  1. Has anyone ever had to be completely unfilled and then gradually start getting fills again? If so, How are you doing with it. Did you have better results and start nto lose again?
  2. are you self pay or will insurance help pay? I want it too
  3. ppl SHOULD be supportive of our weight loss and not jealous, and it is hurtful to feel shunned. One of my co-workers said YOU DON'T NEED TO LOSE ANYMORE BECAUSE YOU DONT WANT TO LOOK SICK. Well, I still have weight to lose and I'm determined not to give up. Thanks for all of the encouragement and support.
  4. @BamBam, Depressing? You're right. so in order for me to seek the true friendship that you mentioned, I suppose I have to start all over with a new set of people that never knew me before at all. Is that the answere?
  5. I was really hoping that jealousy wasn't the answer but truthfully, I believe it is also. I suppose it's been seen so much that the psych Dr. knew what she was talking about and what was ahead to come.
  6. Hello, I was banded in '09. Although I'm struggling now to get back on track, I remember what was said in my pre-op support meetings. They wanted to make sure that this is what you really want to do because people will treat you differently once you lose weight. I said I'm sure of what I wanted and needed to do,and that my family and friends would be happy and support me. Now I'm beginning to wonder. I still have weight to lose But I can feel a rift from my co-workers and bowling friends. At work, they're not talking as much and I catch them staring. At my bowling league, they do the same. The females walk by without speaking as they use to and they are no longer inviting me to go on tournaments out of town the way we used to. I can't think of a single thing that I may have done. I'm feeling a little abandoned and lonely at times, but I still have at least 20 more lbs to lose. What will happen then?
  7. Congrats to everyone that is getting back on track. I'm startint to do the same. I was banded in '09 and have lost around 50 lbs. I've been there a year now so it's time to start over and take control again. You all have inspired me. Thank you!
  8. everyone add me......Try (bunn3950y)
  9. I sometimes think that I have developed an hernia due to a large upper belly. I did get a small fill, but I see my Dr. tomorrow and ask him to unfill so that I can maybe start over and let my throat and band rest and heal also.
  10. Hey guys, 2 more lbs to go and I will hit onederland for the first time in 25 yrs. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks!
  11. It could be that your Dr. want you to be careful of becoming dehydrated. Some Dr.'s look at coffee as being a diuretic.
  12. I KNOW IT'S HARD TO STAY OFF THE SCALE. I WATCH IT EVERY MORNING AND FEEL BAD THE REST OF THE DAY. ONLY 6 LBS TO ONEDERLAND AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THERE FOR THE PAST YEAR. CONGRATS TO YOU. I HOPE TO JOIN YOU BY THE END OF THE MONTH := )
  13. That's good news. I've lost half that amount and I've been banded since Aug. of '09. At 205 right now and have been there for a yr. Cant get under that 200 mark.
  14. Aviatrix, I can understand your feelings of being down, but please try not to let it get you too down. You seem to have a lot of support here and I wish you the best. I'm struggling with the feeling of being too tight and losing no weight. I've had fills and unfills to the point that I feel hopeless. I want to see another Dr. to have myself fully checked out because as it's been said, Sometimes your Dr. can give you a hard time and make things seem as if it's your fault. I often wonder if my band was placed correcly. I only want the problem to be corrected if so. I love my band but hate the reflux at night when laying down. I don't know if this is a symptom of a hiatal hernia or not, but I have a large upper belly that protrudes and this is another reason why I think I need an endoscopy. Anyone else have this going on? Could it be a hiatal hernia?
  15. I know what you mean. I've had several fills and had to be unfilled too due to being too tight. Everything I ate if not eaten very slowly, had to come back out. After being unfilled, I felt a lot better but had no restriction and ended up gaining a couple of lbs. Next week I'll be filled again. (hopefully not too tight) I need to lose 15 more lbs by summer.
  16. @MSK94 I was nearly in your position 4 months ago. Having acid reflux bad at night, sore throat, bloated, pain near the port area in which the Doc is saying a pulled muscle. He wanted to give me a fill then but I said I was having too many symptoms as if I were already too tight. He sent me for a swallow and I was right, too tight. He took some out and immediate relief at night. I had gained 2 lbs by my next visit and we did a little fill. I havent gained any more, but now he want to do another fill because I'm not losing. I want another fill too, but I'm afraid of being too tight again. Anyone else have this situation? If so, What did you do?
  17. Like you, I had bad gas. not in the shoulder but behind the ribs. After calling the Doc's office a few times, I took some advice and walked the neighborhood twice daily and ate (not chewed) gas-X, by day 5 I started accepting my decision to have it done. So the pain will go away
  18. Hello, checking in for the week. Starting weight was 206 so I'm down 2 lbs this week. I hope to have another two lbs down by next week. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement.
  19. Has anyone tried safslim or raspberry ketones? If so, is it working for you?

  21. I have that same problem. stomach bloat, gas, gurggling, sore around the port area, and when flared up it does hurt to walk much less exercise. My Dr. says its a pulled muscle but Im doing nothing to pull it and it occurs nearly every 2-3 months. I'm out 2 yrs also. I'm past that time of the month thing so I cant put it on that...LOL. I think it does start with overeating and eating the wrong foods that starts the gas pains. The gas pains worsen to the point that laying down feels as if my stomach is bulging over and is caught in the band . Mine seem to last a couple of weeks before easing up. Anyone else's pain lasts that long? I wonder if all bandsters go through this or if this is a serious concern.
  22. @ starrbrite, bleeding? you mean from throwing up or what?.
  23. My port is also in the bend of my waist and to the left of my belly button. It is hard to exercise at times. I'm very short waisted. I want to do zumba but afraid to pay money for something I wouldn't be able to do. I do stay sore under the rib area, could it be that I need to have the port moved? I wonder.
  24. I heard that there was another form of HCG that is much cheaper in the clinics that is given once a week. This type of HCG is not like the 500 cal hcg diet. It may be the same stuff (I don't know) but you do NOT have to be on a starvation diet I believe that being banded for 2 1/2 yrs and still need to lose 25-30 lbs in order to reach goal and haven't lost any weight in a year is worth giving this milder version a try. At least for 30 days. Some of us struggle a little more than others. But if you're newly banded, you may do well w/o trying the hcg.
