    Sleeve and Bipolar Meds

That is a very good question Bryn! I had a friend with bipolar disorder that had a RNY three months ago. He lost around 70 pounds. I do not know what medications he was on or the dosages, but I am very sad to report that he committed suicide three weeks ago. I am not trying to scare any one just send a message to keep your meds in check and regulated with your changing body. Hugs

Some advice from a new sleever

It is called an On Q ball. I had one but I must be an active sleeper, because I pulled out the tubes and the medicine leaked all over my hospital gown. I could not tell a difference with or without it though. I had no pain post op at all.
  14. How are things going for you? Wow 43 pounds! Keep up the losing

  15. I went to my PCP for my 6 month physician supervised weight loss. He was the one who referred me to the bariatric surgeon and knew what I was going through. So I typed up my own letter of medical necessity. I had it in printed form and on a jump drive. I even had the receptionist print it on my PCP's letterhead. He could change it if he wanted or just sign the thing. He signed it. It was quicker, less work for him, and it said the things I needed it to say.

    Sleeved 2 days ago

I had the On Q (with out asking for it), but I must move a lot in my sleep since the tubes came out and the medicine was leaking all over my hospital gown. It was removed and I could tell no difference at all. I had no pain before and none after the On Q was removed.

    Emory bariatrics

I had my surgery at Emory Crawford Long or Emory University Hospital in Midtown Atlanta. My surgeon was S Scott Davis, Jr. The facility and the surgeon were both very good. I did not always like the call center that the surgeon's office used. Getting calls through or returned was sometimes difficult. I have heard that they changed the call center after I went through, so hopefully that has been resolved.
