  1. I was told I could never again drink sodas, champagne or beer unless they go flat. BUT, no on ever said I wouldn't ever be able to take a small pill or capsule. This is torture. I can't imagine not being able to take pills the rest of my life. Everything tastes awful opened up and crushed and in liquid form!
  2. I have been having little panic attacks about what I did to my body. My husband says when I feel better I won't be having these regrets. Did anyone else have these feelings? I feel weird and uncomfortable having a foreign object in my body and am having a hard time getting past this feeling. Help!
  3. How did you not get hungry during the 1st week of clear liquids after surgery. I am 2 1/2 days off my surgery and stomach is growling. Don't have a need to eat, just keep feeling it.
  4. Had my stress test today and everything was great! Cleared for surgery. Just PVC's like I have always had my whole life!
  5. Thanks so much for the insight! They are getting me in on a Friday and my surgery is on Tuesday so I hope the results come back soon. I just want to know as soon as possible to be able to focus on what I need to do! I am hoping for a quick answer!
  6. It seems these pre op diets range from all liquids to full Atkins. Let me know what yours is. Mine is one to two weeks (depending on your BMI) of two shakes a day (20-30g Protein, less than 5g sugar, and 3 g fat), then a salad with no oils or dressings just lemon or plain plus plain chicken no skin. I wish I could do the Atkins instead but I know some people are on full liquids for two weeks prior. Would love to hear what your pre op prescription is!
  7. I am just wondering....does your doctor have you doing Atkins pre surgery instead of liquids two meals per day? Or are you doing the liquid meal replacements too?
  8. I am scheduled for surgery finally a week from tomorrow and so excited. I went for my pre-op appointment today and mentioned that some doctors have noticed that I have PVC's (or irregular heartbeats) on an EKG. I just had gallbladder removal surgery 6 months ago and uterine surgery 6 months before that and I had no problems. Yet, my surgeon wants me to do a stress test where you run on the treadmill. Does this mean my surgery may be cancelled pending the results? Has anyone else had to do this?
  9. I am confused. I am going through the approval process with my insurance right now to get the procedure done. The only thing that scares me is the fact that everyone on these boards says you have to exercise and eat healthy. If that is the case, why not just diet? Does the LapBand really help or do you end up doing it all on your own anyway? I just want to make sure I am not going to go through surgery for nothing. I would love your input! Thanks so much!
