  1. You are so inspiring and gives us hope for those of us who are seeking out this journey. It so good to hear of great success. CONGRATS! CONGRATS! CONGRATS! On another note try to be understanding with your mom. My sister had lapband and lost tons of weight it was so hard to see especially when I tried so hard to make it a reality in my own life. I wasnt heavy enough to have the option of surgery. I was stuck in that size 14-16(its big for me) no matter how much i tried. I really was/am happy for my sister she really needed the weight loss because she is a single mom raising 2 boys. Nonetheless the jealous monster was there. I wasn't proud of it. Just my story. BUT I am so happy for you.
  2. Wow! What a miracle for you.
  3. Thank you Sleeve 4 Me you made my heart smile.
  4. Hey there, I started looking in October 2010 at the sleeve surgery and what I notice is you come cross many emotions and issues along the way to deciding. You need to just be patient with yourself and let yourself process each new thought or feeling. Once you hurdle each new thing you become more assured with your decision. I was not going to tell anybody about my surgery but now i see there are people that are close in my life that need to know. Mind you my list is short but i slowly came around to accept this. Pondering and praying does wonders.. Enjoy your Jouney.
  5. This thought has been in my mind this past week. Feeling Guilty for having surgery and/or taking my healing out of God's hand by having WLS. Because Im so sick of being overweight maybe Im not able to see clearly and choosing the way of the world. I have prayed to God that if this is not how he wants me loose weight( i know its a tool)then I would abandon this process. I feel good that this surgery is right for me. I feel peace. I Never noticed this thread then i happen to see it. This topic was here things that i was feeling too. All the post even though they are old still spoke to me. God is with me and answering my prayers. I am so grateful my body even though I ve struggle with my weight. It has provided me well and I have hope by having surgery I can relieve it from strain it bears for me. Thank you body you have served me well. Thank you God for loving me and being patience with me.

I was a Curves member a few years back when i was pregnant with my 6th(last one) child. I liked Curves its simple can be great for beginnners and can be okay for those who are getting back into exercising. It's good for toning dont think as good for cardio unless you are focus on it. I mentioned its simple so it easy to just go through the motions and gab a little too much. Thats just what i noticed when I was working out. Its nice not having to adjust weights. You just jump on the next machine and go. It great place to meet new people and old ones too. Work hard and enjoy.
  14. Looking very athletic. Impressive!
  15. Hi Dan, I am on the journey VSG. I have a sugery date on Jan 29th with Dr. Aceves. I dont have a lot experience to tell you but i can tell you if you been browsing around a bit you probably notice everyone is very happy with their sleeve and if you looked in the surgeon forum you might have notice Dr. Aceves name come up a ton. He gets great reviews along with the staff and the care you recieve. He is in Mexicali. IF you google his name you will get his website. There is # and email to get things going. Very simple. That just my 2 cents worth. Happy studying pondering and deciding. May happy days follow.
  16. Hi everyone, I am penciled in for Jan 29th but I'm currently trying to hurdle the money issue. Is this i worth the money and putting my family without any safety net and some debt. I got through the other emotions now i just have to come to terms with this. Any encouraging word or words of wisdom would be helpful.
  17. I have the same thoughts as you are having too and more. I have a surgery date on Jan 29th. I havent made plane arrangements yet cuz that would defintely make it a reality. I really want to do this but is this thing the next big thing to do for loosing weight. Will i really become a healthy eater. I worked on being a healthy eater for 20 years it was a daily struggle. It takes alot of focus which when you have a family of 8 it is just not possible all the time. I dont want to always think about food what to eat or not to eat. I just want to eat healthy amount whether it be a cookie or broccoli. I so want this to be the tool to help me be successful. I think if i wasnt a self payer and insurance was picking up the bill I would so jump in head first. Hopefully things will become clearer as we ponder what best for each of us. Good luck.
  18. Wow you look great!!! Love the one where your hair was down. Great pic.
  19. Hi Lucill35, I 'm actually penciled in for Jan 29th 2011 with Dr. Aceves. I am scared to make it a reality. This is the first time i have said anything. I have a family of 8 and using all that money on just me just doesnt sound logical or sensible. What if I fail. Which i know alot about. Losing weight has been my nemisis for a long time! The last 3 years it has beaten me down to no return. My sister had the lap band surgery with great sucess so i start looking around and here i am. The money thing is giving me anxiety; I think just do it on you own and save for a rainy day. But i havent cancelled yet so if i get things secured I will pm you so we can look out for each other when we arrive in Mexico. It will be nice to have friend during this journey. Sound good?
  20. Now you know he thinking like a teenage boy again. Have fun in the bedroom or where ever. Yeah for you!!
  21. Lookin good !!! Doesn't it feel good to be stylish and up to date. Glad to hear you have a doctor who cares. Yeah for you.
  22. Patient is probably not our strong suit. I know when i decide to something i want to go 0 to 60, NOW! I do hope you find some joy during this time you are stalled. Good luck it will come look at all this support that tells you it will.
  23. Hey 40 something sistas, I have just decided to be sleeved so I trying to get things started. I turned 40 this year. I have been battling my weight for almost 20 years. I feel like Ive been stuck and I want to be free. I feel the sleeve will help me live again. I have 6 beautiful children. 3 boys 19, 16,14 then 3 girls 9,8,6. I ve been married for 20 years to a wonderful, hard working man. I have been very blessed in my life but has been overshadowed at times because of my weight. No more, Im ready to bask in the sun and blessings the Lord has given me.
  24. Ive decided to get the sleeve so getting the ducks in the row still. Don't have time right now to write a big list but here are few things ill enjoy. -my thighs/butt wont be wider than the toilet -not having my legs rub together and hearing that swishing noise -dont have to wear a girdle to make the dress look better. Like it really helps -Not being fat girl humping on a skinny dude(dh) - Having thighs that are not bigger than somebodies waist. -finding my athletic side again, miss her -having hope back knowing what i do will make a difference - trying again
  25. I truly feel sorry for the obstacles you are facing. This is kinda hard but try to find away of feeling like a victim or this surgery will be for not. You need to take your power back and then own it. Here are my suggestions on some of the obstacles is there any way to set up a car pool for your husband? Could you take/pick him to work a few days of the week or month. I had little ones like you and i set up an hour of exercising for me. During that time the kids need to entertain themselves (put on there fav movie) could not interupt me. I made sure every need was taken care of. feeding, drinks, potty time, diapers. if they cried i just let them after awhile of doing this it became eaiser for them and it became routine. some days it didnt work but majority time it did. For eating you must plan for month of groceries if not more. Amazon has some groceries. Do you have church or some kind of group who could help you with rides or with baby sitting. Be resourceful. Let your husband be. Become what you want to be. Pray God will help you see a way. God Bless.
