  1. I went out to dinner and "forgot" too. I started slurping though a straw, got a huge bubble in my stomach then tried to take a nexium for the gas and threw up into my hand while running to the ladies room...LOL you live and learn....:)

oh my! glad I am not the only one then. I have a birthday party to go to this weekend. I am very close to these people and I know during dinner I will forget. I will have to have my husband or daughter nudge me or kick me under the table if they see me over eating again, lol.

  2. It is so hard to change our minds about eating! I am 21 days post op as well and I still fight my mind about hunger. I have been working really hard to try and eat about every 2-3 hours a small Protein meal. I can't do the shakes, so I have to use real food for my Protein. I have had a few pains as well but usually because I ate something I shouldn't have eaten! I had a bit of a noodle from a lasagna Soup and I hurt for hours and throughout the night! however, it did go away and I am still here!

I go to a WLS support group in my area and there are people there who said they sell Grapefruit juice type of Protein drinks at Trader Joe's. I want to go look for some, I hate the shakes! Before surgery I loved chocolate, I was a addict when it came to chocolate. Now the smell of it makes me gag! I purchased a huge chocolate Protein powder jug. Now I can barely drink it!!!! Just letting you know, hopefully you have a Trader Joe's by you so you can try the drink.

  3. my doc said let them fall off on their own, the stitches desolve and the strip will fall off. I am 21days post op, and I had 2 (the bigger ones) still on, I pulled one of them in the shower, and I bled! I said damn, I will let the other one fall off by itself instead. I guess everyone is different?

  4. OMG!!!! I just post a new topic asking the same thing!!!!! I am 21days post op, this weekend I went to a party and had something I shouldn't have had (I tend to forget I was sleeved when I am talking and hanging out with people) I have had this pinchy feeling as well, I too am freaking because it's been 2days and I get that pinchy feeling every few hours!

I am glad to know if it's a leak then we would have a fever, I thought I ripped my incision and I am leaking, lol.

That is what I get for eating like a fatty, well it was just one bite of a tostada, the bite was like a mouse size bite. Please keep me posted, hopefully your pinch pain feeling goes away soon!!!

  5. Since Sunday morning I woke up with a pulsating pinch pain around my tummy sides area. Sometimes I feel it on my left back side. I am not sure if it's because maybe I slept wrong. I woke up on my side with top part of my body twisted (yes I am a crazy wild sleeper), or was it because I was at a birthday party on Saturday night and had a bite of a tostada? Not sure if it's stuck somewhere, or did I pinch a nerve in my sleep? Has anyone felt this before? The pains come and go every few hours.

  6. Nooo, I'm reminded EVERYDAY i've been sleeved. My restriction doesn't allow me too much. . but i sure do enjoy a sweet treat every now and then thats for sure!!! Your doing great! Keep up the great work!

that reminds me, lol. This weekend at my friend's bday party, her sister is a baker in a some fancy bakery and makes the bestestestest cakes. I knew I couldn't have cake, so I licked the ribbon the cake had as a decoration, lol My daughter looked at me so shocked and said mommy you are going to get sick. I said no, sleeved people don't dump and winked.. I am bad!

  7. I am 21days post op and can't even finish 1ounce of food! (unless it's just broth) I get full but not satisfied :( I hate that part, but 1 time I did continue to eat my chili and boy did it hurt! It was an hour of pain!! I ate 2oz of chili Beans. Never again. So now if I have to get up and leave my family alone at dinner, well then I get up and they understand.

  8. Hello Jasper Girl,, You are doing so well,, we were sleeved the same date. I haven't as much weight as i want yet. Your progress is phenomenial. Are you exercising? will you please give me a typical day of what you are eating?

    Thanks so Much

    Hi!!!

Happy same sleeve day to you! lol, I don't exercise, I plan to maybe in a week or so, just the treadmill for now. To answer your typical eating day.... sigh.. I can't eat much!! I will give you an example of what I ate today so far. I woke up and around 8am had 2 oz of double Protein shake, I was turbo full. For lunch, at 12pm I had 1/4 of a poached egg, I can't fit anything else :( around 1pm I had 6oz of Sobee 0Calorie fiji apple/pear Water thing. Right now I am mega stuffed, for dinner I will have maybe 2oz of chicken broth. When I do have pureed or mushie food, I get stuffed very easy, maybe even 2 small fork tip bites of food.

This weekend I went to my friend's birthday party, I was told to bring a dish (it was a surprise party so we all took something to make a buffet) I made a high Protein bean salad. So my hubby and I ate in the corner alone just so I won't have people asking me questions or making faces to see how little I can eat. My brother ended up joining us in the corner and he had a tostada.... well as we were eating, talking and laughing, I grabbed a piece of his tostada and ate it!!!!!! I don't know if that is why I have a deep pulsating pinch feeling since then. I hope it passes, I feel so stupid for doing that. I hope I didn't do damage. urgh! I need to not forget I was sleeved!

