  1. Hi, I do better when I take my flinestones lol and my B-12 and my gummy bear fish oil lol- and drink water- I have a lot of bathroom #2 issues- but I know its because I can not get all my water in- I still eat to fast and feel like I am having a heart attatck or think NO I AM GOING TO EAT THIS and my body goes OH NO YOUR NOT and up it comes- lol but I am learning- and even though in my mind I havnt lost what I thought I would or I don't know maybe I just have set myself up to fail so many times- but I have lost 40lbs in a little over a month - so I don't think I am doing to bad- but you know the mind games we play with ourseleves can get rediculous some times lol.
  2. so excited- I had surgery 5/2 and have lost 40lbs! Coming in at 207- I made this my first goal because it was the smallest I have been since having my first son- in 2001- Ok- so next goal 198! - Just to be in the 100's - havn't been that small in years! I have lost over 20" and went from a tight 22 to a loose 18! Never thought that would happen in just a little over a month! PRAISE GOD!
  3. I was sleeved 5/2 and know exactly what you are going thru- I still am easily tired- and have the pain in my chest- like something is caught or something- but i have really struggled with nausea - It does get slowly better- it just takes time to heal- my doctor also recommended not taking a bite any bigger than your pinky fingernail! - I was like yeah right- but when I do- it helps- and chew chew chew - before i swallow- by the time I eat two normal bites worth - I am either full- or everyone else is done with their big plates full of food.
  4. Hey- I havn't been on here in a while either- but Herbalife shakes is what I used- and still use- they are great and I have like 50 recipes for them- there is also a place in downtown Lee's Summit, MO- called "The Daily Shake" - She can help you a lot too! These are the best by far! Take Care, Tina Oh- and I am 1 month and 9 days out and have lost 40lbs! Yeah!
  5. Ok- I am having a lot of problems with just taking things in and feeling like I am going to throw up- like there isn't even room for liquids in there- and so when I try to eat anything of substance- I get sick and up it comes- Mystee and I had the same doctor - and she is having the same issues- but she is a few weeks further out than me - I have lost 35lbs in less than a month- I am glad that I am not really "hungry" - just slow sipping- chewing (not really chewing yet mostly swishing lol)- I don't know know whats up- but I know this to shall pass (I hope) - I am one month on thursday- Take care, tina
  6. OH my I see- Well the best of luck on your journey!! I know Dr.Malley did mine - and his office is brand new at it- Lap-band pro- but his office is a little lacking on info for this procedure- so I do understand - Hope you can find someone and take care!!
  7. Are you sleeved? I guess it does say 14 days post- I can not even imagine eating that much - I eat 1/2 cup of anything and throw up- I am only 4 weeks out tho- ANYWAYS- Like the others said- TODAY IS A NEW DAY! There is nothing you can do about it now except learn and forget about it- Take care!!
  8. I am sorry I don't know of anyone- but just a quick question- why down there? There are several well qualified doc's here in the area? Just asking--
  9. Dansha- You are so funny! Congrats on your weight loss!!
  10. I am 4 weeks-and I had sharp pains like that- but yours sounds even worse- I would call the doctors office- usually they all have on-call nurses or doctors. Better safe than sorry- maybe you did pull an internal stitch. ?
  11. Ok - so I know this may be normal- but I have started getting really nauseated when others eat- I don't know- like wow -are you really going to shove all that in your mouth- I don't know if I am just jealous- cause I want to too- or it's really making me sick to my stomach- my husband is the worst- he is 6'2" and 200lbs and to me he is thin and eats like a garbage disposal -anyway- my other issue I really get upset cause I just want to eat "normal" again- not really normal- just whatever- I am only a month out- but I am still having to eat mostly shakes and liquid cause I am so nausated all the time- yes my doctor has given me several medicines- I just can't handle it- any suggestions- besides pull up my big girl panties- cause I am really yanking on them and its not working out so well lol. Thanks, Tina
  12. I do just because that is what I am used to- I measure out my food- and when I drink I usually don't even eat all of it- but my paper does say don't do it- but only cause of the reason listed above about over eating
  13. Hi, I am Tina, I live on the MO side. I am currently 4 days away from being a month out and have lost 34lbs so far. My doctors were Dr. Fearing and Dr. Malley and I had surgery at Menorah-so far so great! Have trouble with nausea and not getting much down- but in the end- its mostly my head saying Hey I want that now eat it and my stomach saying Whoa! I absolutely hated the drain tube- but now just like when having a baby its becoming a distant memory (the pain that is lol) I do have one spot where my body just rejected the internal stitch and it sticks out- its plastic and I go on wednesday to have it pulled/cut out- - I am glad you started this Amy- I think it helps knowing others in your own area are having the same issues.
