  1. I was banded Jan 7. I am on 'soft solids' so anything that can go through a straw, even though I can't use a straw . I used a hot Water bottle for the gas pains. I still have a little in my shoulder but it is not unbearable. I did get some gas and bloating stuff at Whole Foods and that seemed to help. I am eating mashed potatoes with the unflavored Protein added, I made this Egg Bake that was in the packet they gave me, and it is GOOD! And as a plus I have a weeks worth of breakfasts in the freezer. I am also doing refried Beans with mozz and avocado mixed in and I tolerated that really well. I had to get the natural vanilla and chocolate. I just got some protein shots to add to my water that I drink throughout the day to make sure I am getting enough protein. Tastes like watered down grape Kool-aid and they are expensive but I will be on solid foods in I think three more weeks, so hopefully I won't have to buy them too long. I have been adding the chia seeds to the yogurt and that seems to help with the 'regularity' issue. I am not a back sleeper either, so I have been sleeping in the recliner all week. At least the pain medicine is helping me sleep! Glad to see that everything I am going through seems completely normal.
  2. Me too! I hate it, and after reading about someone getting gum stuck I don't want to chew. And some of the protein drinks just make my mouth feel chalky. My hubbie told me my breath smelled bad yesterday. I have never had this before either. It is not even cottonmouth. It is like residue mouth.
  3. I just went in for my one week check up, and I am down 15 lbs from date of surgery. How is that possible? And how long before someone bursts my bubble and says, "It's all water the first 10 lbs that you lose". My clothes aren't fitting looser let, and she said it was probably because I was still swollen from surgery. Did anyone else lose what seemed like an impossible amount the first week?
  4. {tap, tap, tap} Is this thing on?
  5. Hello everyone! I got banded Jan 7, 2011 and this is my first post. I have been lurking for a little bit, and I just want to test the waters here. I have only been on one other forum (for something else), and it seems small and intimate, and this seems huge! I was banded by Dr. Soong in Las Vegas. Everything so far seems normal compared to what I have read on here so far. I go in to get my wounds check tomorrow. The gas is subsiding and so is the pain. I find I have an incredible amount of energy and my skin looks great! The only thing I am having trouble with right now is scheduling. When to drink Water and how to space three meals and one Protein shake out between 16 hours and not drinking 30 minutes prior to or following a meal without feeling like I am ravenous in between! Trying different powders and mixing the unflavored protein in with stuff to see what I like and what works has been fun. I even took some protein with me one day when I had to be out and mixed it with some curry potatoes (one small potato and mostly broth) from the Whole Foods deli and it was really good. I am so glad to see so many people on this journey with me!
