    Healthy Eating for April Sleevers

Stacy - it gets better as time goes by. I am 16 days post op and I am not having any trouble eating at this point. When I was just a week post op I could start on a few solids, i.e. refried Beans, scrambled egg, tuna salad, thin deli meat. I would only eat a few bites and be done. Now I am eating more. I think you just need time to heal. Renee

    Choices

I had been looking at WLS for several years and initially thought about the Band. However, I did not like the idea of something foreign in me and the doctor's visits to get fills to keep your restriction (or unfills if they put too much in). Also did not like the idea of intestines rerouted with RNY. I am two weeks post op and it has been a breeze. Some soreness, but really surprised it was not worse. I'm ready to get my life back! Best of luck to you. Renee

  10. Glad to hear you are getting along well. I had my 1 week checkup and everything looks good. Dr. told me he would see me in 2 months and I would be a whole lot skinner! Sounds good to me. I have started on some sort solids and seem to be doing well. Back to work yesterday and survived, but it was a long day!

    april 18th sleevers how r u??

Hi all. I was sleeved April 13. Lots of Black and Blue on my tummy! Went back to work today and all seems to be going well. Just really tired tonight.
  12. I'm good. Am 12 days post op and getting along well. Including 2 week preop diet, I'm down 30 pounds. I have a long ways to go, but am off to a good start! Do you have a date yet? Renee

  13. Kathy....Congratulations on your success!!! You look fantastic! I finally got sleeved - April 13, so am just 12 days post op and starting my journey. Hoping I am as successful as you!!! Way to go Girl!! Renee

  14. Hey Deb. Good to hear from you. I am doing well. I have tried scrambled eggs, egg salad, refried beans, lite yogurt, SF pudding, deli turkey rollup with cream cheese and so far so good. I don't seem to be having trouble adjusting. The only bad thing is the head hunger for some of favoriite foods. I have taken a bite and spit it out just to satisfy my cravings. Not sure that this is good....

  15. Jennifer. I went back and read thru your blog. You are doing amazing. Really appreciate all the inside information on your blog. I'm doing well. Back to work today. Renee

  16. Happy Easter my friend!

  17. Hey Kathy! I'm finally sleeved!! How are you?

  18. Welcome Lily and good luck on your surgery on Monday!
  19. What's a support belt? I am 10 days postop and still sore when I'm moving around.
  20. I am eating about 1/4 cup or 2 oz at a time. Takes me about 20 min to each my meal. Sounds like maybe your tummy is still pretty swollen. I go back to work on Monday. Not sure I'm ready for that as my tummy is still sore.

  21. How's it going? Just thought I check on you to see how your journey back to real food is going. So far so good for me - haven't puked yet anyway!! I've tried a scrambled egg, cottage cheese, deli turkey with small amount of cream cheese rolled up, and refried beans so far. I'm going to make deviled eggs for easter so that will be my next adventure! Hope all is going well for you. Renee

    !!! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT !!!

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU MUST BE SOOOO PROUD OF YOURSELF. YOU ARE TRULY AN INSPIRATION TO THOSE OF US JUST STARTING THIS JOURNEY!!! Renee
  23. I was the same. I tried to talk myself out of it as it got closer and was pretty nervous about the surgery as my extra weight had given me high blood pressure, etc. Anyway....it was a breeze. I am now 9 days Post Op and was actually surprised it was not as bad as expected and the doctor, nurses, etc. were amazing. Have faith -- you will be fine and will be feeling and moving better in no time. I am down 26 pounds since I started my preop diet, but still have a long way to go. Hang in there!
  24. Good Luck to you on your upcoming surgery!

  25. I purchased BLIS insurance. This is insurance for WLS patients. You may want to check into this. My doctor's office offered it, but possibly it could be found online.
