  1. Well things are really starting to "move" around this morning. sleep last night was kinda broken but I feel rested and refreshed. Had some decent heartburn last night so I slept in the recliner sighting up slightly and that helped a lot. Woke up at about 5am feeling good. Sipped some Water and took a little nap til 730.

I took a shot of my liquid vicodin and the acid came back almost immediately. I will be using that as little as possible now that I know it's one of the culprits. But like I said, things are moving today - my abdomen is rumbling and growling like crazy. Gas is finally starting to pass and I'm sitting here sipping a Decaf coffee.

Weighed in this morning and I was down 4.5lbs since the day before surgery. Hope everyone is doing well - good luck to all those that are going on Monday, I'm sure this will be a long, exciting and anxious weekend for you all!!!!

  2. Well 2 1/2 weeks, and I join the losers bench! Hard to believe it is that

soon. I am excited and ready to get the show on the road!

    Hey Sheila,

You're kicking some serious butt on the preop weight loss!!! Nicely done! I had no preop diet so I went on a self impossed one of my own and struggled to lose 10 pounds! With the success you've already had, you'll be a guaranteed sleeve success story! keep up the good work.

The 27th will be here before you know it! Hang in there.

    Mike

  3. go to tickerfactory.com or lilyslim.com and make a ticker

When you are done it will give you a code...make sure it is HTML format

Right click and cut the whole code

    Go to My settings

    Profile

    change signature

Place cursor where you want your ticker to go in your signature page.

Under other styles choose HTML and a box will pop up and right click and insert/paste whole code into little box.

here is the tutorial link in case my directions are not clear enough:

I hope that makes sense :)

Makes perfect sense! Thank you very much!!!

  4. Thinking of everyone who has been ahead of me and going in behind me today. Tomorrow is my surgery and today has been Clear liquids ans Dulcalax. Hummm, so much fun! It really is not bad but the "head hunger" is getting to me. Not to mention having half of the family here for me and watching them eat fried chicken and some awfully darn good looking biscuits, LOL. I will be under at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Please send out a prayer or two if you are able.

    Hugs to ALL,

    Hansi

    Hey Hansi,

Don't worry about the head hunger too much. After your surgery today you won't want a bite of anything. I'm struggling to sip on Water, garorade and tried to have some broth. You won't want to eat anyting for a while! Someone could walk in here and hand me a double bacon cheesburger and I wouldn't touch it. Once you feel nausea after the surgery you won't ever want that to come back.

  5. Hey Wendy

Glad to hear you're at home!!!! I can relate to the nausea afterwards - wow that sucked so bad. Today was much easier and the pain and nausea still come and go but are smaller and easier to fight through. It's really nice to be home and to be on the "other side" as so many of you have said.

I've often wondered what this day would feel like and now I can tell you it's very exciting. Hang in their Wendy, time marches on and you'll be a week out before you know it. That's what I keep telling mysef.

  6. Hello everyone!

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Everything

Worked out ok today for surgery. The day started out a 5:30, got to the hospital at 6. Surgery was right at 8 and I was out like a light. Next thing I knew I was in recovery.

The next hour was ruff. I was so uncomfortable and nauseous that I couldn't take it. Once the anti nausea drugs and pain killers kicked in I was surviving but miserable. Longest hour of my life it seemed like.

Another hour and more pain and I was heading for the room. The rest of the afternoon and evening have been spent sleeping and resting. I've had spurts were I gelt like a million bucks and othe times I thought I was going to puke.

It's kinda neat laying here in bed know that this long hard journey is almost complete. No to

Move on to the rest of my life. Without the weight.

  7. Prayers and well wishes going out to todays Sleevers!!!

I'm heading in for a preop appiontment in a few hours. I woke up this morning and it hit me like a ton of bricks! So nervous and so excited that I can hardly take it.

Can't wait for tomorrow to get here. My surgery isn't til noon so I'll have plenty of time to freak out in the morning! :D :D :D

  8. I've got to be completely honest with you and say - Good for YOU!!! If you went on vacation and only gained 2lbs and ate everything you wanted than in my opinion the Sleeve has proven it's benefit to you. I can't tell you how many vacations I've been on and routinely gain 10-15lbs in a week. You went all out - enjoyed yourself and picked up 2 pounds. No biggie.

Live your life knowing that a few times a year you can go all out on a vacation and enjoy yourself - come home and get back on the horse and get on with your life. I would look at it as a blessing.

  9. Hey fellow firecrackers! I'm soooo excited for tomorrow! I have to be at the hossy at 5am, but I'll be the first of the day so hopefully I'll be out and in recovery before some of you get outta bed! :D I can't wait to get the actual surgery part of this journey over with so I can be a big ol' LOSER!! (how many times in our lives will we say such a thing!?!)

So glad to hear that Kathaleena had a great experience and I'm praying my surgery goes as well! I'll be praying for all of us....

    Firecrackers ROCK! B)

Hey Wendy - Can't wait to hear all about it!!! Hope you're feeling good!

  10. Sounds like great news all the way around!!! I hope my experience is similiar to yours B)

Keep bringing us the updates, we all need to read them for constant reassurance that we are doing the right thing and it's going to be ok!!!:(

  11. Hello to all my July Sleeve Buddies out there!!!!

I just found this section of the forum! I have spent the majority of my time on the main pages researching and learning everything I can. I'm so excited to find this section though, feels like I have instant friends that understand what I'm going through right at this moment!

Getting sleeved on the 7th, nervous, excited and anxious all at the same time. Praying for all of you - please pray for me

Best wishes to all the July Firecrackers out there!

I am sending prayers and well wishes to everyone having surgery this week. I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. I know that I am so scared about mine on Friday but so thankful to be starting a new life. This has been in the making for me for over a year. I have tried to wait patiently and so thankful the day is finally approaching.

    Hugs,

    Hansi

    Hansi,

Asking to be added to your prayer list! I definately need it!

  13. Hi, My surgery was on Monday, June 27. I know everyone is different and I didn't know what to expect but really, I think I could go back to work on Tuesday. Each day it seemed like I was 100% better than the day before. The only thing that bothered me was the gas and it has finally subsided. The first day it was hard to get in and out of the bed and the chair, but the second, no problem. I would just play it by ear. If you're ok, go back the first week, otherwise don't. I took 3 weeks off but I think I'll go back that third week. Take care all! This is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I haven't had any "buyers remorse" that I've read about on here either. Just good stuff. Its ALL GOOD!

Your experience is exactly what I'm pulling for. Glad to hear it went so well for you!

  14. I am 5 days post op and I have to say I feel a little better , but certainly not great. But I definetly think you need more then a week for the simple reason that I still have a drain in till Wed. That means im wearing this for longer then a week. And maybe your different but even if I just had a desk job I cant even wear more then sweats and a loose top because there is a drain hanging out of my stomache. Sorry to be so blunt I just feel like if you rush your recovery it may take longer , But if you have any other questions just ask, GoooD Luck on your journey!!!

Didn't think about a drain tube!!! I guess that would limit my ability to go back to work.
