Leaking, leaking, leaking
I stayed the same weight give or take for 6 months and the same as you with the eating. Two months agao he filled it to the max and I also had to go for an unfill. Refilled to the max on Jan 8th due to 3cc's missing, and was full tight and slowly it is getting less and less as the weeks go by. Now I have constant heartburn and discomfort. It is sooo frustrating.

Band to Sleeve Revision with a BMI of 29?
I was banded on 12/12/11. I have had many problems with the band from leaking and no restriction to reflux, stomach discomfort when eating, and constant heartburn. My Dr. put in for a band to sleeve revision due to band complications and I just got a letter from the insurance company saying it was approved. I have gone from 207lbs to about 160 pounds but it has been a very uncomfortable ride and I worry what kind of problems I will have in the future if I am already having problems after only 1 year. I really didnt think my insurance would approve it with a BMI of only 29. I have never heard of anyone with this low BMI have the revision. I was wondering what kind of guidance those who have the sleeve or are on their way there may have. My Dr. says your body will only lose so much weight and then plateau. I am very nervous about this whole situation.

Leaking, leaking, leaking
Hi, I share your pain. I too have had missing cc's over the past year. All kinds of tests and my Dr. says I am a mystery. I go from no restriction to tight to no again. Now I have constant heartburn, hicupping and reflux. My Dr. put in for band to sleeve revision and my insurance approved it but I am very scared to go through all this again. I am down from 207 to about 160 however I have had nothing but failure and discomfort from the band. I really have to weigh my options. Good luck to you, I really hope it all works out.

Fill problem
My last fill on 1/8 I felt really tight. I have been too tight and had to go for an unfil, however this time I just couldn't eat much and had slight discomfort when I ate. I stuck it out since I was keeping food and liqued down. It has gotten much better and I am feeling better each day. When I was too tight and couldn't keep water down I went right back for an unfil, I couldn't live like that, plus you can slip, get dehydrated, etc... Call your Dr. if it doesn't get better.

Love my band :)
Thanks for the info, I have been having many problems with my band since having it on 12/21. A possible slow leak, no restriction, etc... My surgeon said my insurance would probably cover the rivision if my band is faulty even though I only weigh 163 now. I am just a bit nervous about starting from scratch again. Thanks again.

Slight discomfort when eating one week after fill...
My fill was on the 8th. I am still having some discomfort but most of my food and liquid is staying down. I go back in February so I am going to stick it out and see if it gets any better.

Slight discomfort when eating one week after fill...
I have had a rocky road since being banded 12/21/11. My Dr. thought I had a leak because 5cc's went missing and I never had restriction for long. Recently they put in 2 1/2 cc's and I had to go back for an unfill because I couldn't keep anything down. I went for some tests, no leak was found had another fill of about 2 cc's and now I think I should have 7 to 8 cc's in my band again. I am keeping food down and liquids, have had some minor trouble with water, don't know why, all other liquid goes down fine. I do have a slight discomfort as the food goes down and a few times the burps after I eat or drink. I have never even felt the band working before so I am not sure if this is normal. I don't want to get an unfill because it feels like the first time the band is actually working. I have no hunger between meals and can only eat a cup or so of food. The discomfort is bearable. Can I just be swollen? Does anyone else feel any discomfort as the food goes down shortly after a fill?

Where has all my saline gone?
I have been banded a year December 21st. I have had many fills and should have been at 10cc's which is about what my band holds. However I have no restriction again and when I go in for a fill they are only able to pull out 5 or 6 cc's. I did have an overfill once where I felt so much restriction I couldnt keep down water, it was a rough week but I was almost glad to know my band was there. I had a slight unfill and an adjustment under flouroscopy to check for leaks in my band, they found nothing wrong and put back the fluid and again no restriction at all. I am getting no answers accept that this is rare. Its very frustrating. I lost 40 pounds in the first five months and than nothing since. I am going for a fill again on January 8th. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Please Help to Clarify
In the beginning you won't be able to eat so much. I did not eat that much for months. Take it slow and let your body let you know when enough is enough right now. You are still healing. Good luck!

Flouro to check for a leak, no leak, no restriction...
I have had a rocky month. Banded since 12/21/11. Should have had a full band, however 4cc's disappeared somewhere. Two weeks ago when she only pulled out 6cc's instead of 10cc's, I was filled so tight I couldnt eat or drink. One week later got a 1cc unfill. Went Monday for a flouroscopy with contrast to check for leaks. There was no leaks but now I feel like I am back to no restriction. This is becoming very frustrating. I wonder if taking out fluid and putting it back in so much is bad for the band or stretches it out or something.

