    65-70 lbs to lose

True true, I haven't been keeping track.... being totally honest, I think I stopped about when I stopped loosing any wt, it was going so slow it was just driving me crazy. But slow is better than 0 for sure. I have been trying to get back on track, signed up for a yoga class and paid money to make sure I went, saw a nutritionist who said I wasn't eating enough. I need to start logging everything again and need a kick in the bu........ ! Thanks for responding.
  2. Congratulations! I haven't been on hear in a while. Glad you are expecting, I remember you saying that you wanted too.

I really am having a hard time loosing, I haven't lost anymore weight since October so I'm getting frustrated. I can eat anything without any problems so it's hard to not fall into old habits. I haven't gained any, but not loosing either. I ...

    65-70 lbs to lose

I'm having a really hard time. I had my surgery May 2010 and I have only lost 40 lbs. I still want to loose at least another 40lbs but I'm having trouble sticking to my diet. I'm working out, but only 2x a week now but I'm doing a lot of yard work too. There is literally nothing that I can't eat. I was really expecting a lot more from my surgery other than just volume control, I thought I wouldn't be hungry and that I wouldn't tolerate sweets. I'm not gaining a lot of weight maybe a couple of pounds, but then It comes off. But I haven't lost any more since October. It just seems that with as little as I'm eating, and a lot less than I used to, I don't understand why I'm not loosing some, even a pound a month would be something. It's been a long plateau! Any ideas??? HELP!!

    Has anyone ever...

Hi, The first few months are the hardest, but you will loose the most weight then too!! Stick to your diet, you are doing great! I'm 8 mo out and if we are out with the gang for pizza, I go, I eat a small salad first then the topping off a piece of pizza. Then I don't feel like I am missing out. You just have to plan ahead, so that you get the protein in that you need for the day. It's still hard, there are a lot of temptations out there and I wont' say that I have always been perfect, far from it. But after a miss you just have to get back on track. Fortunately what I have found with the sleeve is that even after a cruise vacation I only gained a couple of pounds and then was able to get them back off in a couple of weeks. Still have a lot to loose and not following my diet perfectly has slowed things down, but it's a new year and now I'm ready to get back!
  5. You look great! I bet you feel so much better too!

    It's Official!

Wow, that is terrific! That is a lot of weight in a short time. Wish I could loose like that.... sigh.. Great job! How many cal are you eating a day?
  7. Congrats on the weight loss, best problem to have! Better than ripping out too tight pants ha ha! Keep up the good work!
  8. Congratulations, glad to hear you are still loosing. I'm loosing the same way, about 1lb a week. I do log all my food on my I-phone app ("nutrition" if anyone wants a good app) and I'm eating close to 1000 cal a day (if I go much lower I'm very tired), I work out. Love the Zumba classes. If anyone has never tried those they are way fun. It's going to take a while to get all the weight off, but that's ok, I hope my skin will shrink more along with it. anyway, keep up the good work. gotta Love the sleeve!!

    Depressed! Gaining Weight!

I agree with thinoneday. I keep seeing postings where people are only eating 600 cal a day. That is not enough!! I am eating around a 1000 cal, 60+ gms of protein, try to keep my carbs and fat low, usually I am about 30% for protein, carbs and fat on the graph my app shows. I'm working out, I am 5'6"not small boned or anything. I feel good, sore from the exercise, but I feel good. If I drop down below say 800 cal I get really tired! Have to take naps! And I'm loosing wt. about 1lb a week. It's not terribly fast, I get stalls, then drop a few lbs. Was down 2 lbs yesterday after 2 weeks. It works!
  11. I've been like oregondiasy, seems I hit a stall every month for 2 weeks. I did the same thing when I would diet before, at least this time I'm not giving up. Can't get depressed and go pig out. ha ha, That's why I had this surgery. Anyway, it has been slow, but I am loosing wt every month. Started working out which help me loose the last 4 lbs, but now I've been the same wt for 2 weeks. I've got my husband dieting now too, so that helps. He can't understand how I could not be loosing more, but I tend to retain fluid.

    Depressed! Gaining Weight!

Seems like everyone hits a plateau after starting solids. Are you constipated? Could be why you are nauseated if you are. I got very constipated when I started solids, had to add some fiber in just to stay regular. I seem to hit one plateau every month for a week or two, seems I retain fluids and then don't show any loss for a while.
  13. Hi, my BMI was not as high either so my weight loss has been slower. I only had to do one week of liquids then mushies so I didn't loose as much right away. Had my surgery May 17. May I lost 20lbs (included pre-op diet); June 5 lbs, July 3 lbs; August 4 lbs; but only lost that after I started exercising. I probably eat more than some people, generally 900 - 1000 cal. But if I eat less I get really tired. I keep track now of everything I eat on my I phone app "nutrition" Great app, keeps track of water and exercise; it also lists calories, fat, sat fat, salt, carbs, fiber, and protein. I do make sure I get my 60 gms of protein in every day. But it has been slower that I thought it would be, but I feel so much better, and I think it is healthy to loose it slow. Every pound I loose I know will not be back. Good luck!

