  1. I was banded on the 17th Dec also. I stayed in the hospital overnight though. I experienced ALL your symptoms. Take a liquid painkiller, sip water, juices etc. I ate soups for dinner but only could stomach 1/4 of the bowl at any one time. Yesterday (Dec 21st) was the first day I started feeling better. Today I spent 4 hours Christmas shopping. I made time to get a massage in between but informed them of my operation. From day one, my husband massaged me which provided some relief. Take a liquid to relieve your gas and walk around the house. That's what I did for 4 days. The pain will eventually go away. I had no appetite whatsoever but kept sipping as much as I could. Now I'm only in pain around my incisions when I cough or sneeze. Other than that, I'm feeling so much better. I'm still struggling to eat enough though. I'm drinking protein shakes, juices, water and soups for now. I have lost 16.5 lb since my pre op diet. Hang in there. It'll all pass! Good luck!
  2. Hi there. I was also banded on 17th December. Today is the first day I feel great. I had been suffering extreme abdominal pain everyday and ever night up until this morning. I was sooo bloated and my incisions were killing me. I could barely move. The gas accumulation was horrible and I had never experienced so much back pain before. Today I feel amazing. I so hope this feeling continues. Since starting my 2 week liquid pre-op phase (3/12), I have lost 15.5 lb so I'm thankful that all this pain and suffering has paid off! : ) I'm on liquids for 2 weeks post op and will then move on to 2 weeks of a pureed diet. So far I have not been too hungry which I'm very happy about. I need to increase my energy levels so I can now start exercising. Any ideas? Good luck to everyone who's going through this. Reading your experiences has really got me through the past few days : )