  14. I had this too! It is horrible- and my family is like your breath smells like poop! (which of course didn't help me emotionally lol) but it does go away- my doctor said I just will need to keep drinking and keep brushing your tongue- it does go away- I am 4 weeks out now and only have it when I wake up in the morning and didn't drink much the night before.
  15. Thanks guys for all the suggestions- I went ahead and tried them- made them pretty runny with my soy milk- but it was a no go- so i will wait -
  16. Thats the problem- my doctors guide is vague- and since they mostly do lap-bands- its the eating guide for them- and eggs is no where on any of the lists all the way thru-
  17. I am two weeks out- can I start eggs?
  18. Or something like- I thought you had a gym membership- why would you spend the money if you aren't going to use it- I know your butt wouldn't be getting that big if you were going.
  19. Me -to my date is May 2nd- and like you - my income pays for everything-I MEAN EVERYTHING- so I am praying that nothing goes wrong or anything- because it would be devastating to my family- and on the other end- if I don't have this done and keep going like I am - it will still be devastating- so- sending prayers for you and me!
  20. SO- Is your current weight still 260? Or have you passed that?
  21. I think I have heard that some have and some havn't but from what I read- I think the ones that say they didnt have one- actually did they just took it out before they came to- my last surgery they waited till I was fully awake when they took it out- it is a little uncomfy- but no worse than the other pain you will experience- lol-they pull it out rather quickly so - it could kind of sting the first time you go pee- but Ive had them take it out and I was just fine-
  22. OH- AND DONT FORGET LIP BALM OR CHAP STICK- Ive had lots of surgeries and your lips always get dry and chapped like!
  23. WOW so many of us- my date is May 2nd also! In Overland Park, Ks- Two week preop diet- so far I have lost 10lbs- but my preop diet is 2 Protein Shakes and a smart ones meal- and all the broth, Jello and liquids - I have went thru all that too- thinking- hey- I can do this I don't need surgery but like was said before- I couldn't keep this up- I have tried- many times lol - so HERES TO US! Wish you all the best!! Cant wait to see how you all do!! AND I did cheat on Easter- but not to bad- I just had ham and greenbeans and a roll - but then like said before that turned into a corndog and corn chips later lol- EXACT REASON WE NEED THE SURGERY! But havnt gained anything back- and on track the rest of the time- so thats good!
  24. Hi- Like you- I have learned sooo much in just this first week of my preop diet- that I don't have to drink 4 Rt 44 Diet Cokes a day- first of all- is a huge blessing- I sleep and feel so much better - I have lost 10lbs in one week- and like you - I have learned distraction- like- asking myself- am I really hungry or is it just cause my co-worker next to me is eating this huge hot juicy cheeseburger- and I am bored- lol- but really- I have not been too hungry- granted there has been times when i just wanted something bad- but I put my big girl panties on and sucked it up- and had a bottle of water and then measured my hunger- my preop has been 2 shakes and a smartones meal- so it's not like it has all been liquids- but it has really had a freedom that I hope to continue to enjoy after I am sleeved next monday. (but I am getting very freaked out- or just excitement mixed with the uncertainity that others have put into my head lol ) Good Luck to you on your adventure!!
  25. I know this was a serious post- but I read that and laughed out loud! lol- haha- You don't know how many times I get my fat roll stuck in my rib and it hurts soooo bad- can't wait to loose the rolls so that dont happen anymore- lol But on a serious note- if you find the pain is really still there and its not your pants- better call your doctor-
