I am an attorney representing a young woman who was beginning to undergo a lap band procedure when the surgeon managed to put a through and through puncture through the aorta. She nearly bled to death as the surgeons were trying to figure out what they did and then deal with it. She wound up losing 80% of her blood volume and has significant unrelenting pain in her legs from the muscle tissue death that ensued. She has hideous scarring of her abdomen now and of her legs that were sliced open to relieve compartment pressure from what turned out to be many hours with no blood circulating to the lower extremities. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience.
