  1. That's cool. 16s are getting big on me now too, so I can see how toning up with weights will help. I've never even owned a size 14 so I am pretty excited.
  2. Hey guys, just wondering what your weight loss is after 6 months. I am 6 months out now and have lost 95 pounds so far, but the last few months it has been dragging. I still eat between 600 - 1100 calories a day. Most days I get 80g + of protein and keep my carbs under 30g. I exercise a few days a week and stay very active. I wear about a size 16 now (started at a 24). I would like to lose another 70 - 75 lbs, but would be happy with 50. I am going to change up my exercise routine tomorrow to see if that helps. I have been doing lots of walking and c25k. I'm going to start aerobics and weight training tomorrow and aim to do that 4 days a week. In my head I know I will lose more weight eventually, but I still get scared that this is it. How is everyone else doing?
  3. never thought I'd ever say this, but dove milk chocolate is too sweet!
  4. Started all of this with a BMI in the 50s. Today I'm 39!!!! Yay!!!!! Almost 100 down!

    soooo frustrated!!!!

Yeah, I freaked out the first three months. I had really high expectations. I see my aunt who has been out 2+ years and she still loses a little here and there. I just take a moment to realize I eat way better than I ever did. I eat way less than I ever did. and I exercise way more than I ever did. I feel better than I have in years and look better too. I will be satisfied that this is where I am at this moment. And for the first time I will look forward to the future. chin up!
  6. I don't care for bread much anymore. I didn't really like cheesecake. Pasta doesn't do it for me either. Sometimes I just crave meat. Like a juicy hamburger ( no bun of course) or a steak. makes me feel kinda weird when I get like that.
  7. I do this too. I would get myself all worked up and stressed out that it wasn't working. I keep track of my calories/protein/carbs on a tracker. I get kinda psycho about it. I weigh myself everyday(doh!). I had a "stall" going on since mid august and today I dropped 6 pounds. huh. oh well, I had it coming!!! lol!
  8. Ugh, I used to get migraines 5 days a week!!! post op I feel that they are alot better. I think mine a caused by stress most of the time. I get so tense down my back and neck and head and my breathing gets shallower that I need to focus on this asap to try to calm down. most of the time I don't realize I'm doing it until too late. my doc had me on all kinds of med, topamax, inderal, amitryptaline, etc.... they all helped to a certain extent, and then my migraines would start creeping up again. they are doing botox for me every 3 months now, a ton of injections in the forhead, temples, back of head and neck and shoulders. it seems to help, but it hurts like hell to get it done! we will see. I hope it works out. To all fellow migraine sufferers.... don't you just HATE the people who never get headaches?! lol
  9. My hubby didn't agree either. We went to extra counseling together and pretty much had to agree to disagree. Post op he is great. He sees how healthy and happy I am getter and more active. I think it's crazy that your hubby is trying to take you off of the insurance. It's like pulling the plug. No offense, but he's being selfish and he probably thinks you are being selfish. I know your date is coming up quick. Try for counseling. It was my last resort, and while it didn't create world peace, it helped alot. Prayers for you. I hope it all works out.
  10. Looks like mexico is the best bet. My doctor here in Buffalo NY would charge $29,500 straight up for the surgery. WTF! As with any doctor, make sure you get to know them and trust them.
  11. Thanks Tiff! I have a counter on my droid. I'm going to start counting everything today!

    what kind of exercise.....

I did walking postop. And when my belly didn't hurt anymore I did wii fit and just dance. now I am working on c25k. It's alot easier now that a load has been taken off!

    FINALLY!!

Yay! My weight loss has been "stallish'. I lose a few, then I hover for a while and then lose more after a few weeks. It will come off. At least I've been growing out of my clothes!
  14. I'm 5'7". I was 344 on New Year's Day. I was down to 320 by day of surgery, 4/12. A month later I was 294 at the doctor's office.
