  1. I am at 6cc in a 10cc BAND. Ii was banded in april of 2011. For the last 2 months I have experienced sever back pain a few days before the onset of my cycle. it goes away after my ccycle. i do have a back problem to begin with but this pain is different. has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? I have never been a person to suffer during my menstrual cycle. any input will be helpful. i will check with my doc but i like to talk with others to hear about there experiences.
  2. I was told it is from anesthesia not shock which is it? I had other surgery and never had hair loss.
  3. Anyone out there knows how long this last. I started at 3 months out and I have been shedding about 5 1/2 weeks. It is scary and I find that my texture is changing. That part I like. How long does this last? weeks or months? I am a hair person, but I can't take too much more. Please advise bandsters out there.
  4. When does this stop? I have always had beautiful hair and I am not losing weight fast. I eat protein and take biotin and always did even before the lap. This is horrible its not breaking its just shedding.
  5. Jaynie, I had this. I was banded 4/13/11. Eat after 12 noon chew slow. The stuck feeling is from the placement of the band. It is swelling. It takes a few weeks. Be patient. It is not a problem other than annoying.
  6. It has not been easy I was a bmi of 33 at 5'7 1/2 I needed to loose 60 and definately no more than 70 pounds I am 23 pounds down. I am self pay. I have struggled my entire life and was at my highest at 210 and early 40 s with no other health issues but chose to make sure I didn't have to deal with health issues due to weight.
  7. I have benefiber. This is about psyllium husk powder which is a fber supplement when mixed in water after consumption it swells. Benefiber doesn't do that. You can mix benefiber and sit it down and two hours later is is barely visible. Psyllium husk would be so thick and swollen you would not be able to consume it. So when you mix psyllium husk you have to drink it immediately but after you drink it, it swells in the stomach and cleanses the colon. I hope this helps. Big difference between benefiber and psyllium husk powder.
  8. This will pass I had this as well. I am 7 weeks out. I have no fill. I had this for weeks. It will pass try drinking warm items in the am only. Don't eat food till after noon. This is what kinda helped me. It is just a process. I agree with the reply its restriction I couldn't understand this a few weeks ago. Now that I am past it and down 22 pounds I am affraid to get a fill and go back to that swallowing issue. So I incorporate will power and just placement of the band as my restriction. I don't want a fill I am just not emotionally ready to deal with additional issues with a fill.
  9. I have no fill I am 7 weeks out and can't eat till about 3pm each day. I do protein drinks in the am. Some days are better than others. I went through hell trying to figure that out. It is not in your head do what works for you. Also on hot days I am tighter.
  10. Same here bmi 33 5 feet 7 1/2 and I hide it well. I was considered obese and a self pay but I tell very few because by whatever their standard are I shouldn't do wls. I am over it I know my struggles and my doctor absolutely supported my decision. Don't give it much thought. Feel good about your decision and nothing else matters.
  11. Is there a site that list the dont's for lap bandsters. Example don't take fiber supplements, don't take certain meds. Etc. This would be very helpful for newbies. Thanks
  12. Yes I found this at Sam's. Delicious
