  1. Your post has perfect timing for me. I start my quasi-liquid diet tomorrow morning. My doc wants me on the medifast diet for 3 weeks prior to the lapband surgery. It was explained to me that this diet will help 'shrink' the liver so he can have easier access to put the lapband in. Apparently he has to lift the liver to get the band around the stomach. I can honestly say that I'm not looking forward to the diet. After reading your posts I feel alittle better knowing that I'm not 'weak' (or nuts) and that other people are feeling the same thing that I'm feeling right now. I wish you the absolute best of luck! Carol
  2. Glad you posted so I wouldn't have to repeat exactly what you said! Do you have a surgery date yet?
  3. This is my first post here but I've been 'lurking' in the the shadows reading posts like mad. I've been considering various surgeries for weightloss for a number of months and finally decided to go with the lap band. I was fortunate enough that my husband's insurance would cover the surgery if I went through a series of Nutritional consultations etc. I was lucky that my Doctor's office was very familiar with my insurance (Aetna) and I got my approval code a couple of days ago (WOOT!!). My surgery is scheduled for May 24th.......so get ready for the bazillion questions! Carol
