Time off work is based on the individual, I plan on taking 5 weeks off from work one reason my company will pay me for it and the second reason is I would like to stay home and get use to the new stomach and eating habits that come with it. Hope this helps!:lol0:

Welcome! The main reason I told no one I was having surgery was because I did not want to hear that statement " You don't need this surgery"
Remember you are doing this for yourself and no one else the insurance company would not have approved you if there was not need. Tell everyone, thanks for your concern, but your not in my shoes then smile and walk away.

My one year office visit with my surgeon is this Tuesday and I know he's going to ask why I did not work harder to reach his goal. I'm '5"4 and my current weight 150 lbs, I'm not built like others I can wear a size 4 jean. So my plan is to explain to him that I love being 150 and I can maintain this weight for the rest of my life and I also plan on wearing my size 4 skinny jeans to my appointment....lol When I weighed 170 I was wearing a size 6 and now all of my size 6 pants and skirts are to big. Are their any other sleevers out their whose weight on the scale and clothes size look odd?
What I would like to know also, was it wrong for me not to meet my surgeons goal? I wanted WLS to save my life and to be happy currently I'm very happy with the energy I have to play with my daughter, and my ablity to workout for an hour and not feel like I'm having a heart attack. People I've not seen for a long time are amazed and they keep telling me how skinny I look and please don't lose anymore weight....I usually respond I'll keep that in mind thanks. I do plan on having implants and my bat wings removed but again I'm doing what makes me happy.
How many sleevers are fustrated because they have not met the goal set by their surgeon and have not realized or enjoyed the weight loss accomplishments they have achieved.

Although, I've never experience this myself when I was obese I've seen it happen recently and I'm hurt that people can be such jerks. No matter your size we are all human beings, now that I've hit goal the same jerks comment negatively to me with comments like "shut up" skinny or Your skinny now we don't need your advice. So in this society your damn if you do or damn if you don't.....LOL

Five months ago, Dr. Nick did my surgery at Forest Park in Dallas. I had no problems after surgery and went home after one night. I have lost 79 pounds so far - dropping from 24W's to "regular" 14's. I've lost 8 1/2 inches from by bust and waist, and 9 1/2 inches from by hips. I can wear my wedding rings again - in fact I am the size I was when I got married. I need to get the wedding dress out of storage and see if it still fits - I have my doubts - the sand in the hourglass may weigh the same - but it isnt' distributed like it used to be.
I have had a wonderful time reaquainting myself with clothes I haven't seen in years. The thrift store closest to me (benefits battered women) has benefited from a lot of my clothes. Also, my business suits have gone to a charity that gets underpriveledged woman back into the work force - they needed plus size business attire and I didn't want to keep it in my house!
I am doing Zumba now, and have bought myself a nice elliptical machine. I feel much better now than I did before - off of 3/4 of my BP medicine, all of my cholesterol medication, Prozac, advil for my joints, and the damn CPAP machine. I am only taking Vitamins, Iron, Calcium, acid meds, RHT, and Biotin for hair loss.
Can't wait to see what the next 5 months will bring!

lena Hello, So i change my mind on the surgery, I'm doing a plication not a sleeve my day is Monday the 18th with Dr Ortiz in Tijuana I went to the bank to get a check to pay for the full payment and i'm sitting in my car in the parking lot thinking what the hell am i doing . should i just accepet myself to be this way and be miserable, or should i have the surgery and star to live again, so i went enside got a check and fax it to them ,i think i made the right decision,so now i'm waiting for the big day.
