Please talk some sense into me...
Unfortunately, the measurements haven't changed... the boots are new, what I meant was that I have never been able to buy a pair off the shelf and zip em up to the top... normally there is an inch or two left unzipped and a pair of trousers or jeans covering it!! My boots that are currently in my wardrobe still don't fit up...boooo hooooo... but I have a new pair now...YEY!! =]

Body image changes after WLS
Interesting update for me... I was told that I looked small and narrow by a friend the other day, at first I thought it was just words of kindness cos of this damn stall - yes I was bleating on about it to my friends too! Anyway, she compared me to her sister, who has ALWAYS been smaller than me...ALWAYS!! i sat there and didn't believe a word of it and in the end the actually measured us....lol.... I was a good 3 inches narrower!!! I was absloutely gob smacked! My own body image is really distorted and I think I need to work on this too... It is interesting to hear others say that it has taken a while for the head to catch up with the body, I am starting to understand that a little now!

8 wks post op today & so discouraged
Hey,,, 30lb in 8 weeks is fantastic!!!! Please don't compare yourself to others... I made that mistake and it was really discouraging! Everyone is different - thankfully- and we all do this in different ways... Some low carb and lose, some eat carb and lose etc. It really is a waste of time and energy looking at others weight loss. Just remember the last time you lost 30lb in 8 weeks... have you done that before because I know I haven't!! and besides which, look at it like this... it is 30lb you will never see again in 30 years!! As far as the stall goes... this is completely normal as most of us go through it... and again, yes it is frustrating. I am in the middle of one two and I am 5 mths out! Remember at 8 weeks you are at the end of the healing process and the stall is just your bodies way of taking some 'time out' and readjustng... it will come off again! Chin up and keep us posted x

Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?
Diva, we are defo on the same page... I too seem to weigh a lot heavier that others in my size... I put it down to having a lot of muscle...lol!!! NOT! I haven't really thought of a 'goal' size until now and I think it will be a size 12 UK for me in tops and bottoms... I am already down from a UK 22/24 to a UK 18... so if that is the case I am half way there....YEY!! =]

THE STALL HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!
OMG... Angie... you look absolutely fabulous!!!! Stunning dress, I would be posting this too!! i am in the middle of a stupid stall and it is getting me down, I am trying to be positive but it is difficult, espeically as I ain't even half way to goal yet... so, to see a post like yours gives me hope and inspiration cos I want that dress...lol WELL DONE!! =]

Please talk some sense into me...
Hey all thought I would give a quick up date... On my offical weigh day, I weighed the same, no loss , no gain... my measurements were to same too... so I guess my stall is still with me. What I have no come to accept, again, is that these stalls are par for the course with me (and many others) and it is something that I am just gonna have to get used to. I HAVE to get to my goal weight, I HAVE to do this... the whole reason for spending the money and having major surgery is to get fit and have a longer and healthier life. I suppose I have to accept that this is going to take a long time... but I will get there. I think that the stall might be hormonal... my cycle is a mess, both before and after surgery... I am going to monitor it and if I need to I will go see my doc. ANY HOW... I thought I would share a NSV with you all...on the weekend I bought a pair of calf length boots.... OMG... I could put them on and DO THE ZIP ALL THE WAY UP TO THE TOP... I haven't been able to do that for nearly 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *dances hysterically around the room8 This means, that I can now wear them with a skirt or dress... Check me out ...lol I really don't understand my body and how it works, but I love my new boots... =]

Oh no, Oh no no no no no
Globetrotter.... YEY... GOOD FOR YOU I know I don't lose weight if I don't eat enough... I am hoping my stall will soon pass too!!! x
-
Oh no, Oh no no no no no
Hey Globetrotter... Let us know how you get on... I too am still in a stall and it is mega frustrating, so I am interested in your story too x

"You're losing too much too fast!"
Hey Diva, I, too, wish that I was losing fast... so try not to worry about it, and if possible enjoy it!!!! When peeps have asked me how much more weight I want to lose, I have told them the truth... that is when I get the 'OMG, that is way too much' and 'OMG, you;ll be too thing and look awful'! Yea, people are already making judgements on a weight that I haven't even achieved yet!!! If they are being genunine, then, I feel that is good... just reassure them as the posts above has suggested... but don't stop doing what you are doing...!! Hugs x

