  1. Hi....So I am getting banded on the 11th of January. I keep cheating with little things. I don't know why. I have done so well over the past 6 months losing 42 lbs. I think it is because I CANT have anything. Not that I have cheated over the past 6 months but I do let my self have a treat. That is why I think I have done well. But now, I CANT, and its driving me crazy. I have 8 days. Anything I can do to salvage this?
  2. Just try to find things to keep u busy. I am getting banded on the 11th. My issue right now is wanting to cheat on this preop diet. Everything in your life can be causing your stress. Try to find something that makes u happy (not food) and go with it. If you need to cry, cry, its health. I hope things get better for you.
  3. I am doing the Carnation Breakfast Protien Shake. Mixed with Healthy Checked Fat Free Milk. I didnt like smell. Then I used my Bullet (Blender) and added ice. Now it is my favorite. Like a milk shake. Lean Cusine has 170ish calorie meals. I space those out one for lunch and one for dinner to make my 300-400 calorie meal. Im getting banded on the 11th. Good luck...Keep in touch
  4. I am also on my preop diet.....What wonderful words of encouragement....I sooooo want to cheat...
  5. Im so glad to see this question. I have been married for 9 yrs. I love my husband. However, I feel the same way, no sex drive at all. I however am having pain with it. So I am hoping with the weight loss and some pain meds for endometriosis that over time it will get better. With my weight loss my endometriosis will get better also. I am getting banded on the 11th. Good luck to you. I am sure your hubby is like mine. Loves you no matter what.
  6. Im 12 days till surgery....I so fell the same way. It seems that food is my focus right now. This website has helped a lot.....Nice to hear that others are going through the same thing. Hang in there. It is healthy to cry. Hope you feel better soon...with this it shall pass....
  7. Honk....I married my hubby for the insurance..LOL...seriously I was losing my parents insurance after I graduated from college. I have a brain tumor so I HAVE TO HAVE insurance. We just celebrated our 9 yr anniversary. But it is true. I am getting my lapband on the 11th of Jan. However, its been 5 yrs in the making.First delay was my husband was layed off and lost his insurance. Next delay was Needed my tonsils out....Then I found out I was Prego...and then I got horrible infections after having my daughter. Then I had to wait for my doc to become a center of excellence...and FINALLY....here we are...but in my 5th month I got delayed because I had a fractured spleen. so 2 extra months but again FINALLY...we are here.... So my point to all this is that things sooooo happen for a reason. Head up and do what u need to do to get it done.
  8. Congrats....proud of you for making this change in your life. My day is Jan. 11th. I will b praying for you tomorrow...Good Luck!
  9. Everyone has the right idea.....get cobra and get through surgery. Then get on medicade to help with your insurance down the road. If you were approved I would personally pay the cobra. Plus I would want to find out for sure what they let u go for. Make sure it wasnt to save themselves a buck. I often wonder about that sometimes. I pray things work out for you!
  10. You are right Shelly We Can Do This! 2 kids 5 yr old and a 2 yr old makes it so hard. I am a stay at home mommy right now so that makes it even harder. Anyways....hopeing it gets easier. If you are on facebook look me up. Jessica Walker Alexander. Keep in touch.
  11. Good Luck....and may this be the door u needed open to change your life to be a healthier one. Will be praying for you.
  12. So glad to hear u got the seminar info. That is the first step. I pray that things go good for you. I am getting banded on Jan. 11th. God Bless.
  13. I am on day 1 of my preop diet. Only 14 to go...I am getting banded on Jan. 11th. Any ideas on how to stop the feeling of being hungry. Any ideas of how to manage this problem of constantly being hungry during preop diet?
  14. Hi everyone, my name is Jessica Alexander. I am in PA. I am was waiting patiently by the phone for the call that my surgery would be scheduled. I was already on my preop diet with hopes that everything would go smooth for surgery the Monday after Christmas. However, it did not, and they were still waiting on records from one of my specialists. So finally I have been scheduled and insurance approved for Jan 11th. Its been a long road to this point. I was on my 5th month when I found out I had a fractured spleen 2 months later and 2 MRIs later I was finally cleared. I am so happy. My peak weight was 339. That was my 2nd month of my 6 month visits. That was my "Moment" that opened my eyes. That day I changed my life. Started really watching what I eat, count calories, and portion control. As of today I am 298 on my own. That is 41 lbs in 6 months. I can only imagine how it will be after I have the surgery. I am so excited to get this wonderful tool to help me. I have not been under 300 lbs in 8 years or maybe even longer. I have been overweight since I was 12. I have a prolactinoma tumor which effects me hormonally. I have PCOS, endomitriosis, and Interstitial Cystitis of the bladder. And hormones effect everything. God has blessed me with 2 beautiful angels (my children). Now I must do everything in my power to be here for them and my husband as long as possible. I am on day 1 of my preop diet and feeling very hungry. I think it is all in my head. It will be nice to meet many people like me. Good luck all and God Bless.
  15. I found out also that I have gastritis....they assured me it was not going to effect my surgery. I am scheduled for Jan. 11th. I also found out that I have a fractured spleen. This has delayed my banding but I finally got the clear to go ahead. Did your doc say losing weight will help with the gastritis. Mine did. Hope things work out for you.
