  1. Thinoneday said no potatoes, rice, pasta, bread... how come??? I have been eating potatoes (mashed) rice (not much, just a little when I was at an East Indian friend's house) and bread (a half a slice of ww toast with my egg in the morning since two weeks out. Thanks Russ
  2. Could you tell what the lecture would involve about the food and leaks? I was three weeks out on the 6th and I am eating pretty well everything (in small amounts) but NO beef. I have not had any problems but could I still get a leak? Russ
  3. Quote:I am just unable to tolerate anything more than a few sips of juice a day. On a really good day I can just about have 6 - 8 tea spoons of soup. Is this normal ? For some this may be normal depending how the VSG is done. I am three weeks out and I do not have to sip like that because of the way my VSG was done. I can drink a 16 oz. Protein shake (Water only) or water in 5 to 10 minutes. All the best Russ
  4. Quote:With the sleeve I know everyone keeps saying they eat anything they want but can you eat spicy food? That's the one thing I was worried about having to give up permanently. I am just 3 weeks out but from what I am experiencing and what I have been told you can eat whatever your tummy will let you. The soda thing for some time though would not be good, too acidic. I had a little East Indian food on Sat. - no problem but that is the way my stomach was before. All the best, Russ!
  5. Thank you so much thinoneday and Lee. I don't feel like a freak so much now. How long does it take before you start sleeping normally?
  6. Well life is good! I am three weeks out and down 25lbs. My wife is down 11lbs. We have been enjoying bike riding this past week (although not quite like our normal bike ride just yet). We have discovered a new love for Red sockeye salmon (high in protein, 3 oz 20 grams) Sometimes we wake up at 3 or 4 and have problems going back to sleep. Has any one else experienced this?
  7. Hi I am sleeved from March16th. It is great! The first day it was rough but after that a breeze. It is nice not being able to eat much and being satisfied. I am done 20lbs already. You will not regret this at all. I watched something on the net recently about the last 7 years of the biggest losers and most gained the weight back. You still can eat whatever but you can't eat much of it! All the best Russ!
  8. Hi David, Good choice you made with going with the sleeve. I was done March 16th and I am down 20lbs already! All the best and be sure to keep us up dated! Russ
  9. Hey, who is that first picture of? Wow you look fantastic! You will inspire many with your story God bless you! Russ
  10. I earlier stated my sleeve date was March 17 but it was really March 16th, oops! So we are in our 10th day out and doing great. On the scales today Russ down 12lbs, Sonia down 8lbs!!! Is this for real? Anyway I will keep bringing our progress...
  11. Just a comment on grams of Protein. Most people can only absorb 24 grams of protein at a time. People that take servings that boast of 30 or 32 are just wasting it. So when you take your protein, 24 grams is the max at one serving.
  12. I just sleeved March 17. Let me say you need to have only clear fluids for the three days prior. If you do this it will lessen the gas pain that you have for first days after. I didn't do the three days and I paid for it. All the best!
  13. I just got my VSG in a Tijuana clinic which was voted top private medical clinic for both 2009 & 2010 on March 17 it is the evening of March 19th now and I am feeling great. I fly home to Canada tomorrow. The doctor, Dr. Pompa is a leader and pioneer in the field trained at Mayo Clinic in Florida. the fee is only $7900 and they pick you up at the hotel in San Deigo and take you back when you are done. Anyone feel free to contact me
  14. St. Patties day was the day for both my wife and I to have the sleeve. This is so dramatic! I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the sleeve was are only way to go. We are from S.W. Ontario and welcome any feedback!
