    Anyone Else From Oregon?

    No, in Vegas.
  3. Having people who didn't know me before refer to me as "tiny".
  4. Having people that didn't know me before talk about something and say "well, you wouldn't know about that since you're so tiny". Makes me grin and pull out my phone to show my before pictures!!!

    Has Anyone Ever Experienced....

Sounds like your blood sugars were low. That happens to me sometimes. Best remedy is a quick dose of protein - string cheese is my go-to.

OregonDaisey is from Oregon. I AMA "neighbor" in Washington. Where, I must say we are having a run of sunny days in April!!!

    New Friend Issues.

When I started losing weight, I was also very angry with all the male attention. I literally had men holding doors for me when I was very far from the door. Maybe it's a little childish, but I play it up now ... My husband (to which I love and very happily married) laughs at how men seem to line up to "help me out". And, it's not just men - women seen to be nicer as well. I just try to enjoy it now.
  12. $10k in Vegas through medical tourism.com. Coordinator was Hazel - she was awesome!!!
  13. Not to be too Polly-Anna, but she only gained back half. (she is still 1/2 way there!) How many times have we lost, gained, and added more??? She has the tool. It is up to her (and each of us) to use it.

    Completely Terrified

You are VERY normal! If you weren't scared or at least concerned that you might be part of the small percentage of complications, I would be more concerned. Just try to keep moving forward. You have faith in your surgeon. You have decided to take charge of your life. You will succeed! I too had fears of complications. I was POSITIVE I would end up failing. But guess what? I did it. Me! The one who could never keep the loss off for more than a month or two. Me! The one who gained it all back plus more. ME!!!!!! You can do it! Let us know how we can support you.
  15. As of today's weigh in ... 3 pounds to go. I am doing it!!!!
  16. I know about 10 people with lap bands (support groups, friends, etc). None of them have met goal and 4 have had them removed due to issues. The most recent is a very close friend - in fact, she was the one who inspired me to look into weightloss surgery. The Band did so much damage to her esophogus/stomach - she was in surgery for almost 6 hours repairing the damage (and this was after having no fill for the past year)! She was in the hospital for 4 days. Her surgery was 2 weeks ago and she is still only able to tolerate small amounts of liquid without nausea. It will be several months before she is able to eat solids again and there is no guarantee she won't have food issues once she gets to solids. If this is my "network" experience with the band, think of what else is out there!!!! She was advised that there is a Civil Action Suit against the Band makers and was asked if she wanted to take part. Yes, there are risks in any surgery, but the Sleeve seems to have the best outcomes of what is availalbe today to help the obese. I would RUN from the BAND!!!!!!
  17. No flaming from me either. I was not a strict low-carber. And, McDonalds and similiar fast food restaurants are part of my life and have been since I've been on solid foods. BUT, I do make smarter choices. Kids Happy Meal (only 1/2 bun so I can fit in the burger), chicken Breast, etc. I also plan for my treats - glass of wine in the evening, small ice cream cone made with lowfat ice cream, etc. I do believe there are some that must be very strict about their carbs in order to lose weight. Fortunately, I did not. But for others, this is a struggle and I applaud their efforts. We all have to figure out "our path" on this journey.
  18. I dream of a TT ... but I keep using the money for other things such as Baby Adoptions. Guess the baby was more important! LOL!
  19. ok ... forgot to update. Another 0.2 down. Not a lot, but it is in the right direction. Will be hitting the gym tonight. Wasn't able to go last week due to major migraines.
  20. Isn't it weird how different we all are? If I got back down to my goal weight (-5 pounds) and had a tummy tuck, I would be in the 11X number and be completely normal for my body build. But alas, even with the 5 pounds gone, I still have the extra skin. Oh well - that may happen some day. But for now, I'll take the -5 pounds and be happy (with my shirt on and shorts to cover the thigh) LOL!