Unfill and feeling much better.
Yesterday morning went for a unfill due to a week of discomfort from heartburn and regurgitating everything. I lost 5 pounds in 6 days but I would rather lose 1 pound a week and be comfortable. I feel like a different person. Thanks for all those who's guidance I followed.

Is This It Or Could I Be Too Tight
Im having similiar issues. Calling Dr. for a unfill tomorrow morning. I am keeping small amounts of solids and liqueds down, but have pain whenever I swallow, massive reflux and heartburn. I was supposed to have 10cc's in my band but they said 4cc's disappeared somewhere along the way. She put 2 1/2 in last Tuesday and couldnt keep water down so she took 1/2 cc out. Now I think I need another 1/2 out. It is very frustrating.

Pain eating and drinking after fill...
My fill was last Tuesday. Now have 8cc's in a 10cc band. Never had much restriction before but now I have a pain in my band whenever I try to drink or eat. It doesn't come back up but I can only eat or drink a little bit. I have never felt pain in my band before. I am going to call Monday morning but I worry that something is wrong. I have so much acid and burning too which I never had before.

Is this normal after a fill?
I go next thursday for a fill adjustment with contrast under floroscopy to see where the missing 4cc's went, however, I am so tight right now I think I do need a unfill of a little bit. Since I can keep small amounts of food and liqued down, I think I can wait till Thursday and just have him take a half CC out to see if the pain in my band gets better.

Is this normal after a fill?
Thanks, water is going down but I feel it and any food I eat and I get a pain in my band after I swallow. I have also had terrible heartburn in my band area that wakes me up at night.

Is this normal after a fill?
I was banded on 12/21/11. I lost 40 pounds the first 5 months and had many fills and nothing. Somewhere along the way I lost 4ccs. They said I should be at 10 but when I went the other day she was only able to pull about 6ccs out. She put in 2 1/2 more cc's and had to take a 1/2 out because i couldn't keep down any water. Now two days later I am able to eat Greek Yogurt, about 3 tablespoons of Chili, and I chopped up some broccoli and chicken in my chopper and ate about 4 or 5 spoonfulls. I have a pain when I swallow right where the band is and the first night it hurt to even swallow. However, it seems to be getting better each day and the little bit of food I eat is staying down. Is my band too tight? Should I be able to eat more than a few forkfulls two days after the fill with no pressure. I am going for a fill adjustment with fluroscopy next week to see if my band is leaking, however I feel so much restriction now I think they were missing my port.

40 Pounds In 8 Months And Frustrated
I eat about 1200 calories a day. Sometimes less.

I Feel As No Band Is There.
It took me 4 fills until I felt any restriction. I was able to eat almost anything and a lot of it. Now I have 7cc's and I finally feel some restriction. Things get stuck and really hurt if I dont chew well, and there are many foods I can't eat anymore. I feel like it is relearning all over again. Hang in there, it will come.

40 Pounds In 8 Months And Frustrated
I was banded on Dec. 21st. By April I had lost about 40 pounds. I have no pretty much stayed the same give or take 3 pounds up or down for the past 4 months. I walk 10-15 miles a week and I try to eat right, however, I don't always make the right choices. I have 7cc's in my band and go for a fill on Oct. 2. Since my last fill I can finally feel some restriction. If I don't chew well or eat something I shouldn't, it gets stuck and it is very painful. Sometimes it comes back up, but more often then not I just have to wait out the pain. I have this fear that I won't lose anymore weight now that I have stayed the same for 4 months. The only thing I am guilty of is I do not take my vitamins and drink enough water. Any suggestions or similiar experiences would help. Thanks!

Third Adjustment...not Feeling Restriction Yet....help!!!!
I just got my fourth fill and I am at 7cc's. I had no restriction before and now I finally have some. I thought my band was broken before. I was banded in December, lost 38 pounds and then stopped. In the two weeks since my fill, I have to watch everything I eat, chew, chew, chew, and get full much quicker. I have never thrown up,however I do get stuck feeling with horrible pain if I don't chew well or eat something I shouldn't. I have heard that it takes some people many fills to reach restriction. I can now say I believe this is true. Good luck.
