    I'm here to help...

Hi fabulous banders! Happy Sunday I can't find the current posts? So I am not up to date on everyone since Friday. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am loving the weekend! Yesterday I got a lot down laundry and a 3 KMS walk and DH work party. At the party I did ok. Tried to have wine & still no go after 3 sipes. Had a little of some of the items but not too much! Today up early, shopping on line to order cookbooks and hope to get in a workout on the eliptical before hitting Bellinham for a shopping trip . Have a great day all! K xxx

    Eating/Question

I was hungry a lot and just eat zero calerie items between meals & snack like jello, broth & hot choclate. I am 3.5 wks post op and am still hungry. For awhile I was actually eating too little. I keep a on-line food diary to track my caleries, fat, protein & carbs. Always go for protein fist. If you are hungry have more protein shake. Make sure it is 15-20g protein. I sip shakes through out the day. I carry them with me everywhere. Good luck!

    LEFT SHOULDER PAIN

I was banded on Feb 9. Some days the pain is so brutal I thought maybe I threw my shoulder out. I try and stretch & work out - this helps. I find I get more pain when I eat too fast ot too much.
  4. How are you doing? Have a great weekend!

Good evening beautiful banders! Trying to keep up with all your activity – love all the posts! I am 3 weeks post-op tomorrow and only down 7 lbs since surgery. The scale isn’t moving this week. I keep a food dairy and can’t figure why. I sent my dairy to the nutritionist for ideas. I have been eating most days at 1200 or below. Yesterday I was just over 1200. I have only been walking 30 mins a day as I am still to be focused on recovery. I did get the elliptical today for 20 mins. I didn’t want to push it as I did 2 weeks ago. I can’t wait until I can go back to pilates and do more than level 1 on the elliptical + arms. I had a nice business lunch at the club today downtown. This time I ordered my favourite Soup. The soup bowl was so big it looked like I had nothing. The next 4 days are 10-12 hour days + house guests for Thursday night. My BFF bander, 2 god children and hubby are staying the night. I am attending my first local WLS group with my DH. Friday I am attending a conference with a HR buddy from out of town. I have still been sleeping really badly. Waking up at 3:30am. I lie in bed for about 45 mins then I just get up. I have been forcing myself to go back to bed for a couple more hours. Kab1278 – we see the grass here in Vancouver all year long. I also have flowers planted all year too. Things are already starting to bud here. Laura – sorry to hear about your dad. I am sending positive vibes to kick the crap out of that cancer. You & your family are in my prayers. Have a great week all! Cheers, Kristi

    Protein Bars

Can you not bring your shake in a cooler bag to work? I carry shakes with me all the time so I don't get too hungry and make poor choices. I buy the Atkins ready made protein shakes.
  14. Mattie - I agree with everyone. It is not an easy journey! We still have to deal with the demons of how we ended up here. It is struggle every day. But you will feel better. I find when I do well on the scale I feel great and stay focused. Do you keep a food diary? I find this helps. I have an app on my phone that tells me how many caleries, fat, carbs & exercise... Stay strong and keep trying! We all can do it! K

    10 days post op

I think it is also retraining the brain. I had 2 pizzza's looking me in the face last weekend for about 15 mins. I reminded myself that was my favorite food now I don't eat that. We use to have pizza every Friday night. I can't get back into that old habit. I am 2.5 wks post-op. I am thinking crustless pizza for a treat one day for a special treat. For me is more about the cheese... Last night I made meatless buffalo tenders with fat free blue cheese - yummy! Just have to be creative! Good luck all! K

    emotional breakdown!

TylerAshton, I would suggest you both see a councilor to see if this relationship is worth it. My hubby and I are best friends but just after my surgery we had a big miss understanding. I think we both were stressed just after my surgrey. My husband and I have a strong love. We are both confident about our love and don't have to question it. I point out cute girls to him all the time because most of the waitresses are dressed for the part with their boobs in your face...! Best of luck! K

Good morning beautiful banders! Cheri – Glad things are going as well as they can. You are in my prayers!! xxoo All - I having a great weekend with my DH and feeling recharged. I stitch strips are now all off and it feels so good! I discovered these yummy Protein meatless buffalo wings made by Veggie patch – great dinner with some fat free Blue Cheese! Great news my father-in-laws house closed and he got asking price. He is all settled in his new senior living and happy. Once the stress of the house is behind us (March 18) we can get him back on track and less stressed. He has done amazing as these are all huge decisions. Yesterday & last night we got about 3 inches of snow. Since west coaster don’t have snow tires and don’t know how to drive in the snow for the morning I will do house chores and get out for a walk in the winter wonderland. Busy work week ahead! Everyone enjoy your Sunday and have a great week! Cheers, Kristi

Happy Friday all! Wow, did this week fly by! 2 week’s post-op – all is going well. I am down another 7.5 lbs since surgery on Feb 9 for a total of 22.5 lbs. Stitches are dissolving and can be gone now! I have become the puree queen! I have become very creative and like my creations. I carry food with me when I am out and about so I never get in a tough situation. This is working really well. Last night was my first business meeting dinner with some good friends & business contacts. OMG can you say a sticky situation. I thought I would be able to eat slowly... I ordered an appetizer with shredded pork. I ate slowly and all of sudden it got stuck. Not only did it get stuck but I started to feel faint and light headed. I didn’t want to pass out. I didn’t want to alert my dinner friends so I just sucked up and thank god it passed. Today I still feel full and still stuck. I am going to stay with a liquid & puree diet for the next 48 hours as well as a nice walk today. Maybe next time Greek or Mexican may be better choices. Not to much on for the weekend which is nice. But the other week's ahead are really busy as we moved DH dad to a senior living and have a offer on his family home. so once it closes we will have to clear out the last of the remaining items. We are having cold weather today in Vancouver it is to hit -10. That is really cold for us on the West Coast. I wish everyone a fabulous Friday & great weekend! Cheers, Kristi
  21. Dray1873 - I have been pretty good with restriction. I haven't had a fill yet. I eat small & frequent meals so that I am not too hungry. All is going well!

  22. 2 week’s post-op – all is going well. I am down another 7.5 lbs since surgery on Feb 9 for a total of 22.5 lbs.
