Thank you Timeforchange...it hasn't been easy, but little by little...I wish you luck on your surgery. Keep me posted on your progress!!!! smooches!!!
  2. Hi MonSoleil...Congratulations on your banding...I started to walk slowly on my 4th day after surgery. I do the Mall Walking though... The tread mill was too intense for me and caused pain...I walked for maybe 20 minutes and was fried!! I went back everyday though and tried wlaking maybe 10 more minutes every day. Now I'm up to 5 miles a day. Now this is regular walking, nut power walking or anything like that. Somedays I go faster than others.. I did try to go back to my kick boxing but it's too early for me. I have come to realize though that the healing process is a very personal thing... Everyone heals very differently. My MD couldn't believe I was already walking that far...I hope this helps!

Ok..It's been a long time since I've "typed" here but I've got good reason...well, i don't know if I can say good...IT SUCKED!!!! Surgery went well, it was everything afterwards....The gas, the pain, the hunger, the emotional roller coaster, the questions, the answers, the faces, good compliments and the not so good compliments...You know, sometimes people can be so stupid!!! All I can say is God forgive them for they know not what they do or say!!! Anyway..I'm over it and on with the rest of my life!!! I'm very excited. I saw the nutritionist yesterday and she was very impressed with my progress and my energy level. I am back to walking between 3 to 5 miles a day and I love it. I find that my day is not complete with out my walk... My slow return to foods is going great!! SO FAR NOTHING MAKES ME SICK!!!!!! I've had chicken, steak, fish, and shrimp (all pureed)...YUM!!!! I had toast and a scrambbled egg today for the first time and no problems!!!!! I LOVE MY BAND and I have a name for her....Bandolera!!!!!!!! It fits her well. She is my new best friend and I'm so proud of her!!!! What else can I say? I was scared and even regretful the first few days, but today I can say I'm glad I did this!! I'm still a little emotional and I cry for anything, but I've always been a little sentimental... My emotions are getting better together with my incisions and my appetite!!! Thanks to everyone here at LBT for their support, kind words and good thoughts...You all are an inspiration to me!!! Keep up the AWESOME work as I will do my best to do mine!!! Love you guys!!!! SMOOCHES and hugs...Olga:kiss2:

HEllo! It's slowly getting better. My liquid intake is ok. I'm so sick of Protein Drinks..The only ones I tolerate are the Carnation Instant Breakfasts and Ensure high protein. That's IT!!!! Everything else makes me gag and I really don't need to throw up right now..SO, that's what I'm doing. I can't wait to eat something else besides broth and jello...The water and Crystal light I can handle...The discomfort around teh incisions isn't too bad...but teh gas is a whole DIFFERENT Story...WOW!!!! I spent 2 days in tears adn questioning my decision to do this... IT was soooooooo bad, but it's subsiding adn getting better...That's my only complaint so far... I'm walking again..Today I did 1.6 miles, It wore me out but the MD said that it was normal.. so little by little it's getting better...THANK GOD!!!! I've lost 7 LBS SINCE THE SURGERY!!!! A little scary but good. We'll see how it goes...I'm glad I have this site to come and talk and write and learn and maybe even teach my experiences....This too shall pass......smooches....:kiss2:

  22. Hello everyone! hope all is well...To all those who have been banded in the past few days..WELCOME TO THE CLUB!!! I hope your new journey is well under way and with no "Big" problems...For those of you who have kept us going thank you for the support, the well wishes and the understanding...As for my surgery experience....I was scheduled fro 2:30pm on the 26th, the MD was ahead of scheduled so they called me to come in at 12pm. They did my IV, gave a shot in my belly (blood thinner) and a cool patch behind my left ear for nausea (boy did that help!!!) Anesthesisa cam and talked to us, the doctor came and talk to us and marked my belly with his zorro pen..lol...and then the good stuff came...anesthesia came back, and shot me up with giggle juice...(I couldn' t stop laughing...) rolled me into the or...and 1 hour later I was in recovery...They fed me APPLE JUICE!!! Needless to say my MD was very upset!!!! and so wasn't my stomach...but, in the end, it was all ok.. Now I had to stay overnight because my oxygen level took it's time to come back up...but it was better that way.. I felt safer at the Hospital..just in case...I came home saturday at 10am..and that's when the gas hit!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!:faint: I have NEVER been in such pain..and i've had 2 c-sections!!!!!!!! HOLY SMOKES!!!! I was in tears for 3 days..no gas x helped, no petho position helped, no walking helped...NOTHING!!!!!! I'm into my 5th day and thank GOD I'ts MUCH BEtter....Still there...but much better!!! So, protein drinks make me nauseaus.....I drink Carnation instant Breakfast because it's the only thing that will stay down...and my broths, crystal light and water....but NO ATKINS or EAS drinks:eek: !!! YUCK!!!!!!!!! I will be able to eat yogurt and runny foods on saturday...I CAN"T WAIT!!! I haven't had any issues with my incisions..They are sore, but noting to talk about (as you can tell) my port is right above my belly button on the right side...So...It has not been easy...but it's getting better day by day. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers...Mines are with you all as well..:clap2: .Keep up the hard work because as we all know this is not as easy as people might think!! Love ya guys!!!!! God bless!!! ~:kiss2: ~Olga:)