  9. Today I went over my mom's house and she had guest. The guest had her 2year old son and he gave me a piece of candy! I forgot about my sleeve surgery mushie food diet!!! 1/2 through my Laffy Taffy yummy strawberry chew candy I felt so full and uncomfortable, then I remembered... I was not suppose to eat that. Lucky for me being 16days post op, I am now use to eating little itty bitty bites, I ate that half of the candy in about 1/2 an hr mostly by letting it disolve in my mouth. I was so worried I would get sick, 2hrs later, here I am.. fine :)

have any of you forgotten as well?

  10. I am on mushie foods as well, I am16days post op, I can only eat 2-3 little fork fulls of food as well. Sometimes I just have broth with a noodle or something, lol. It goes down way better and I don't get that yucky feeling that is going to come back up your throat. My doc said that is the sign that you prob ate to fast or over ate.... 2-3 little fork full size? Can't wait to start eating normal, I worry myself that I am not getting enough... oh wait... I forgot to take my Flinestone Vitamins today!!! it's 10:18pm where I am... brb :) gotta eat Fred Flinestone!

  11. Sounds awesome to me! I may have to try it. I'm 4 weeks out and still on mushies for one more week! I'm also completely sick of all the same old stuff. Just tried the ricotta bake the other night, and that was a very nice change! Has anyone tried guacamole at this stage? or maybe I could just mash up an avocado or puree it with a little salt & pepper. I'm trying to be creative. I made chicken salad last night but I didn't care for it that much and it didn't really sit well either. the ground turkey mentioned above sounds really good too!

I just started on mushies and did the guacamole thing, it went down fine, I was only able to have like 2 tspsoonfuls with 1/2 a cracker. it was yummy :)

  12. hi,

Sorry to hear about your nausea, I was sleeved on 3/1 but didn't get that. I did do the spit thing, I was spitting every minute for the first week, I don't know why, I just needed to spit!!!! Then it stopped, all I did for the 1st week was broths and popsicles, I went through 3 boxes of popsicles the 1st week, but doctor said it's fine and that was prob helping me keep hydrated, I couldn't tolerate Water, it just caused me to gag. I use to drink alot of water before my surgery, now I can't

  13. Any chance of that time of the month...? just a thought.ohmy.gif

Anyway.. don't get discouraged. I had my surgery on Feb. 28 and I've only lost 6.5 lbs my first week and 3 lbs my 2nd week. I read of people "LIKE YOU" who lose 30 lbs and i'm like "what's wrong with me"

    Keep up the good work....

lol, I am one of those, I lost 20lbs in less than 2 weeks, I haven't lost anything in days.. I was so bummed and lost hope! Now I feel silly. thanx for the encouragement :)

  14. I had my surgery yesterday morning at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge by Dr. Drake Bellanger. When I came to, I had A LOT of pain in my left abdominal area. So much so that they had to get permission to give me something else for the pain. They fixed a hernia and the nurse said that this probably contributed to the excess pain. My blood pressure spiked in recovery but finally calmed down.

Anyway, I was able to get right on ice chips and broth which was really nice and I tolerated it very well. I have been very fortunate that I only had very slight nausea right after getting to my room but no vomitting!! Yay!!

The night was basically uneventful except needing help to get the stupid IV to the bathroom!! And, I was released this afternoon. The pain meds have helped my pain on the left.

So, I have quesitons about gas and "hunger" pains. Does the gas go away??? I've been belching all day with some...ummm...tooting. I definitely feel very gassy in my belly which is more annoying than anything. And, I almost feel hungry. Not super hungry....kind of gnawing hunger. Is this normal? Is this the gas?

And, I started on the Protein bullets as prescribed by the nutrionist and HATE THEM! I can tolerate them by mixing them in with my Water. I can take a sip at least every 10 to 15 minutes. So, is this okay to meet both my Water and Protein requirements??

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Hi, the gas ugly feeling stayed with me for about a week! The worst gas pain days were the 3rd day for some reason, I had to call my doctor and he told me to try prune juice. don't do it without your doctor's permission, everyone is different. It did help alot!!! The day after wasn't as gassy painful. Those hunger pains... i get them, but I don't think they are really hunger pains, supposedly we have the hunger hormone taken out. Maybe it's gas or acid reflux? oh and with time you will be able to meet your water and protein, it took me a week and a half. Sounds like you are doing good :)

  15. today is day 7 from beeing sleeved by dr kim things are improving every day biggest notice is less gas, ive started eating alittle Soup cant believe how full iget quickly and my stomach lets me know. feeling good though, the smells from good found does make me fell like i want to eat some, but i just fight it it passes my energy is about 70% i say im back to work.

glad your gas is less, that was the most painful thing I endured.. dumb gas! It went away in the first week. I had my surgery 2wks ago and still could only eat soup, with a little bit of mushy foods. I get stuffed if I just eat the mushy alone in 1 bite, and when I say bite, I mean smaller than your pinky finger nail. It's not much, so I just make sure I keep doing my Protein shakes. Hopefully by next week I can eat a little more.