    65-70 lbs to lose

Hi, just wondering how everyone was doing? I finally have lost over 30lbs. I joined a gym and have been working out. It really kicked me off my plateau. Lost 4 more lbs in 2 weeks. Haven't lost any this week but I took some celebrex and I tend to retain a lot of water when I do. Just glad the scale is moving again. Finally lost all the weight I gained since I broke my leg 3 yrs ago. Still have about 40 - 60 lbs to loose. Hope to loose 6 more lbs by Oct 1. We'll see!! Wish me luck!

    Need advice

Very true. The fact is, we are the same people after surgery as we were before. Same issues, same wants and desires. We can't pig out like we once did. That in and of itself is a great blessing and if you did nothing else you would loose weight, but very slowly. This is a diet tool, we still have to diet. If I could diet successfully I would of not needed the surgery. Thing is, when I would hit these same stalls dieting before surgery, I would get discouraged and give up, go out and eat 1/2 a pizza. Now I can only eat the toppings off 1 or 2 slices. ha ha. Anyway, we still have to work at dieting or it will take forever. Exercising pushed me out of my slump, lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm 57, I have bad knees, ankle, shoulder, hips, and have found a way around it all. Just have to change things around, can't go for an hour on a treadmill. So I do a little bike, a little eliptical, a little treadmill, etc and get it in without causing to much stress to any one joint. I hope that getting the rest of the weight off will really help these weight bearing joints. Find something fun to do is the best thing, I really liked the dance classes, made me very sore for sure! ha ha I can't move like the instructor does, but I keep moving something! ha ha lol, what a riot!
  16. very true! Glad you will be ok, I'm sure just knowing everything is ok makes you feel better. Less stress and all. Things will be a lot better soon!

yea I did Zumba, what a riot. Very fun. I did a yoga class Sunday with swimming. today I did weight training and cycling. Been trying a little bit of everything. I think the Zumba and yoga were the best. Wore me out! ha ha. I switch my machines with cardio as for some reason my feet go numb, so I bike for 10-15 min, eliptical for 10-15 min, treadmill for 15-20 min, and sometimes swim for 20 min. When I do the treadmill I'm only at about a 3, then increase the elevation instead of speed as my knees are shot. I'm going about 4 times a week, would go more but I'm watching my grandson too so have to work around that. Of course he is getting to be a lot more work. He is starting to crawl now and weighs 23lbs, big boy!! I hadn't really worked out for 8 mo. I broke my ankle about 3 yr ago, gained 30lbs, so now I finally have that weight off. I had been trying for 3 years to loose it. Thing is I had just joined a different gym right before I broke my leg because I needed to loose weight. So I'm back where I started 3 years ago, only more pain. ha ha. But I feel that every pound I loose is not going to come back. It's great!!
  18. Walk walk walk, sip sip sip; that was my mantra. First week is the pits, but it gets better. I felt a whole lot better when the JP was pulled.

Hi, my sleeve date was 5/17 and I really hit a stall last month too, I finally joined a gym and started exercising, not just walking and the first week I lost 2 lbs, and 2 lbs the second week. It seems to really make a difference. I didn't want to, but it's very true what they say about exercising and dieting at the same time. Just have to do it. It works!!

    Breasts:

Insurance companies do not normally cover breast asymetry except for breast cancer corrections. They will cover breast reduction surgery if your breasts are causing back pain that has been refractory to non-surgical medical treatment. ie.. proper bras, analgesics, physical therapy, AND the amount of breast tissue to be removed would resolve the issue. It can be as much as 1000 gms per breast depending on your height and weight. Your issue will need medical review, your surgeon will have to send pictures and explain why it would be medically necessary and not cosmetic.
  21. Hi, I couldn't go to the meeting last night as we had to go visit my step son and his family. It had been awhile and was a very needed visit. Will try and make the September one. What happened?

I had been in a stall since mid July, so I finally joined a gym here in FlowerMound, and guess what, I worked out 3 days and lost a pound! So feel like I may be moving again in the weight loss. Stalls are hard, my husband feels like he has to micromanage every bite I put in my mouth. ughhh; Where do you live? Maybe we could work out together or something.

    Question on the unflavored proteins

I use the unflavored in coffee with a splenda packet (make sure it is below 130 degrees F or it will clump on you), It gives it a creamy flavor, but my absolute favorite is the vanilla unjury, I mix it in my coffee with one splenda packet and it tastes like a latte!!! very yummy! PS, love your new picture Tiffikins, can't seem to figure out how to add a photo. Tried but it doesn't post.

    1 Year Out Today!!!

What an inspiration, you have done wonderful!
  24. Yep he does a great job. I did well, loved the Baylor Plano facility. Everyone was so nice, his PA Brittnay Burns is very nice and easy to reach. You will deal with her most of the time after surgery. I don't know if he has more than one PA, I see Brittnay in Plano.
