Am I the only one who loves their band?
I do love my band. It betrayed me about a year ago but on course now!

Disappearing lapbanders
Hi. Usually there is gas pain in the shoulders and maybe some pain in the abdomen. Other than that, that's all I experienced 8 years ago. Wishing you well!

Where is everyone from? Are you banded or hoping to be?
Shared this in other threads, but..... Banded in 2010.... got down 100 lbs. Had an issue in April 2017, lost all fluid, gained 50 lbs, now back on track. Looking to lose another 30 before the wedding in Sept.

8years with my lap-band
You can still gain weight back with the sleeve but it is probably the best option for eating "normally"

Disappearing lapbanders
Working on 8 years myself. I had an issue in April of last year that required the removal of all my fluid. Went nuts with all the foods I decided to have that I couldn't before. 50 lbs. later I got fluid put back in and now working on getting that 50 off. So far I have about 13 lbs. off. Gotta get back to weight for the wedding.

Lap Band Removal Today @ 3 - I’m sooo scared!
I often wonder if I should consider removal. I had my band placed in Oct 2010. Last April I had an issue and had all the fluid removed. Apparently I had learned nothing about food consumption and that resulted in about a 50 lb weight gain. Almost a year later, I have some restriction but the weight is barely falling off. I am afraid that if I got a revision, I would just gain more weight again.

Starving! (Bandster Hell)
I had chicken broth mixed with cream of chicken soup and it was a nice departure from the Protein shakes I was having. Maybe that will work for you.

Has anyone had a SMALL leak?
I would say get a second opinion if the Dr maintains that a leak is normal. Lellow (member of this forum) has substaincial documentation on the leak that she experienced, everything they did and the ultimate result. I would recommend looking at her posts/blogs.

chat function not working last few days
Hello, I am unsure if this has been reported but the chat room and individual chat functions have not be working properly for a few days. Seeing chats is requiring a full refresh of the browser no matter if Firefox or IE. Active notification of new chat messages are not working.

My Heart is Broken
So sorry for your loss. We had to put down our family dog of 13 yrs in 2012 and it was so very difficult! We really didn't have a choice in the matter due to health problems she was experiencing. She was our first "child" and I can relate to your grief and the difficulties you are going through. Be assured that better days are coming, it just may not come as fast as you would like.

Ok!! Is Anyone 100% Happy W/ The Lap Band?? And Successful
I was banded in Oct 2010 and I can say without hesitation that it was the right move for me. I have lost almost 110 lbs and feel amazing! I have had challenges with navigating the band and figuring out what works and what doesn't. Slider foods are the largest temptation with the band and if you choose those types of foods often your weight loss can stall. I try to eat meat often to give me that full feeling with little actual calorie intake. I do eat things like ice cream as well but in moderation. I am probably eating about 1200-1300 calories a day right now and it is working. I didn't exercise as much as I should until recently. Now I am trying to tone up the flab that remains. Good luck in your journey!

Can You Sleep On Your Stomach After Being Banded?
yup. tummy sleeping is the bomb!

Feel Full But Also Feel Hungry. Is This Normal?
This happens to me all the time. I attribute it to the absence of lots of fats from my diet. I eat mainly proteins, fruits and vegetables. I don't much in the way of carbs for the most part. I think that carbs and fatty foods are what causes this type of feeling.

When Do You Know You've Lost Enough??
My PCP recommends me to be 215 lbs. I am 6' tall which if you go by BMI chart weight means I am "overweight". However, there are other things to consider such as your build, etc. At 215 I still have a bit of a belly but my hips line up with my "love handles" which was never the case when I was larger. Another factor is age as someone else mentioned. The BMI chart is not really a "one size fits all".

How many days per week for exercise?
One issue I am running into is that my back really hurts after I do a mere 30 minutes on the treadmill. I have been doing some resistance bands and crunches hoping it is just the fact that I need to build up the back muscles. But, it makes me not want to do the treadmill because I am in pain most all day long from it.

Day 18...what Should I Really Be Eating?
Just do your best to be patient. this is not an "overnight" process. you will have plateus along your journey. Try not to drink the shakes unless you have to. Try watching your empty calories in the form of drinks. Try altering your Protein intake type..... maybe eggs instead of Beans... etc. The scale will move. However, don't get stuck on what the scale tells you. Pay attention to how your clothes feel. That is also a valid indicator of your success.

Hiatal Hernia
I have that condition as well. As far as I know my Dr did NOT fix it while I was getting banded and I never did ask about it. Oh well. I guess I will find out when I get my next scheduled EGD.

Its happened..... The dreaded plateau....
I am with you, trish! I am down 70 and haven't budged in about 6 weeks. I am wondering if I have gotten complacent in my routines. 2 months can seem like an eternity when one sees steady losses every month for a long period of time. I am gonna try switching up my eating and exercise routines and see if that helps. The body tends to get used to routines and stops cooperating. Good luck to you!!
