  1. WOW! It's like you dropped 30 years off of yourself!
  2. And you know what- everything has a time and purpose- so if you are denied- there was a reason! But if you are accepted which by what you have said - you meet all requirements- why would they deny you? Keep your focus about you and aim for your goals!!
  3. Good Luck!! I 'll be praying for ya!
  4. Well Thanks guys- but now I just dont know- they said the ultrasound and whatever bloodwork they did came back fine- but it hurts really bad on my right side after I eat- and I feel like I could throw up- this happens a lot at night - and have just an over all exhausted don't feel good feeling all over- I don't know now if it even is my gallbladder- of course i am the only one left in my family that has one- and my dads burst on him and they had just done an ultrasound and said his was fine too- sooo I;ll just pray that this to shall pass. . .
  5. Oh- that is so sweet- He might have just been worried about you- is why he didn't seem supportive- I know my husband does not want me to have the surgery- but also wants me to be happy and healthy- this was his way of showing you that-

PRAISE GOD! He is soo good!
  7. yeah- that is what I am worried about- the recovery time and if they can even do it- I am the main cargiver for my two kids and my parents- and I only have two weeks I can take off-
  8. I tried looking- but couldn't find anything - Has anyone had their gallbladder taken out and the sleeve done at the same time? Mine they think is acting up and I am getting ready to have the sleeve surgery but - don't want two surgeries- I just want to get it over with in one big scoop- ---
  9. WOW! Like someone said earlier- I don't know where you will get 74 more lbs off- but you look so much healthier!! keep up the GOOD Work!!
  10. Yep- My I did all my homework - my insurance only requires a psych and nutrition evaluation and thats it- well besides the bmi and weight related conditions. BUT found out today- even tho I had told them every time I spoke with them that I wanted the sleeve- they turned it in for the band - so pretty frustrated with that- but it will either work out or it won't- I am not going to fret to much about it.
  11. Hey- You are the first person I have met to have this done there- I went in and saw Dr. Malley- but is Dr. Fearing the one that actually does these? I was told they do them at Menorah on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month- so I guess we will see- my insurance does pay- but I am right now waiting to see if they approve it- I called yesterday and even tho they had it Friday- they can't find it now- so that is frustrating- what are their pre op diet requirements? I would be very interested in knowing your story since we have the same doctor! I am nervous and excited and all in the same time want to just get it over with. But would love to hear any info you have from them- as their website is all about the lap=band.
  12. I think you should get your money back also- that is a HIPPA violation- and they can face serious penalties for that.- Maybe you should suggest seeking further action if this is how they are going to treat their patients- new or not.
  13. I haven't had VSG yet either but have had 5 other ab. surg. - so anyway- I have had some tenderness up to 2-3 months out near my incision sites- its just you "guts" healing- its what I have been told- It truely takes your insides almost 6 months to really heal up good- at least that is what all the other doctors have told me. And from time to time- you will bend, or stretch or squish your fat lol a certain way and it just reminds you that OH I am still healing.
  14. Hey, I am also near KC- but I am using Dr. Malley and Dr. Fuehring at New Hope Bariatrics- well they do the sleeve at Menorah Hospital- the process has been very easy- and because I am going thru them I didn't need as much of the studies and all that- I did a psych eval and a nutritionist and thats it. They turned it all in to insurance yesterday to approve - hopefully! Waiting.... I agree- I think we should somehow get together - it would be nice to have local support
  15. I have PCOS also- i am worried that after surgery I won't loose anything- I mean I know it is crazy- but when I even went thru a period of starving myself I only lost 5 lbs in 3-4 months-but also didn't feel good and didn't take all the vitamins. I guess just my head getting the best of me.
  16. O - I don't know about Ensure- my doctor said NOT to take that and everything I read said its a no-no. So I am not sure- have to do more study on that one.
  17. Yep I tried the Blue Raspberry Isopure today- it was VERY sweet- and made me think of something they make you drink for like a glucose tolerance test or something that you have to try to chug down some way- I couldn't handle even the sip or two I took- gag-
  18. I just tried the Blue Raspberry and it is so very super sweet - I couldn't handle it- maybe if it was diluted with Water or ice- maybe mixed in a vanilla Protein shake with ice chips or something - ugh.
  19. does anyone have this insurance- just wondering how long it took them to approve you from when it was turned in? Thanks.
  20. Yes- I guess- I don't watch TV much- but he does a lot of lap-band- I am wanting the sleeve- I turn in all my paperwork to insurance tomorrow- so we will see- He says he waited to do the sleeve because he wanted to make sure it was a good surgery for people and had good results over time- but I am not finding anyone that has had this surgery with him- so maybe that will be a good question that I should see how many he has actually done-
  21. Hi, I am getting ready to have my surgery with Dr. Malley- Has anyone heard of anyone having him do the surgery? I live near Lees Summit, mo.
  22. Yep- It helps it from just hanging- therefore heals faster and less stretched over the time of loosing it- especially if you are also working out- - the "bouncing" isn't so much so that the skin does stay in place.
  23. Thanks guys- that kinda makes me more aware of what it will be like-
  24. Hi, I just wanted to ask- I have had two c-sections and a hysterectemy and then later a tumor and ovaries taken out- everyone is talking about getting up and walking immediately - am I right to assume that this surgery will not be like the others - in that you dont fill like you are ripping in half when you stand up or in severe pain?
  25. That is great! I bet you feel sooo much better now!!
