Hello I know exactly what you mean, I got a plication in August 2010 and have not lose anymore what since September 2010, I wish I live closer as I would be going to see him and ask what can I do now, I spent all this money and haven't lose anymore weight, still watch what I eat, now exercise as people know I have gone for surgery and I haven't lost any weight. I wish now that I would of had other surgery as I spent a lot of money for what no weight lose, Would Dr, Roderigues in Juarez Mx help me send me a ticket to fly down so he could look at the surgery and see if it is working..or offer me help, I was told that I would lose at least 10 lbs NOT TRUE, I was looking forward to that, very disappointed in Gastric Vertical Plication Surgery!!! .
  2. Hello again: I am back with the same complain just a couple months different, I got my gastric sleeve plication on August 9, 2010 and lost approximately 50lbs, in the first few month, the scales have not move since September . I have brought a treadmill, an eplicite machine, I exercise, eat small meals 6 times a day and drink all my Water and still no weight lose, yes I have lost inches, have gone from a size 28 to a size 20 but no weight lost, I need to see the numbers move....I was told that I would lose 10lbs a month just weight watching what I ate, I eat half of what I eat before and still no weight lose. It is very, very upsetting to spend all this money and not get the result that this tool is suppose to do....Yes I get I am not gaining any weight but come on there has to be some number lost to continue, it is now hard to explain to people and co workers that I exactly had surgery and tell them the positive of spending the 6200.00 (us funds) for what!!! Please some one help me, explain to me what is up other then monitor my food intake, do that with Live strong, never eat more then I am suppose to, exercise, drink your water, doing that and still not even close to moving the scale..... I am beyond frustrated, HELP!!! DR. Rod what now!!!! Kathy
  3. Thank you for your advise, it is funny but I just went to the doctors for full blood work, will be getting the results on Friday....I want to lose to be at least 178lbs, so I need to lose at least 100 pounds, it seems so far off, I take a multi vitamin with out iron... I eat carbs, mostly whole wheat bread, smart pasta, with olive oil, no heavy sauces, baked chicken, lots of veggies, mostly a greek diet.... Thank again for your response , it does give me food for thought. Cheers Kathy
  4. Hello I had my plication on August 9th, 2010 and have lose only 20lbs, fellow co-worker had gastric sleeve surgery and has lost 86 pounds and she had her surgery in July 2010. I am feeling a little disappointed and puzzled, sad and wondering if I ever am going to lose my weight or am I to be this size forever!!!!!. Having a very difficult time, did I pick the right surgery?!?

    The rate of weight loss

Thank you for your encouragment it helps alot when you feel down, I hope to be you in 3 years from now...a 110lb is great...and my oldest will be graduating just about then....should be great photo's of me and him.. Cheers Kathy, It doesn't sound like you are doing anything "wrong". You have lost 35 pounds in about 2 1/2 months! That's great!!! It seems that most people who've had WLS seem to hit a stall at around month 2. I think your body is just adjusting to all that has happened to it. I was an extremely sloooow loser with the band and it took me about 3 years to lose 110 lbs. but I did lose it. I kept most of that weight off for 9 years so maybe it's better to lose it a bit more slowly to allow your body some time to adjust?! If you are following the rules: eating protein first, staying hydrated and exercising a bit, I'm sure the weight will come off. take care, genepha

    The rate of weight loss

Hello Sarah I have over a 100lbs to lose still and since Aug I have lost 35lbs and the scale for me have not moved in over a month, I watch what I eat as does everyone else now who knows I have had my surgey so, I consistly say it took a long time to put the weight on so it is going to take a long time to lose it, but in my head I am thinking I got this surgery to aid in my weight loss but it doesn't seem to be working for me!! Not sure what I am doing wrong...
