  1. I remember how hungry I was too. I made it through 12 days before I got the ok for soft foods. Have you tried some sugarfree pudding? Maybe something like that will help you through until you were given the ok to start food.
  2. woo, hoo!!! Good for you Caramelqueen!
  3. I can't see how it would ever be desireable to do a self fill!
  4. I bought one from Pampered chef but also saw one at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
  5. is that your striking a yoga pose??!!!
  6. I remember burping a lot in the beginning. Now I think I may gurgle more than burp! Hope you are feeling better!
  7. i just found one that I really like to have for my morning sncak. It's called AdvantEDGE and they are 110 calories and 17 grams protein. I bought them at Target for $4.99 for 4. Saw them at the grocery store and Walgreens also but for much higher. I like to freeze them and then defrost a little bit. You can cut the top off of the foil like container. I also like the high protein Slimfasts as well.
  8. wow Lannae, you are doing awesome!! One month out and I was down only 13 pounds.
  9. Congrats to you! I just started running a little bit during my 3 mile walk. Never would I have imagined that I could be a runner! I also did my first long hike this past weekend, 10.5 miles! So much to be thankful for!
  10. sounds like you should be seeing the dr asap! When was your last visit to the dr?
  11. I have been very faithful to journaling and keeping my calories to 1000 a day. I aim for 60 grams of protein each day and weigh and measure most everything I eat. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect. I go over the calories on some days, eat some sweets that I know that I shouldn't but I am happy with results.
  12. It's hard to tell myself I'm not hungry when my stomach is a rumbling! I do eat a mid morning protein snack to hold me over to lunch. But still, it's hard to stay around 1000 calories. I feel like I can maintain at 1500, but still have a little more than 10 to still lose so I try to stay under 1100.
  13. well, 13 months out and I'm still waiting for it to control my hunger! I took phentermine for 3 months, mid October through mid January. I chose to stop taking it, I really want the bad to work like it's supposed to. The pills do work good though, I have to admit. I have changed my eating habits, I eat what I am supposed to, for the most part. But my will power only lasted so long. It really did help those few months i took it. SOme of my fellow bandmates took it too around the same time.
  14. Xavier, I envy you! Here I am still trying for that green zone 13 months out. She gave me a tiny fill today, .1 cc. I wish I could come up to the lady you go to!
  15. I was at 6.75 until my fill today of .1. I have never gone 4 hours without being hungry! This morning I ate breakfast at 7:15, in the doctor's office by 9:15 am and my stomach was growling loudly! I had to negotiate for the .1 fill because she says I have more than what people normally have. I go for an upper GI Monday and will see what the band looks like at that point before she will give me any more fills. I would give it atleast a week or 2 before going back in though.
  16. if it's hurting I wouldn't chance it. The hernia needs tme to heal. I was on liquids for 12 days afterwards.
  17. I had better luck in the beginning eating canned chicken that now I don't really care for tuna anymore. I had a fill today and I am sticking with soups today and soft foods tomorrow. My fill on 2-7-12 I had to have removed the week later. I had .2 put in 2 weeks ago and another .1 today. She thinks I am on the tighter side being at 6.85 in a 10 cc band. I am going for an upper GI next week to see what it looks like. I still get hungry soon, can eat almost anything and fast too without getting stuck. Good luck with yours!
  18. been there, done that twice! I got myself in right away the 2nd time. The first time it happened I got in after suffering for 7 hours.......7 hours too long! Luckily my PA came in at 9pm that night for me.
  19. I'd say find another dr.
  20. measure, weigh and write down everything you eat. You may be surprised at how much you are consuming.
  21. yes, if you are still getting heartburn and have a cough. I have afriend who liked her band so tight, couldn't tolerate much of anything.....2.5 years post surgery, one gallbladder out later and she had to get totally unfilled. Up 60 of the 80 pounds and she is just getting her fills done again now. So, better slow than fast if fast means problems for you.
  22. The lapband has not cured my love for food. If anything, I think I enjoy it more now that I take my time to eat it instead of inhaling it! The week after surgery all I watched was the food channel, and I still enjoy cooking shows now. I wish the band was around my head as well, but it isn't!
  23. I had my first fill 5 weeks post surgery. Some people get there quick, unfortunatley not the case for me! But I try and follow the rules and have done quite well. Except I have been struggling this last month, up and down the same few pounds. The lapband definitley isn't the easy way out, it still takes work.
  24. don't beat yourself up. own it and move on!
  25. It is the point where you are satisfied on a small amount of food and can go about 4 hours between your meals before feeling hungry. I am still searching for it! Hoping tomorrow's fill will do it.
