  1. Good luck, the first couple weeks were the hardest!
  2. I didn't see my dr either until 2 weeks later. I did have a nutrion class that day also before I was to start back on food. It was actually 12 days later, and I was so happy she told me I could start eating food that day!
  3. oh, I was thinking you had it done in 2011, so that makes sence. I'm hoping this fill works, or I will go back in 2 weeks for another one. Good luck, let us know what happens.
  4. I just started adding chopped strawberries to mine and thought to myself, why didn't I do this before! Yum! I do buy a yogurt from Ralphs called CarbMaster. It is their brand and though it's not greek yogurt it has 8 grams of protein and only 60 calories.
  5. wow, I can't believe he would make you wait 4 months for an appt. My dr likes to see his pt's once a month for the first year. I hope today's appt is a good one for you!
  6. That's the craziest thing I have ever heard! I hope you are able to get one tomorrow. I had one yesterday and I had been wanting one since October but she thought I was already full enough. I was surprised too when she told me not to wait another month if this fill still doesn't seem enough! I'm hoping this one works for me! Good luck tomorrow.
  7. Good luck lellow. I hope it is nothing serious and the band will be in good working order soon. You are an inspiration to all of us fellow banders!
  8. wow, if only losing the weight with the band was as easy as just writing a check! Too bad you couldn't post that on your wall and after she saw it defriend her! Some people just don't get it. They see those commercials that make one think that way and it is so far from the truth! My friends also thought that before I had the lapband that it would be easy for me. But they have seen what I have gone though and what it took to get me to where I am at...and that is HARD WORK!
  9. Running scared....you need to change your name! Just do it! What have you got to lose??? looks like 131 more pounds! You already know what you need to do, you wrote it yourself! Work at it, journal and follow the dr's recommendations! Best of luck to you!
  10. I missed the tub too. I ended up taking a bath and just not filling it up so high so it wouldn't get my stiches wet.
  11. I have no problem with broccoli. I don't eat raw carrots anymore and snow peas that were my favorite have gotten stuck twice.
  12. It can take many fills, I just had fill#8 yesterday.
  13. Awesome, can't wait for you to share your success with us!
  14. I know how you feel. I finally got a fill today, my last one was late Sept. My phys asst didn't want to give me one before because she thought I was too full already. I am , or was 6.5 in a 10 band. So she put me on phentermine for the last 3 months, which helped on the days that I took it. But I am ready for the band to keep my hunger at bay. About 2 weeks ago at my support group meeting I was telling the dr how I was feeling and he agreed I needed a fill. Once he told me that I was dying to get in there! Anyways, I am just a year out and still waiting for my green zone, hang in there!
  15. So true elcee! I've had ups, I've had downs, but no disappointments! Well, to the exception that I wish my hunger was better controlled.
  16. best wishes to both of you girls. I can say that it took work to get to where I am at. I'm not perfect but good 90% of the time. What has really kept me on track is writing everything down that I eat. I also measure and weigh everything unless it is prepackaged. Some people don't need to do that, but I get hungry often and know that I CAN eat more than I really need but I don't. I'm hoping this fill does it for me!
  17. By no means should you feel ashamed. You have lost 60 pounds, be proud of that! You have lost 60% of your goal! Maybe you need a slight unfill if many things are getting stuck.
  18. Everyone is different and can tolerate different things. I had no problem drinking any amount of fluids from the get go. I have friends that can't eat bread, pasta, eggs, steak. All those things I can eat and I would still choose to have the lapband.
  19. Before the band I had a hard time limiting my portion sizes. I don't know what changed because it was a long time before I felt any restriction, but from the very beginning I measured everything out and put it on my small salad plate and accepted that was all I was going to have.
  20. I just had my fill too. My dr recommends day 1 of liquids and day 2,3 of soft foods. Atleast that's what I think I remember since it's been almost 5 months since my last one!
  21. Before the surgery I ate til I was stuffed. Maybe not Breakfast and lunch, but definitely dinner. I haven't felt like I have been to the greenzone yet,and I just hit my year anniversary. I measure and weigh everything and have told myself that is all I get. Of course, I have cheated along the way, snacked on chips, etc. But you can't just rely on the band to make you stop eating. Last night was the first time I had brown rice. I went out for dinner and I had what was prob 1/2 cup rice. 2 ounces salmon and half my veggies. The whole dinner was 475 calories from Mimi's Cafe and I had half. I only have 1/4 cup starch at dinner on most nights so the additional 1/4 cup was good while I was enjoying it. As soon as I got into the car I felt really full. I think it was really the first time I have felt like that since having my surgery and honestly I do not miss that feeling at all. It took a long time, but now I know that satisfaction comes from me enjoying every bite that I take instead of feeling stuffed.
  22. I am a year out now and still waiting for that green zone. This was my 8th fill I think. I should have close to 7 in my 10 cc band now. Isn't it crazy for you to think that you only have 10 pounds to lose??? I have 12 and it was unimaginable to even think that a little more than a year ago!
  23. Congrats to you B-52! I just got back from my visit too. My last fill was in Sept and I was so happy to get another one today. She gave me .4. I hope this one is the charm! Good luck with yours!
  24. Well, all the above mentioned food can cause sticking issues for some people. I can eat it all, though with steak I have to stick with filet mignon. The tougher the meater, the harder to go through the pouch for me!
