  1. I was so scared around the fifth month post op that I went to natural dark color (stopped coloring blonde) and cut about 9 inches off. It has helped with the hair loss. I have to say that now 8 months post op... I'm not seeing so much shedding. I have not noticed any new hair growth though...
  2. Lol...I know exactly what you mean (the look on your face) when someone refers to you as skinny! I'm in shock...I'm thinking ME? No way!! cause I just don't see it at times...It's good to know that I'm not crazy My twin sister gets annoyed with me...she says "You have to be kiddin me, right? You just like people to tell you that you're skinny!" How can you not see it? She just doesn't understand... Are you exercising? how often? how long if you are?
  3. Hi Rebecca, I don't consider myself a veteran, but can tell ya that I had my surgery 4/8/10 and it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Your concerns and worries are normal. I thought of so many things that could possibly go wrong, but then I thought of all the good and positive that could come out of it. I have a new life and I'm able to do things with my kids that I couldn't do before. My outlook and attitude has changed and I'm a much happier person now that I'm healthier. Focus on positive thoughts and continue to find the support you need on this site. I will say a prayer for you...everything will we fine!
  4. Hello! This is your health and well-being. You are an adult capable of making your own decisions. I would not allow anyone (including my sister) to decide something as important as this. Your sister might not agree with your decison, but she should support you and respect you and your decisions. Maybe you can be an inspiration to her after your surgery, so that she could do something about her weight and health.. Good Luck!
  5. Hello, I think that for me, I have not yet come to the realization that I am thin. I reached my goal approximately 3 months after surgery. It's now eight months after surgery and when I walk into a clothing store, my mind tells me "you need to go to the pluz size side of this store". I think that it takes a little to adjust to so many changes that are going on (on all levels). My goal weight was 130 lbs and I'm weighing 125. I don't want to lose any more weight. I would just like to maintain at this point.
  6. Hello, I was sleeved April 8 and lost the 65lbs I needed to in approximately 3 months. My goal weight was 130 lbs...at the present I weigh 125. I do fluctuate within a 5lb range. At first I lost sleep over this 5lb fluctuation, I was terrified. Mentally I got back on track and when I worked out, I'd work an extra 15-20 mins..I think about that 5lb fluctuation when I'm tempted to eat what I'm not supposed to, and I think that it helps me to make better choices. Don't be discouraged! I think that our fears of stretching our pouch and gaining weight is normal...As long as we acknowledge what needs to be acknowledged and make the necessary changes, we will be o.k...
