  3. How goes the mushies?

  4. It was yogurt. I did Dannon lite and fit, key lime pie. I could only eat about half of the 6 oz container. I was stuffed!!!

  5. I cheated and started mushies early. Yogurt never tasted so good!!!! I got on the scale Monday morning and had to step off to make sure it was right. I lost 5 lbs between my appt and Monday morning... I was really surprised!!!

  6. I still have bouts of being tired. I noticed a difference when I started mushies.... I was getting more calories and felt better. I get tired in the late afternoons and on the weekends when I try to nap I can't. I was out of town for the meeting. Did you make it?

  7. I talked to Dr. T about blood work and he says they check it at 6 mos, if there were no problems with your pre op blood work.

  8. Everything went well.... I am down 40 lbs since my liquid diet. Dr. Thompson leads the meeting and goes over vitamins, calcium, and protein. There were about 13 of us in there. I also was ok'd to eat anything in my capability and to chew!!! Glad you are feeling better!!!! The head hunger is better for me, as well, since I can eat real food!!!! YEA!!!

  9. Wanted to see how you were doing.... I have my one month post op tomorrow. I can't believe it has already been a month...

  10. In those first couple of weeks, I did chewable vitamins. As soon as I started mushies, I started breaking the prenate in half to take it because I could not do chewables anymore. They were gross. Dr. Thompson suggested the prenates.

  11. I am taking an otc prenatal vitamin, B12, and calcium citrate...

  12. I thought the pain ball was going to be bad too... It was a breeze. The meeting starts at 10:30am. It is in the west tower. There is also a water aerobics class before the meeting when you are able to get in the water.

  13. That's why I love this site. Also, try to get to a support group. Doctors hospital has one the last Saturday of the month. Several of Dr. Barker's patients are there. I really liked the one I went to. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I can tell you what I have experienced. Oh yeah, have you taken your pain ball out yet?

  14. I hate protein too. I would eat sugar free popsicles when I would have cravings. They were a life saver. Find something you like and focus on that. It DOES get better. It feels especially better when the scale moves. I have lost 39 lbs in 5 weeks. It is worth it!!! I will def send prayers your way!!!!

  15. Glad you made it through. The second day was the roughest for me. It only got better from there. It took me sometime to get liquids in. At the post op, I weighed in and they took out the staples and put on steri strips. Be prepared, you can't shower for 24 hours. Dr. Thompson saw me and asked how I was doing and if I had any questions. They scheduled my 1 month and that was it. I have my 1 month on the 22nd. It is in a group setting. When did you get to go home?

  16. I was first too!!! I got to go home the next day. So if you are doing well he may release you Saturday night. I will be thinking about you!!!!

  18. We are neighbors!!! Good luck with the surgery. It has been the best thing for me. I will be 3 weeks post op on Monday and have lost 33 lbs since my pre op diet. I will weigh Monday and see how much more I have lost.

  19. I had strained cream soups (campbell's healthy request). It takes forever to strain them. (mushroom, chicken, and celery). I had broth, sugar free popsicles, and lots of water and tea. It was hard but I kept telling myself Dr. Barker will know and my surgery will take longer. Hang in there!!!!!

     

    I feel great. I started soft foods this week. So excited for that!!!

  20. I am feeling good. This week has been rough with being tired. I have been going non stop since I feel so well... I am resting up this weekend and doing nothing. Good Luck tomorrow...
