  1. I don't often feel hunger- but I can tell when I need something to eat- I feel a bit dizzy or light headed. I eat about every 3 hours, high protein, low carb food such as 4 pieces of shrimp, 3 hours later about an ounce and a half of chicken breast or steak. For a snack I might have a few pork rinds. I drink mostly water but on occasion I have decaf tea or coffee with stevia and sugar free creamer. I can eat more if I eat slider foods or carbs but those tend to have a rebound effect of increased craving for more. If I stay on track tho, I'm very satisfied with my mini meals even if they aren't complete meals by most traditional standards.

    Weightloss Expectations

Today is my 3 month surgiversary- if I include the weight I lost with the pre op diet the week before surgery- I've lost a total of 68 lbs in 3 months. I do mostly low carb but treat myself once in a while to a bite of whatever I want.
  3. Fantastic letter! Glad you have gotten supportive responses from your friends.
  4. Finally going through my closet to go through my clothes- I've lost nearly 60 lbs so far. I'm holding up pants that could fit two of me in and shirts that could pass for dresses and wondering --- REALLY? Did I REALLY ever fit into these clothes or did they GROW?

  5. Fabulous! Way to go! :biggrinjester:
  6. Sept. 8, 2011 Lost 54 lbs since surgery or 60 if I include weight-loss on the pre op diet
  7. I've had a tiny splash of ketchup on my eggs and I've used a tiny bit of arby's sauce on my bun-less sandwich- it hasn't taken me out of ketosis- but I watch my carbs and put everything down into myfitnesspal.com so that I can keep track. Also that bun-less arby's small sandwich lasted me for 3 days- so I think if the amount you eat is very small - if you have to have it- try it and see how things go. I also use full fat mayo but I use mayo very rarely- only in tuna or just a little on a wasa flat bread. I lose at a steady pace when I keep my carbs around 35 per day- but not everyone is led to be carb conscious. I'm very carb sensitive.
  8. I had a teeny piece of my brothers Deep Fried Turkey about one teaspoon sized- one same sized portion of my Father's smoked turkey- a very teensy bite of ham, 1 teaspoonful of green been casserole and one tiny bite of this wonderful gluten free homemade apple loaf. Then I splurged and had 2 tiny sips of some sparkling grape juice which went down ok- to my surprise- but I left it sit in the ice for a long time before I tasted it. And I lost another 2 lbs since day before yesterday which broke my 1 week stall- when I went out of town to visit my friend at the spinal cord rehab facility and had a really hard time finding low carb/high protein foods. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
  9. Hi Amy- I'm in Hampton Roads. :biggrinjester:

    Fresh Fruit & Veggies

I'm 2 months out today and I tried salad for the first time. I got a salad from subway and ate about 1/10 of the salad and all of the meat. It took me all day long- but so far no symptoms with my tummy and actually before surgery my tummy was a little sensitive when I ate a lot of lettuce but I seem to be feeling fine and boy was that salad good. First one I've had since August.

    Ketosis

I like to stay in ketosis. I check every day with the dip sticks. Unless I go over 45 carbs I'm steady with ketosis and it does help my weight loss. I go into a stall for a few days if I eat too many and then it takes me a good 2-3 days to get back in and the weight loss kicks right in. Also, the smell is always described as fruity but to me it smells like gasoline. It's a weird kind of smell for sure.
  12. Fantastic- you look awesome!
  13. The two main types of e-liquid are known as PG Propylene Glycol – used in food flavorings and also in fog machines at nightclubs to produce the smoke appearance and VG Vegetable Glycerin which is more syrupy and is derived from vegetables. Generally the PG has a better throat hit and flavor than VG while VG can produce a little more vapor. PG is the most common e-liquid on the market today. PG is the standard generic Fluid used in most mixes and is ~80% of a standard fluid mix . VG is sometimes used but not common. When some have an allergic reaction to PG (~3% of folks) VG is an option when buying fluid. In stock carto's however it isn't available in mass if at all (that I know of). VG is generally thinned down with a 5% alcohol base since it is thicker, but the advantage is it has an increased vapor over PG. It also is blamed for a softening of throat hit (as it's called dumb term, but..) and flavor. Because of that many don't like using VG, due to the softening , many mix match to get a balance and added vapor (say a 50/50% mix). VG is sweeter as well. VG is thinned with alcohol, but not in a large percentage (above). A 24 mix can be cut """but """ at the expense of flavor. So if you cut your 24mg in half with a 50% mix of (either)VG or PG, you of course get a 12mg but you also lose half the flavoring content. Best to buy a matching fluid in (say) 12mg and cut 50/50 , getting 18mg end product, with the same flavor. See the methodology ? 14. I'm down about 34 lbs since day of surgery- I have psoriatic arthritis but it's been mild lately of course the weather is changing but- I'm having increased lower back pain since I've lost weight. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal or if I might be adjusting to the weight loss and standing different or doing something different with my posture. Has anyone else experienced this?
  15. Raine- how is it bothering your mouth? Some people are sensitive to the pg- versus vg type liquids-

    strange cravings

When I get a salt craving- I want Kalamata Olives.
  17. Yeah- hmm maybe we are doing something posture wise- maybe our body's haven't caught up from losing some weight rather quickly- is what I was thinking - well at least I'm in good company with it- hope it eases up for us all.
  18. Haven't been able to get more than 300 calories per day in since Sunday- my best friend was in an accident and she's paralyzed- Anything I tried to eat felt like a huge knot in my stomach for hours. Today I got some chinese food bourbin chicken and left the rice out- it was heavenly and so moist. So glad I got some food in!

    Tasty Goodness

I made some of that for my office on my first day back to work and brought tortilla chips for them- I make it with boneless chicken breast- I ate a few bites with out the chips and it was soooo good.
  20. I have a juicer- I was going to ask if juicing fruits would be too many sugars since I'm just 6 weeks out- and I'm watching carbs and sugar content. Glad you mentioned it - I'm going to ask on my next appt.

    E-Cig

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/ I use the Tornada (tank) mega but the regular Tornado is nice too. These are much bigger than some offered and don't look or feel like a cigarette but they do have some that look like cigarettes if holding a cigarette is a big part of your habit- I highly recommend the Tank versions- as its so simple to refill and last longer. Here is the link for the liquids I normally get cherry or apple red label and I've gotten the tobacco flavored to but I ended up preferring the apple and cherry- you can order most of these in 0mg or even taper down to eventually get to 0mg. These is a 1-800 number if you need help making sure you have picked out the correct parts- for your unit or have other questions and they have kits- that have everything in one box. Definitely get the manual one with the button to push. http://www.totallywi...d-products.html
