  1. I am happy to say that I'm finely sleeved!!!! I feel a lot better then I thought I would. In fact the only real complaint I have is being tired and still a little sore but that's not bad considering I'm only 10 days post-surgery. I was Sleeved Dr. Alvarez on 4/9/11 and I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with my choice of surgeons. He was better then everyone described. His bedside manner is unbelievable. He is so kind and caring..... and ladies I have to say it, he is smokin HOT! After surgery I woke up in my room (in NO pain), with him there holding my hand and telling me how well my surgery went. Then IT happened..... that filter between my head and mouth stopped working and I told him just how HOT he was. LOL Yep I had some good drugs! Dr. Alvarez and his entire staff were so caring and made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I'm entire recovery has been smooth sailing so far. I'm eating some yogurt right now and I feel great. So far I've lost 22lbs since starting my liquid diet on 3/31 (not bad for less then 3 weeks). I"m went back to work on 4/18 and so far so good.
  2. Have you tried the Isopure zero carb waters: http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2612796 They taste like Vitamin Water. I really like them and they are NOT thick and gritty...... thin as water. That way you could get your water and Protein at the same time. My doctor said they were good for all stages from pre to post-op. He also suggested the green tea Isopure for sensitive stomachs. One 20oz bottle gives you 40g of protein.

    Post-Op Diet - Protein shakes???

I can't stand the taste of those either plus the grittiness and thickness makes me gag. My doctor recommended these (Isopure zero carb water) and I really like them. They taste like Vitamin waters: http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2612796 He said these are great for all stages of my diet pre and post surgery. You should give them a try.

    Pre Op Liquid Diet

I just started my diet today. So far it's not too bad. For breakfast I had a Isopure smoothie (32g protein) http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4014932 For lunch I had a sugar-free Jello cup and a zero carb Isopure Water (40g protein). The Apple Melon is pretty good. http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2612796 My doctor said that these were perfect and the water would be great for after surgery as well. I'm sure tonight will be the worst but I know I can DO this. My surgery date is 4/9 so there is no turning back now. I'm ready for my new "soon to be skinny" life to begin

    April Sleevers?

My surgery is scheduled for April 9th with Dr. Alvarez. I start my liquid diet on 3/31. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. It's hard to think about anything else.
  6. I all, I'm new to the group and this is my first posting but I have read a lot of your posted and I find the information very helpful. My surgery is scheduled for 4/9/2011 with Dr. Alvarez. I have read so many wonderful things about Dr. Alvarez and I feel very comfortable selecting him. I live in Minnesota and we've had 60+ inches of snow this year so I'm looking forward to flying somewhere warm. I'm to start my 10 day liquid diet on 3/31. I'm not looking forward to that but I've done a lot of reading and have ordered Isopure smoothies and Isopure Zero Carb drinks. If you haven't tried the smoothies, they're pretty good. Does anyone know if I can drink these the first 2 weeks after surgery? What other good post-op drinks do you recommend? Thanks for letting me post.
