG. I take a lot of pain medications & already have a food tolerance issue due to a liver disease. I am looking for help with what to take to my surgeon to convince him that the VSG IS right for me. Can anyone offer me some tips & pointers please.
  3. I have researched the weight loss surgeries and feel that the VSG is the best option for me. My surgeon who saw me for under 10minutes advised me that he is going to do the RNY surgery- what are my options and how do I convince the surgeon to do the VSG? I need some advise. I have an appointment to call the surgeon on Thursday afternoon- am looking for help and advise. I will not do the RNY surgery as I do not feel it is right for me but I KNOW I need to have this surgery or I am going to die. I am open to suggestions on what to say to my surgeon.
