  1. Happy 34th Birthday CMom!

  2. Happy 33rd Birthday CMom!

  3. Hi there. I had my surgey on Sept 30, 2011 (which makes me 8 1/2 month or so post op) an I have lost roughly 60 lbs. it is definitely without struggle. I know that I can douch better, but I fell Iike I have been a success to lose what I have. I have my slip up days and then I realize that I have done wrong, pray about it, and move on. We all are different with different body type. I started out at 307 and now I am at 245. I gain a lb and lose a pound sometimes. That is a part of the weight lose journey. Nothing magical was expected over night, so please anticipate the hard time and the struggle. I put an expectation to lose my next 45 lbs to be a year or so away. If I accomplish it by next summer than I am doing great, but if not I will continue to press on. Stay positive and set small goals that you know you can accomplish and build on them.
  4. Add me... CMom79. Lord knows I can use all the help I can get. Thanks
  5. Hello everyone. I was banded on September 30th and I started to feel the thinckness around my port incision, but as time progressed it when away. I hope that will happen for you all as well.
  6. 59 lbs to go to meet my goal. I hope to lose another 10 by the end of Jan. with the hopes of being down the total 107lbs by the time I go to the Bahamas in July.

  7. 59 lbs to go to meet my goal. I hope to lose another 10 by the end of Jan. with the hopes of being down the total 107lbs by the time I go to the Bahamas in July.

  8. I was banded on 09/30/11 and I have lost 40 lbs.
  9. Perfectly normal. I do still feel nothing at times until I lay on my stomach. That is the one thing that I am not capable of doing yet. If feels like I am putting pressure on my port when I do that. Otherwise, I feel nothing and I like it that way.

    Heeeelp......

Walking helped me with the gas pressure and I had a lot of discomfort from it. Some people will recommend the GAS X strips, but those did not help me at all. The hunger will pass as your move from the liquids to the mushies. Try not to focus on the discomfort at the moment. It will get better I promise. I went through the same emotional and discomfort rollercoster and things are better. I went through the why the heck did I do this to myself and wanting to eat the house up, but trust me things get better. Try to do some walking and see if that helps.
  11. hi Nancy. I am coming along fairly well. How are things with you?

I see that it has been since 2009. That is alright though. I look forward to chatting with everyone as I progress through my weight loss journey.

I am an Alabama bandster. Hello all from Birmingham.
  14. I was ready and then nervous myself when I got closer to my surgery date. The next day after surgery I was all emotional becuase I could not eat and wondered what I have gotten myself into, but things do get better. You will not be vomiting and vomiting is definitely not a good thing if it should happen. Everyone has a different journey and your journey will ne unique to you. Choosing to get the LapBand surgery is a good thing, but rapid weight loss is not what you are going to experience, so try not to compare yourself to everyone on this sight. I have defitinely slowed down in the weight loss department, but staying hydrate and eating the right things is what you should stay focused on the most. I know that you will read a lot of things on here that will share you, but having a band in to the horror that you read. Once you pass the first week you will feel like your old self again and will not know that you have a band at all. I was weak the first week, but went back to work 10 days after surgery (that varies for each person) because I drive a school bus. If you follow the guidlines set by your doctor you will be fine. Try not to stress the small stuff. Oh, Protein is definitely a plus, so make sure that you are getting enough of that and plwnty of Water. Make sure that you take your Vitamins. If you have any other questions or if I can be of any helo, please feel free to drop me a line.
