  1. So I'm tracking my food again and losing! Who knew?

  2. So I decided on Sunday that maybe my problem was that i had stopped logging my food. So I started logging on Sunday and by this morning had lost 2.5 lbs (had gained 2 while traveling) so now I am actually down 1/2 lb from my low before. And that was since 3/6/11. So that was the deal. Without tracking my food, I must have been just simply consuming too much without even realizing it.

Looking to and living for Tomorrow

I don't know why anyone would EVER want to reverse this surgery :-) You've made a great decision! I've never even understood why plications exist. Why would you want to have all of the rest of your stomach still hanging around and possibly causing problems? Good luck with your surgery! It is all SO worth it!

    Young Sleevers

When I was in my 20's and 30's and would lose, up to 50 lbs sometimes, my skin just went right back to normal. Now that I am 57 and need to lose 100 lbs that is just NOT going to happen. I'm just a little over half way there and my skin is awful! So congratulations to all of you young gals that are having it done NOW. Wish I would have had something like that when I was your age.
  5. Wow! You had my undivided attention through that whole post! You are an amazing writer!! So glad you are on the other side now :-) Congratulations on being sleeved! It is the best thing I have ever done for myself! Even with being at a month long stall - it's still the best!
  6. Got home from Dallas on Wednesday night and was up 2 lbs on Thursday morning!!! Down 1 of them by this morning but I am getting ready to leave again on Sunday morning for another trip to Orlando, Miami and Nashville for another week. I don't think all of this travel agress with me. I can't believe that I am no further along today than I was amost 3 months ago!

Are We Doing Atkins After Being Sleeved????

My nutritionist told me absolutely NOT! She said I had to have between 100-130 grams of carbs a day to keep my brain going!
  9. I agree with Lilu above. I have a feeling that you wife is concerned that if YOU are going to this "extreme" measure to lose weight that you must not like being fat (or others that are fat!) and that if she is not ready to also commit to this that you will no longer love her. May sound silly but human nature is a funny thing. There are several couples here on the board that have both had the surgery. It is the best thing I have ever done. Even though I am at a major stall right now with 43 lbs still to go to get to a normal BMI, I am so thrilled with what I have accomplished so far. I feel like I am me again. I will tell you though that about a month or so ago, my hubby announced that he didn't want to be the "fat guy" with me losing so much weight. He thought maybe he would have the surgery too but I actually suggested that he try Atkins first (since he has never dieted in his life!). He went on Atkins and lost 30 lbs in a month! He is so excited! Every day he is announcing new things he can do better, like tie his shoes or bend down! I have never seen him so excited! He was supportive of me from the beginning but I think when he started seeing me lose weight that he figured he'd better do something too. Of course it made NO difference to me what size he was, I just wanted him to be healthy and feel good. I would absolutely take her to your appointments and if there are any seminars you can go to, take her to those as well. And here's my personal opinion, hoping it doesn't offend. . .if she thinks YOU are being selfish and not thinking about the kids, how selfish is it for her to remain morbidly obese and think that she is even going to be around to finish raising your kids?
  10. That is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! What an incredible inspiration for us all!
  11. Can't seem to budge. It's been three weeks of no progress at all. Just got to Dallas yesterday and will be here for a week without a scale. Maybe I can break my scale addiction LOL! I've only lost 6.5 lbs since January 1st.

  12. Another 2 week stall. . .UGH.

  13. I use MyFitnessPal.com. Not sure if they have an app for the smart phones but I would imagine that they do.

    I do have one problem!!!

We have started our own little support group here in Southern CA (huge thanks to *Sleeve4Me" who got it all going!) and we get together every couple of months. One of the things that we have been able to do is to keep passing along clothing to whoever needs it. If someone who is losing really quickly gets a bag of clothing and then can no longer wear it in a month then they pass it back through the group. It's been working great! Our group is getting together again on Saturday and I am bringing another big box to the group to see who needs anything.
  24. 15 weeks???? WOW! You are doing amazing! Keep it up!
  25. Finally dropped 1/2 pound after another 2 week stall. I just want to get out of the 190's!
