    Exercise advise please

I hate exercising. I want to vomit during and get very weak after gym sessions, even low intensity. I signed up and canceled my gym membership at least 3 times... All pre-band. I do walk fast-pace at least 1h a day at least 3 days a week. I need input, advise, a kick in the a$$ from this forum. Do I need to exercise? Is walking enough? And just in case - anyone in Shipsheadbay Brooklyn or Woodbridge NJ is looking for an exercise partner?

    NO fill bandits

Was wondering if bandits who plan/hope/already are going through being banded with no fills should have a separate forum section under the "Lap-Band Fills" or some other section? I find that our questions and goals might be a bit different from the people who have fills. I am refering to those who chose not to have fills , not those who are "pre-first-fill" Just wondering...

    scared to eat

Took me several weeks ... Fear is gone. But I am very couscous about any food I eat for the "first" time (post-banding). I am still learning what I can and can not eat even with no fill. For example freshly made fish - no problems, but canned fish is a NO-NO for me.
  5. How do i add link to my doctor profile ? I see some people have it in their forum postings ... THX Got it - THX Alex!!!!

Anyone have ANTHEM BC PPO ???

I have PA A BCBS - no 6 month required for me. Even thought my doctor's surgery coordinator told me it is - I think they want patience to have 6 months to get more money from the insurance. But I had a nightmare of a surgery coordinator. She might be just one bad apple :-) I would suggest checking twice with A BCBS. They have 25 page doc ( at least PA A BCBS) and it does not mention any 6 months diet or 5 year weight history ( yes the coordinator insisted to have it as well) I submitted ONLY what insurance required. Which was a request from my surgeon for approval - 2 page form ( 2 last pages of that 25 page doc the insurance pointed me to)

    Exercise advise please

You might be right ....I did had a membership to a gym with personal trainer, and tons of 'personal attention' I actually did not hate it as much. But end up gaining weight and quit after six months. Will give it a thought - THANK YOU!

    Deflated look

I am only 3.5 months banded, but have 'plastic surgery account' started to have money for the surgery that most likely will not be payed by insurance. :-)

    NO fill bandits

LOL Rachel I think it is the placement of the band just pressures on the right nerves and minimizes the hunger... I would love to have a separate forum to see how NO FILLers do. I got an impression that only Realize Bandits can live with no fills - but I might be mistaken. I also think the weight issue for NO FILLers was not due to the type of food but the amount of it - but once again - I might be mistaken. Just looking for some answers - any input from NO FILLers would be great.

    not hungry

    I hate when

I hate when people tell me: "why don't you go for a fill and loose faster".... My Band, My Body, My Decision As long as I am averaging 1-2lb a week - I AM HAPPY.

Went for 1st fill and didn't get one

I found few 'no-fill' banders here. I chose to have no fills for as long as I am averaging 1+ lb a week.

    why is everything sugar free?

Mindy I am surprised because I was told to LIMIT sugar free food. 1 - if it is not sugar - it is chemical (in most case) substitute 2 - that sugar-free candies, pops...etc can give you gas. I never had sugar in my coffee or tea, never had soda... the only thing I changed after band is substitute juices for Water. And a LITTLE 'yummy in your tummy' - will not hurt :-)

    LAPBAND costs in New York

NYU ( where she works) has few sessions a month that are required to attend to begin the process... At that session I was told it is 16k upfront... That was in Jan 2011 You can find more info on payment and more - http://thinforlife.med.nyu.edu/surgical-weight-loss/getting-started/payment-options
  18. I learned about sliming, bping, nutrition.... and more here. Hopping to get help with this issue as well :-) I know all the general rules - if I don't need it, love it, or used in 1 year - give it away... But I am fighting myself because - I am glad I kept all those 'too small' things... lol To get dressed is a project in itself. I refuse to buy more clothes that will fit me for maybe one month. I have plenty of "too small now" that will last me for months Every week some things have to be moved from "too small" to " can wear now" and out of the "can wear now" to " "too big" closets. I borrowed friends sawing machine to alter some of the pieces I absolutely can not pack into box (it is actually a very organized closet) full of things that are too big. So I now have another section in the closet - "to be altered" OMG HELP PLEASE How do I stop the insanity and find a simple way to clean up my closets .... any tricks, hints on how you deal with ever changing sizes and closet organization? When do you know It is time to box up and give away clothes that are too big? Yours truly - Frustrated Bandit

Brand new here and full of questions...

This forum is great - you can find ton of info here. And to start the process - find the best lap band doctor in your area who accepts your insurance (you might find some info in this forum http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forum/1140-massachusetts/) and talk to your pcp. Good luck!!!