Body image changes after WLS
I agree with Chilo on this one... orginally I was thinking of about 135lb ... but things in my mind are changing: a, the rate I am going I will be about 80 before I reach that goal ... lol ... and b, I don't want to look too old... my face seems to be the main place that I have lost weight from!! I would also be happier with a higher BMI and a TT and boob job, not sure I will afford it in this life though, I already have a lot of problem skin around my middle! I suppose I shouldn't be sooooo short...lol! x

Exercising with the WII
Hey Ellie, 2 weeks... how are you feeling so far? I used my WII for the first couple of months, until I felt strong enough to go out and about...lol I mainly did low impact stuff on there, so the marching and walking ones were good for me... be careful though, not to do anything that will put a strain on the stomach muscles... check with your surgeon about when you can exercise the tummy area... Good Luck!
-
Is it me or ….
yep same here, I too get cold easily, whereas before surgery I didn't! And I have had a 'cold' moreoften too... think the body needs longer that I realised to adjust. I don't get the stuffy nose though... in the early days I used to get hicups... but nothing now!

Please talk some sense into me...
. I noticed that you haven't been updating you food diary, I had stopped but started again a few days ago. Has the snow got to you yet?? We have loads, my exercise for the last few days has been shovelling snow and playing out with the girls! DO NOT GIVE UP!!!! Hey Chilo, I stopped tracking as soon as I could see that my main routine was good and hitting where I wanted it to be... I also stopped 'cos I get really obessive with stuff like that and that was one of the reasons I had the sleeve, is not to be obessive...hahahahaaa... and look at me now... moaning and groaning!!! We haven't had much snow, yet, but I am sure it will come over eventually!!! Thanks for all your kind words everyone... I really expected to have a few kicks up my ass... and I appreciate the kindness instead of the kicks... needless to say I will kick myself instead...lol I am still feeling a little down, and gibing myself time for this to ride out naturally instead of making myself feel better... if that makes sense! But I am sure that this cloud will pass over soon... once again... THANK YOU ALL x

Please talk some sense into me...
Hello fellow sleevers, Just thought I would post... I need a pep talk and I know you lot are brillant at this, as I have already read in abundance! Ok, here goes... I am feeling a little hacked off here... since the 9th Oct I have only lost 4lb and 2 inches! I know I was ill during that time- I had pnuemonia and was really poorly... I managed to put 4lb on too - but I just feel like I am failing myself! Since the 2nd Nov I have been feeling 'well'... eating as planned, Protein, protein, protein... low carb and plenty of Water. I am also back in the gym 2-3 times a week, I also walk and swim now too... So, what the heck is going on... I know I am a slow loser and that is fine, but I really feel like the last 6-7 weeks have been a waste!!! I am usually quite a positive person, glass always half full etc... but I have to be honest with you, I am starting to feel 'down' about it all and all my bad body images and feelings are coming back as I can't see any kind of change in myself in the last two months! I really wanted to be around the 170- 180lb stage for christmas but I am currently 194lb.... GUTTED! My weight loss has dropped to less than 10lb a month now too.... Sorry about the moan, but I know this is a safe and honest place to let it all out, so to speak... any words of wisdom, kindness or just a kick up my ass would be very much appreciated!

Where my girls at???
Hey Diva, I feel your pain ... mine sound similar to Tiff's and I ain't even half way to goal yet... booo hooo... I am also thinking about getting 'the job' and I would like a TT at some point... just the cost is soooo expensive here!!! Looks like the wonderbra will have to stay for a while longer!

Am I crazy? I dream about my dream weight
I had those dreams and still do!!! I have a reoccuring dream, where I am always wearing the same outfit...a nice pair of jeans, with a skinny shirt - tucked in - and a pair of leather boots - to the calf and zipped up all the way - lets hope that our dreams come true!

Update
Yep! I agree with you and the others... you look great... happy and healthy! When were you sleeved... I am nearly 5 mths out too! =]
