How much does the sleeve really stretch??
Thanks to everyone for your posts, it really helps to keep me focused! So easy when everyone else is eating junk to want a bite too. Made a delicious chocolate cake yesterday for everyone for Father's Day and I couldn't have any. But strangely enough I didn't really want it. It's starting to bother me to see other people eat horribly. Am I going to be a food Natzi?

I need some help with a 400 calorie daily intake
Concentrate on getting in 60 gms of protein in. Fluids will not fill you up for more than 2 hrs, at least that is about it for me, maybe an hour and a half. When I started the denser proteins like chicken or beef, I am full for a lot longer (3 hrs). Be sure not to drink right after eating your meal or it won't stay in your stomach as long. I've seen anywhere from 30 to 90 min suggested before drinking anything. I've not had any problem eating anything. I can eat toast or crackers but try to limit them to once a day with tuna salad or some kind of protein.

Three weeks+ stall, Help
It's completely reasonable to get discouraged when things are not going your way. And yet, as reasonable as it may be, getting discouraged and staying discouraged won't do you any good. Fortunately, you don't always have to be reasonable. You can choose to meet every setback not with discouragement, but with hope and positive passion and enthusiasm for moving forward. There's always a next step that you can take, so take it. Sure, that next step may not work out, and yet it is infinitely better than giving up. Life's greatest successes will often defy reason. Even when there is no logical, reasonable way, there is a way. Your mind and its reasoning ability are amazingly powerful. And yet, there is more to life than just reason. When you must, go beyond reason and feel the positive driving passion of your purpose. Feel the passion, persist through every challenge, and bring your dream to life. -- Ralph Marston

what does FULL feel like?
Boy I am the same way, It is taking me all day to get in 40-50 oz of fluids. I have had only a few days when I actually got in over 60. But I keep plugging away at it. I'm doing ok on the protien, but I'm getting tired of meat. I was never a big meat eater. It will work out, I'm just glad that I am tolerating everything ok. Finally lost another lb this week. Still amazed that it's not more.

what does FULL feel like?
Have you tried the isopure zero carb drinks, they are 40gms of protein? You can get them at The Vitamin Shoppe. They have about 8 different flavors I think.

3 Weeks & At A Stall...Need Help
Solids will help. I was having the same problem with the shakes and full liquids going through too fast and then wanting to eat every 2 hrs. With solid protein it is much better. Chicken, fish, hamburger that I have tried stays with me a lot longer 3-4 hrs. I've not had any problem with any food that I have eaten as long as I don't eat too fast, or too much. The scale finally moved today one pound, I think I might just put it away for a while. I'm looking at the thing all the time.

3 Weeks & At A Stall...Need Help
Yep, me too, the 3 week stall. Have not lost any more for 9 days now. I keep hearing that our bodies just need to adjust, but I know how you feel. I don't have a problem eating anything in particular, though I can only eat about 4 ounces. Have been getting in all my protein, and eating about 800 cal a day on average. Just started really doing more though as today was the first really pain free day I have had. I feel great!

what does FULL feel like?
I have that feeling in my throat if I eat too fast or not chew enough. It has been really hard to keep eating slow. We had company this weekend and I would forget and really had to concentrate, get up and do something else to slow down. Not had any problem eating anything, even ate a little piece of chocolate because I was constipated and thought it would speed things up... it didn't. Doing well though, first day that I have not had any pain!!! now they just itch!! ha ha

What am I doing wrong?
Same thing with me, as soon as I ended the full liquid diet, it's been going up and coming back down to the same number for the past 10 days. I am tending to be a little constipated too so that may be part of it. As near as I can tell I am only eating about 800 cal a day, but today is the first day I haven't hurt really, so I haven't been exercising as all. Been getting some walking in, but have to go to Costco or something like that and walk around the mall its so hot here now.

Creamy Jalapeno Sauce

Two Weeks Since Surgery
It's all Water for sure. I had my sleeve May 17 and have kind of stalled the past 5 days, up and down 2 lbs. You are more active than I am, still have incisional pain so walking some but not real exercise. But I am older so healing is slower for me too. Just having my 2 yr old grand daughter over for an afternoon wears me out. when she left last weekend I slept for an hour. ha ha... I think you are doing great is what I'm trying to say. I am supposed to take 2 flintstone complete chewable Vitamins a day, 3 Calcium citrate chewables, and a B12 sublingual once a week.

ounces ounces ounces
Yep I was going to say the same thing, I have not been able to get in more than I should at one time.

Day 7: My Protein Struggle
It gets better, the first week I couldn't get as much in as needed either, but the fluids are much easier now. I found that if I have a carnation no sugar added instant breakfast and added one scoop of UNJURY (order on line) I got a big start on the protein, 33 gms. Then I sip all day on nectur lemon protein drink 24 gms of protein ( the lemon is really good I actually put a little crystal lite lemonade in it to give it a little more of a kick) Nectur is found at the Vitamin shoppe. I like it now better than the Isopur no carb drinks.

FIRST post op appointment today and the weight loss is..............
Congratulations, better than I did. I have lost 21 but it includes the 2 wk preop diet. kind of hit a lull this week, haven't lost any in 4 days, but I keep hearing that it is common during the 3rd week.

Bowels anyone have issues?
Definitely ask him or his PA, I went 6 days but the miralax worked for me. However there was really not anything solid in there when it did work. So you getting your drain pulled tomorrow? I was so happy to have that out.

Help with 5 year history...
I think they actually believe that big BMI people will have a better outcome with surgery and fewer complications if they exercise and loose weight prior. Some people are so out of shape they can not walk around the block and are poor surgical risks. Believe me your insurance company does not want any complications!

Pre- op diet blues
The pre-op diet is much harder than following the diet after surgery! The important thing is to lose weight so that your liver is easier for them to move during surgery. My doctors staff told me he once refused to do surgery on someone that didn't follow their pre-op diet. He just closed her up! So I stuck to it as best as I could, lost 12 lbs preop. Work hard, it is so worth it!!!

What am I doing wrong?
I'm about the same size as you and have hit a stall too. I was surprised this morning that I had not lost any more weight. Have been at 217 for a week, but I keep reading that with the lower BMIs it comes off slower. I haven't started exercising yet as I still have incisional pain and have trouble walking for very long due to that. But when I dieted I ate a lot more and lost weight, so it will come off! It has too, so I'll just keep plugging along. It's only been a little over 2 weeks since surgery and I just started the soft diet this week. I will be more conscious about my fluids, didn't get them in yesterday. Let me know how your doing!

My APRON ----UGHHHH!!!!
By all means have the VSG over the tummy tuck. By experience I had one 15 years ago, due to breast cancer and tram surgical reconstruction of the breast. You get a tummy tuck with this, I was overweight (by about 25-30 lbs) but not obese then. Since, I have gained 80 lbs and you gain it all over in places you never gained before because a lot of your abdominal fat is gone. I probably have a ton of fat inside, my legs got huge, my back, rear, arms etc.
