I really wish that either fills were and exact science where based on your stomach(internally) they could know the exact amount to put in for the green zone...or....that i could somehow externally tighten/loosen my band when i wanted to! What would you change about your band?

Your in banster hell..the time between surgery and when you start getting fills...the first 6 weeks is about healing...now a month on liquids seems a bit extreme to me..but u should follow your doctors orders..once u start regular foods u may gain weight to..being on liquids for that long your body will be in shock when u start real food and will hold on to everything you eat...hang in there hun it will get better.

I went in for another unfill today..had one on friday..guess what. My doctor mistakingly gve me a .5cc fill on friday instead of an unfill! I was too relieved once he fixed me to even be upset!

congrats i too finally hit onederland and was sick when it happened. great way to celebrate!

i am going through a very similiar situation..i have lost 18 pounds since my fill 2 weeks ago. got a slight unfill on friday,,still not enough..last nite i woke up 4 times literally choking on stomach acid. i havent eaten any real food since wed on the 4th...still dont know how i was able to do that with no problem since then i've been living on soup(broth really). finally getting to see my doc today. this happened to me in nov. i think 1cc is too big of a fill for me..so friday he took out .5cc's i'm gonna ask him to take out at least .3cc's that way my fill will actually be .2cc's praying all is well with you..i am starting to feel crappy..couldnt work today. i did make sure my blood sugars were fine..havent worked out in 2weeks! ugh!

@ 2muchfun....i even tried slider foods and they were a no go. thanks everyone for the support. i finally got a hold of the doctor and i'm goin in today at 2:15 for another unfill...he needs to really explain to me what patients are supposed to do in case of an emergency cuz there current system doesnt work! i'm just glad my job was understanding and i get to see the doc today.

Ok so i went in for the unfill on Friday. Glad to know that I dont have a leak and everything is where it's supposed to be. As of this morning i am down 15 pounds since my fill 2 weeks ago(tomorrow). i still am just able to get in liquids, so i have been living off egg drop soup. i dont have an appetite, but every time i try something with more consistency i get stuck after a few(and i do mean few) bites. My question is to those who like their band tight, how do you do it? I can barely get in my protein, but this is my focus..i'm praying that since the weather has cooled off some it will get better. HELP I NEED TO KNOW THIS IS GOING TO GET BETTER! i cant go in for another unfill as i am self pay and i just paid $250 2 weeks ago....is there a chance my band will loosen on it's on in the next few days?

I am very leery of doctors that have a set amount for fills...everyone is different..and 5cc's may be ok for you but too much for another and not enough of another..I think it should be done on a case by case basis. Just my 2 cents

This is the part I dislike about the band...I wish fills were a exact science according to your stomach size or something..this too tight too loose back and forth is driving me crazy..I just wanna pull my hair out sometimes..i've dropped 15 pounds in 2 weeks and got a slight unfill 11 days into my fill and I still think it needs to be just a little looser...well i'm self pay and just paid $250 for my last fill 2 weeks ago and don't have another $250 laying around...i'm praying once this hot weather calms down I can eat better...ugh!

I am about 14 months out and I feel you...I got a fill 2 weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds in that time...to me that's too fast...I can usually keep liquids down..and everything else is hit or miss..I had a slight unfill about 11 days after my last fill and i'm still not convinced it is enough out....my problem is I am self pay so everytime I go I pay $250..take a half day off work (unpaid)...so far my job has been accommodating but I know I can't continue to do this...so i'm praying once it cools off here in chicago that my band will give and allow me to eat more consistently.

Yes it's great to have the support of "total strangers" than people who know you and don't support you..just know that we are traveling this journey togethe and are here to support each other.

if you are going through the various food stages: from liquids to pureed to mushies to soft..you can expect to gain a little..if you have been on liquids before your surgery and after your body is kinda in shock. so as soon as you introduce something other than liquids your body is gonna be confused. dont be alarmed perfectly normal.

yes you are not alone. maybe you're afraid of the pressure of maintaining when you get to goal, this way you are always working towards your goal. i know for me to shop on the regular side of the clothing store still freaks me out and i almost have a panic attack. i still cant make myself go into store that dont sell plus sized clothing as well as regular. i totally understand you.

it's amazing how rude people can be. i dont know why people feel it's ok to say soooo how much have you lost...none of your freakn business! ugh! i choose to tell a few close people cuz everyone wasnt suppportive. if you have friends that are heavy dont be surprized by their lack of support or even jealousy as you start to loose. this was one thing i didnt see coming.. congrats to both of you!

i dont think you can have pudding, but you can have SF jello and SF popcicles.

ok so i went in for my fill on monday (the 25th).. i had gained 8 pounds since my last unfill in march. i am really tight now. i can eat solid food, just very little..i mean like 4-5 bites(not sure how many ounces). my appetite is totally gone for the most part and i lost 10 pounds in the first week after the fill. my question is do you guys think i need a slight unfill cuz of my rapid weight loss or do you think my body has just been shocked back into loosing?

thanks momomia..i am now able to get liquids down, but i am on liquids till tomorrow..almost afraid to try solids, so i think i'll just ease my way into mushies and soft foods first,. i can help but wonder if this heat in chicago is making my band worse too. what has been your experience with high tempertures and your band.

i've had at least 5 fills and 2 unfills..going in for another unfill on friday and it's never been painful...the area is numbed and other than that quick pinch all i feel is pressure. i have never felt the fluid going in the band and i am curious how you did. wow i couldnt imagine that. i hope things get better for you sooon
