"Dumping" Syndrom?
I am 6 weeks out and have experiened this a few times. I can eat and enjoy my food but 20 minutes later I get a severe stomach ache and have to run to the bathroom no matter where i am. It has gotten better with me this week because I am watching what I eat knowing that what caused my dumping was heavy cream in dairy foods, and greasy foods. Once it was a simple omelette at diner but they made it greasy and another time was cream soup. Now I just introduce new foods slowly and have been kind of playing it safe with foods I know I can handle.

When did you see a change?
I think it depends on how much you have to loose. I weighed in at 206 12/21/11 when I got my band so I had a low BMI. I lost 45 pounds and than had my revision o n May 6th and have lost 20 since. I think I felt the difference at about 30 pounds because I needed to buy new cloths!

Band to Sleeve Revision Pics before and after
- surgery 3 months ago- down 45 pounds- before and after attached
You look beautiful!- Who knew this sleeve could do so much
Congrats! Keep up the good work.- Side pain
I am 6 weeks post op and about 2-3 weeks I developed a sharp pain under my left breast when I breathed. My Dr. said it is a suture that they put in the top of the stomach and it is normal. Needless to say I felt like I was dying for about a week and than the pain traveled to my back behind my ribs. That lasted a few days and now I am fine.- Almost 6 weeks out and neusea getting so much worse...
I am almost six weeks out and not eating anything I shouldn't. I am cleared for normal food but find I am too nauseous to eat much. I am getting in my protein with Greek Yogurt and some chicken and stuff but it is getting tough. I am trying to get my liquids in but they make me feel yucky too. Probably getting about 40oz liquid. I tried acid reducer and nothing. I called to refill the nausea meds they gave me in the hospital but they are some sort of dissolving pill that I put on my tongue and they knock me out. Will this pass? I sure hope so.- 8th day of post op
Cream soup gets me very ill with dumping. Be careful and introduce it slowly.- New Orleans eating out
I have been eating fish with no problems at almost 6 weeks out. Just watch for bones.- Weight Gain
I gained 8 pounds and was very unhappy about it. But I lost that plus 5 more after about 2 weeks. I think it is all water weight.- Fruits and Vegetables?
I am 5 weeks out and my Dr. says I can try fruit/veggies as tolerated. i have eaten broccoli, coliflower, string beans and carrots no problems. I have tried fruit in my Greek Yogurt with no issues and some pears and peaches from a can in water no syrup. Everything has been going weil in small doses.- 5 weeks post op and feeling bouts of nausea during the day...
Had my revision on May 6th and have had an easy ride so far. All of a sudden the past week I am getting bouts of nausea throughout the day. Water makes me feel especially nauseous. Had anyone experienced this and if so what can I do to help. I was thinking it may be acid and I should try Prilosec or something like it.- Nausea
I am 5 weeks post op revision tomorrow and am suffering the same thing all of a sudden. DId you happen to find out what it was?- For those who had band to sleeve in one surgery..
Had my revison in one surgery on May 6th. No unfill and was also a piece of cake. Think I was already used to eating little potions so I did not suffer any hunger issues.- 4 Weeks post op
Lean ground beef like chili or ground beef doesn't seem to cause any issues with me. I am 5 weeks out tomorrow. Can't eat much of it but it works.- 4 Weeks post op
I make baked ziti for my family and I take some ground beef and put low fat rigatta cheese and some mozzerella on it with some sauce and its deilcious. I just dont eat the ziti part. I can also eat chicken and i smush some brcolli up and mash it together.- 4 Weeks post op
Congrats on your 18.5 pounds. I am almost 5 weeks post revision and have been on pureed now soft since 14 days. My Dr. is less stingent on the diet than most. I have been very careful eating only softer foods and watching my portions. YOu will do great!- Antidepressants & Rapid Weight Loss
I have been taking Lexapro for years. Since my band and then revision I have went from 206 to 147. I have not reduced mine. I think they deal with the Seratonin levels. Check with your Dr. if your not sure but I have been fine on the same dose.- Life after the sleve....
Had my revision on May 6th. I think I was used to eating little portions with the band so I really haven't had much of problem with any food. My surgeons diet restrictions are a little conservative so I was on soft to regular as tolerated after 2.5 weeks. I can eat more than a lot of people at this stage like 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food. I can eat rice which some can't for a long time. I can eat a whole Greek Yogurt no problem. A friend of mine was eating a quarter cup for months. I guess everyone is different. I still won't attempt bread or pasta for awhile because of the fear I still have from the band. I couldn't eat those things than and since they are fattening I am trying to stay clear of them for awhile.- May sleevers results so far!
I had my revision surgery on May 6th. SW 164.5 CW 148 HT 5'3"- Ice cream
I am almost 5 weeks post op and tried a little bit of soft vanilla ice cream. It didn't make me sick but a little bloated and uncomfortable. Some people have problems with heavy dairy in the beginning. Its touch and go.- Had my one month post op revision check-up today...
I had my band for 16 1/2 months and lost about 45 pounds. Had my revsion on May 6th and at my apt. today went from 164.5 to 148.5. Don't think I have been in the 140's since I got pregnant with my now 15 year old. I feel amazing and had no complications, a very easy recovery, and I am eating with very little problems. I am so happy I decided to revise.- Unapologetic Brag Post
You look awesome! I just bought a little black dress for the first time in about 15 years. Rock it girl! - surgery 3 months ago- down 45 pounds- before and after attached
