  1. It is totally fine! I too could drink and drink after surgery and can now at 4 months out. I have never had an issue. Liquids just run through and will give us NO restriction what so ever if they are just water like. Be glad that you can drink more. You will not get dehydrated! Kelly

    GGGOOOOAAAALLLLLLL!

WOW!! You look amazing! Good for you. Kelly
  5. I am with Foxbins on this one! My plan tells me to measure my food and I do. I eat 1/2 c of dense Protein, which is about 2-2.5 oz three times a day. I usually can finish it, but it depends on what it is. I try to eat a bite or two of veggies at dinner and a bite or two of fruit with Breakfast and lunch. Sometimes I can't, but I try. I always eat my protein first and if I have room, I do. Most of the time, I don't have room for anymore. If I ate sliders or didn't eat my protein first, I am sure I could eat ALOT more, but I follow the rules and therefore, I can't! I sometimes have a couple Snacks during the day to bring my calories up. Kelly

    sundae???

Breyers makes Carb Smart Vanilla ice cream and it is really good. It only has 4g net carbs and 90 calories in 1/2 c. I have had it a couple times when I was needing it in the past few weeks. I did not eat it until about 4 months out tho. I am afraid of eating sugary things for fear of getting sick, but my husband found this and I thought I would try it. It really tastes good for it being so healthy! Kelly

    Medications

There are NOT any meds that we can not take with the sleeve. That is what makes it such a great choice for most people that take medications. Also, my PPI is time released. Kelly

    Is this normal?

I don't know what plan your dr. has you on for your food stages, but you really should follow them. They give them to us for a reason and eating things we shouldn't too early CAN cause damage. Be careful!! Kelly
  9. with the sleeve, NO medication is off limits. You CAN take anyting. It is the bypass that you are not allowed to take things. Kelly
  10. welp, another week of doing everything right and losing nothing! UGGH.

    5th time a charm?

Yes, Kaiser does pay for WLS. However, you would have to look at YOUR plan and see if it is written that YOUR plan pays. Each Kaiser plan is different. If you don't know or aren't sure, call member services, they can help you! Kelly

    Insurance - denied...

Wow! I am so sorry. Does your plan say that they do not pay for the sleeve? It would seem that you should have been informed of that in the first place! WOW! Kelly
  13. So awesome Raine!! Good for you!! Kelly

    Squash Casserole

I like to take squash and cube it. Then drizzle olive oil over it and put fresh garlic on it. If you don't have garlic, you can use powder or the freeze dried kind or the kind out of the jar, salt and pepper real good. Bake in the oven on 400 degrees for about 25-35 minutes or just till fork tender. It is soooo delish! Kelly
  15. Oh coops! I am so happy for you!! You look great in your profile pic and really small!! You will get there, we all will! Hugs to you. Keep on keepin on girl!! Kelly

    Doctors PISS ME OFF!

There are so many people that have such opinions about WLS and it really pisses me off too! Dr. or not!!! I remember when I first set out to have the surgery. I had asked my pcp and he was all for it. I was having some female issues and went to my obgyn and he wanted to do a test on me, but I weighed 280lbs. He told me to lose 40lb and that when i got there to call him. I told him that I was going to have WLS and he asked me if I was suicidal???????? Seriously, what?????? He said that I would die if I had that done and I was too young to die!! LOL are you kidding me?!?!??! People are so friggen ignorant! I knew at that point, I would not tell a sole about my surgery, but my husband and I haven't! Some people! UGGGH!! I am glad that I had a dr. that didn't give me greif about the surgery, but if he would have, I would have just found a dr that would have let me do it. there are lots of dr.'s out there that don't believe in it, but there are lots that do. Tell your friend to find another dr.! Kelly

    iron causing pain?

I take 325mg of ferrous gluconate twice a day and 2 iron chews from bariatric advantage and i don't have any issues. I have heard that they can cause stomach issues in some tho. my dr. said to eat with them if they bother me. so try to eat something with them. Kelly

    Confusing post op info!!

You have to do what your dr. says about your eating to make sure you don't hurt yourself in the begining. My plan says 3 meals a day and no snacking. I have to snack because I can not eat enough at one time to get enough calories in a day. I only get 3-400 calories a day if I don't snack, then I won't lose weight. WEIRD! So, I go against my dr.'s orders and I snack. LOL Not, on bad stuff, just more protein and veggies to bring the count up and compensate for my exercise and stuff. It works for me! Do what works for you! Kelly
  20. So, do any of you find that you have lots of gas since being sleeved. I am not talking about burping...LOL. Man, I constantly have gas and it is gross. I seriously pass gass, I know, probably 45 times a day. It is annoying! Is it because our bellys are so small or what? Kelly
  21. BAHAAAHAHAHAHAH!!! I love that banana with boobies!! Too cute Kelly

    Well... here we go!!

I was so worried about mine too! I have Kaiser and I read and re-read their requirements I know, 500 times. I met them and knew I was fine, but I was so sure I wasn't going to get to have my surgery. LOL I am sure you will be fine. Our minds like to talk us out of things. You will be sleeved before you know it. Hugs, Kelly
  23. You may need to eat something more than applesauce with those pills. They are pretty strong and maybe your stomach is upset about it. Kelly
  24. Can't say that I would have. I have the best team of dr., nut and case mgr. They really prepared me for what was going to happen and gave me all of the tools and information for success 6 months in advance. I started day after my orientation with most of my new habits. That is what blows my mind on this site, people are saying that they don't know what to eat and how much to eat. WHO IS THEIR DR.???? It is crazy to me to think that they would not be educated on how to eat after such a MAJOR surgery! kelly

How bad is the hair loss??

I think it depends on the weight loss. If you are loosing large amonts of weight then it will be more extreme than if you are loosing steadily. I am losing steadily and not really super fast, so mine is coming out, but only like 15-20 hairs a day. I only notice it when I brush in the morning after washing my hair. It is gross, but not as extreme as I thought it would be. I know that it will stop when my weight loss stops and I am fine with it. I do not have patches of lost hair or anything. Nobody will notice that your hair is gone!! Only you will know! Kelly
