    Fried Foods

i never was a fried food kinda person. i always baked or grilled my food. i did eat french fries and potato chips tho. i have since surgery had chicken strips that were fried, a few french fries here and there and potato chips. no real issues, but then again, i am one of the ones that do not have issues with sugar either. some get really sick from high does of sugar and i have not had that problem. kinda wish it did, so i wouldn't want to eat chocolate!! 1yr Today I Change Me!!!

You look awesome!! Good job! Kelly :Banane57:
  3. i too am just over 6 months out and am so close to goal i can taste it. in the past month to month and half, i have not lost much either. i don't know if it is because i am so close or what. it is frustrating, but keep up the good fight. it has to get to moviing. we can not stay the same eating so little. i rarely eat over 1,000 calories a day and i exercise 5 days a week for at least 45 minutes of high intensity. something is a miss to not lose!!! i know i didn't lose this week because of tom, but last week is a mystery! it is weird, frustrating and just aggravating, but keep up the good work. It will pay off!! Kelly :biggrin5:

    Hundredth Pound GONE!

You look awesome!! Good for you! Kelly
  5. I had my surgery May 9th of this year. Like the other's I researched and had lots of planning, classes and testing done (I am a Kaiser patient). Anyway I NEVER had once ounce of regret EVER!!!!!!!! AND being 6 months out now and being so close to my goal weight is something that I could have never done on my own! I also know that I will never be 280lbs EVER AGAIN! No way do I ever have once ounce of buyer's remorse. I would do it agian tomorrow if I needed to. I love my sleeve!!!! Kelly
  6. I started taking my multi-vitamin about a month before surgery and was fine, after surgery, they made me soooo nauseated. Never threw up, but felt bad for about an hour after taking it. At 4 weeks out, I was able to take pills bigger than an m&m and I switched to centrum. Those don't make me sick at all. Kelly

    strange cravings

i rarely get cravings except for tom and always have been that way and there had better be some chocolate in the house!!! except post-op i was soooo afraid to eat it. i was so scared and still am of milk chocolate. hated dark pre-op and now i love it. haven't tried to eat milk chocolate for fear of getting sick because i heard horror stories about people getting sick on sweet stuff, so i stayed away from it for almost 6 months. but i love love love some dove dark moments!! those things are heaven! and just to think i use to buy the big bags of moments at costco and throw out the dark ones. LOL Kelly

  12. So, I have placed an ad on EBAY for a HUGE lot of BA, Unjury, Chike, and GNC protein powders and protein for water. There are also a few protein bullets in the lot. I bought these pre and post op and HATED most of them and would like to get rid of them for a fair price. If you are local and win, I will not charge you shipping and you can come and pick them up. I am in Sacramento area. Check out ad on EBAY my screen name is 2005kellytim. Kelly

    Deli Meat

Oh yes, you will feel restriction. I am 6 months out and still can only eat like 2 slices of deli meat with a piece of cheese. The only difference between deli and regular meat is that the deli meat is not as dense, therefore it doesn't stay with you as long as say tuna, beef or chicken would. Kelly
  14. I have only told ONE person and that is my husband! I probably will tell my mom when I see her next month (haven't seen her in 3 years). I think people are very narrow minded and very ignorant about WLS, therefore, I didn't want to hear negative comments about what I was doing. That is why I chose not to tell. Now that I am 2lbs from goal and healthier than I have ever been in my entire life, I really don't see how they can shoot me down! LOL Kelly

    Confession Time

That is why they are called slider foods. They go down easily and don't have any nutritional value, therefore you don't feel much if any restriction form them. That is why they should be avoided because they are empty calories and you can eat a lot of them!! Kelly

    Confession Time

I will be 6 months out in just a couple of days. WOOP WOOP!! Almost at goal too! I honestly can say that I didn't eat ANYTHING I was not supposed to until about a few weeks ago. I now have an occasional sugar free dark chocolate a time or two a week or a few goldfish crackers, but other than than, I stick to my Protein first and then a bite or two of veggies and some fruit. We are not perfect and I say if you want something, have it. You can in no way eat like you did before, so don't deprive yourself.!! Hugs, Kelly
  17. 2lbs from goal! i am super excited!!!

  18. You really should be a poster child for sleeve surgery!! CONGRATS TO YOU!! Kelly
  19. I agree with you Irene!! TOTALLY!! If I want something, I have it now that I am 6 months out. I had some dark chocolate last night and it was WONDERFUL!! Pre-sleeve, I would have eaten the whole bag, but now i have a couple pieces and I am good. The sleeve is a great tool! Kelly

Yayy Me! Im a normal weight

    you look AWESOME!! congrats. Kelly
  21. My hair loss has been very minimal. I think it is because I have lost my weight very gradually tho and not really fast. I think the ones that lose 5-10lbs a week lose the most hair. I have lost like 1-3lbs on average every week and I lose like 8 hairs a day. Not a big deal. You can not tell that I lose any. I am very fortunate! Kelly

    Movement anyone???

I didn't have one for about 4 days, but I had HORRIBLE post-op gas from them swelling my stomach up. It was so bad, that I could not take a deep breath or sit up straight for 2 days. About day 3 that gas started breaking loose and I started tootin (TMI sorry) and I started feeling better, but on day 4, I got HORRIBLE diahrreha and had it for a week. I still get it about a couple time a month, had it today as a matter of fact, and like the above poster stated, it is green when it happens!! I only have a BM now about 5-6 times a month anymore, which was really hard for me to accept in the beginning, but now at 6 months out, I am cool with it. Kelly
  23. Weighed this a.m. and I am 3lbs from goal! In less than 6 months, how unbelievable! I love my sleeve!!!!

  24. Oh Raine!! You can do it. Smoking is definatley a mind over matter thing. I know because I kicked that nasty habit April of last year!! YAY I started when I was 12, yes, 12. I was 36 when I quit and soooo glad I did. All it took was will power and a box of Nicoderm CQ patches and I was good. Get you some of those, they REALLY help! A year and one month to the day of quitting, I had VSG surgery. Two of the best things I have EVER done for myself. You will feel so much better when smoking doesn't control you anymore!! You CAN quit if you really want to. I have faith in you. Hugs! Kelly
