  1. I just joined a different kind of gym...not with the typical machines (I have some of those at home). This is a pilates, kick boxing and zumba studio! I was banded on February 22, 2011. I have lost 90 pounds so far with about 40 to go!!! I just started working out about 2 months ago and I feel fantastic...almost like a new person!!! I only wish I wouldn't have let my old size prevent me from joining earlier. This studio is a bit more money but I get small classes and can go to as many classes as I want...I am now addicted spending most of my free time there!!! Bestnof luck to you....getting the lap band has changed my life forever!!!
  2. Way to go and what a great idea to break down the losses!!!
  3. Thx for all of the suggestions! I really love that I can come to banded living and get some much needed info... I am trying hard to believe/understand the not eating enough calories issue...what happens when you get more fills and you can't eat as much? Do you eat smaller portions more often to get the calories in? Also thx for the comments about water I am def not drinking enough of that and will try harder to do that! Another thing is that the deli meat/cheese comment is so true about the sodium I have been so focused on other things I didn't think about that...I just want to tell all that commented that I am going to follow all of your suggestions and really appreciate the positive comments. Not sure what I would do without the "banded family"!
  4. Hey everyone!! I was banded on Feb 22 and am feeling great and was loosing... I know everyone hits a plateau but I don't know what to do and would love some suggestions. I keep a food journal and stick to low carb eating...I have a protein shake for brkfst every day and for lunch I will have 2oz of deli turkey and 1/2 ounce of cheese. Then for dinner I have 2 to 3 ounces of grilled chicken and some type of veggie. The only snack I have is 1/2 cup of fat free sugar free pudding. I walk on my treadmill 3 to 4 times per week and am pretty active at work. I also keep busy with 3 kids under 10. I am totally committed to doing this and have the willpower to be strong. I have only had 1 fill so I feel like I don't have much restriction but have no prob eating the small portions. I have not "cheated" since my surgery and have no desire to do so but the 45 lbs I have lost since Feb 4 have stalled...please send any suggestions!!! I also realize that is a lot of weight in such a short period of time but I would be ok with 2 lbs. A week I just feel stuck now...thx!
  5. I was just going through all of those emotions especially the eating like crazy for the 2 months before my surgery...I had to start my 2 week pre op diet 2 days after I returned from vacation so let's Just say I ate and drank everything in Jamaica! However I feel like once I started that 2 week pre op something changed and I was ready for my "new" lifestyle! I also still feel like why can't I do this without something plastic inside of me...I had success in the past lost 60 lbs on WW but I just was never satisfied...I already feel "fuller" and I haven't had a fill yet!!! This is the best decision I have ever made to be a healthier me...not sure about the pregnancy part I already have 3 kids so I am set there! I am 35 years old and started at 263 lbs...in the weeks since I started I have lost 35 lbs! Also I was in pain for about 4 days and then sore for the next few days and I also have no pain tolerance...all worth it! Good luck to you!!!
  6. Hi I am 35 years old and I was banded about 6 weeks ago and have lost 35 lbs!!! I have been very strict about my eating since being banded and I feel just using total self control right now to keep my food intake to a minimum. I have my first fill on April 4 and am very excited and a little nervous. I love being able to come to banded living it has been the biggest help in so many ways! Looking forward to lots of success and new friends! I have gone from 263lbs to 228lbs and feel like my goal is finally going to be something that can happen!
